  1. oh yeah, might want to leave out the part where you knew you were going to piss him off... haha but seriously if he's going to try and kill you with his car over a little traffic incident then I dunno... probably could've happened to someone else if it didn't happen to you.
  2. next time just drive to the police station and get out of your car and go inside and tell them exactly what you told us. They might not listen to you either but at least the guy isn't going to try anything on at the cop shop.
  3. I know you know this but using the excuse "i just got the car" as a reason why it isn't insured is a joke. Insurance is free until you get the bill so why anyone would risk it is a joke.
  4. Bump - Genuine Radiator brackets still for sale.
  5. That is a dodgy rust repair. R34's from the northern parts of Japan commonly rust around that part. I would be wary of where else rust is on this car.

    Im After Some Dates?

Flights may be $1080 thru Jetstar but as soon as you add the Shinkansen to Tokyo you add $300 on top. If you just want to go to Osaka Jetstar can't be beat. Of course you can get a JR Pass and use that for the shinkansen so you gotta factor all that in your research. My TAS2008 flight is $2021 JAL direct Sydney -> Narita. I paid a lot to be fully flexible, direct, on one of the most popular days and be the best flight time (JL772). As a comparison, Jetstar for the same day was $1800 all up including meals, entertainment (I know if I didnt pre-buy all that I would have bought it on the plane cause i like that stuff) and shinkansen to Tokyo. Add on top of that all the farting around with baggage and trains and I decided no thanks and paid the extra $200. As for research on Japan try these links: English Japan rail trip planner site: http://www.hyperdia.com/cgi-english/hyperWeb.cgi This site has every rail timetable, govt bus timetable, domestic airline timetable, fare cost schedule programmed in and will tell you to the minute how to get from one place to another. Japan Rail Pass Site: http://www.japanrailpass.net/eng/en001.html English site on the JR pass, costs, conditions, etc. Kakaku.com http://www.kakaku.com/ Best site for finding street prices for electronics in Japan. It's in Japanese though. Learn katakana and it's not too hard to navigate. Jalan.net http://www.jalan.net/ Best site for booking hotels in Japan for the Japanese domestic tourism market. I get consistently better prices here than anywhere else on the net. Usually you do not have to pay in advance for Jalan bookings either. Again it's all in Japanese but if you mess with the site enough you can find out what to click by trial and error.
  7. Drinking, eating and parts shopping. Visiting people and workshops. Where'd you end up booking accommodation wise for Tokyo? We're going to stick to Shinjuku probably. Although I prefer Shibuya as a central location just cuz im more familiar with the restaurants around. They're only 2 stops apart on the Yamanote though so it's fine for most nights i spose. These are probably the two most exxy parts of Tokyo though.
  8. Sorry i can't separate them or noone will want to buy the other piece.
  9. Buying them soon - heading to Japan in January and picking them up there. Car's going well though. You bought a S3 now? You found one you liked?
  10. I don't know if it helps but here ya go: Series 2 box: Part Num: 32010-12U00 Series 3 box: Part Num: 32010-12U10 Nissan list 32010-12U10 as the "alternate part" for series 2 but list 32010-12U60 as the alternate for series 3 R33 GTR. Looking inside the box itself theres a load of parts to compare and im lazy.
  11. Calsonic make the factory radiator.
  12. Yep.. The auction price is 6000 yen + postage + bank fee + comission + EMS... expensive little things. Ah well I have no use for them now.
  13. Depends... do you want more pssshhhtffftttt or more pfftpfftpfftttssshhh I would think the Blowsmart Techvalve 2000 would be better for the former.
  14. I bought these brackets from Nissan for my R33 and a friend but I used the R34 part number by mistake so now I need to go back and re-order. I need to sell these off now as I can't use them. I stuffed up - R33 and R34 look basically the same but the R34 ones are taller and therefore wont fit an R33. Doh! Overall fitting these to your car takes about 2 minutes and only requires a 10mm spanner/socket to do. The engine bay will look great with these parts fresh and new. I have two full sets of radiator and AC condensor brackets including new rubbers for all. Full set includes: 2x Radiator top brackets 2x Radiator top rubbers 2x AC condensor top brackets Click the photos for hires versions: Click the photos for hires versions: Pic Fitted: Price is: Full set of genuine brackets and rubbers for R34 GTR: $60 INCLUDING POSTAGE!!! Contact: PM on forums or email [email protected] Thanks
  15. I've been looking but I've never found a place that offers a good range of automotive bolts. I use coventry fastners for things like stainless cap screws and I have bought a lot of stainless M6 bolts from them for other things but they are just builders bolts. I have bought a lot of bolts from Nissan though, the bolts are great they just cost a mint and take 7 days to get in from Japan. I'd be keen to know if anyone else has had luck finding a good source of automotive bolts.
  16. great thread champ

    Japanese Ryokans

I've stayed in ryokan and western style hotels in Japan and ryokan are fine once in a while but I couldn't stand to be there for extended periods. You can get ryokan with western style attached bathrooms these days too. I've stayed in one it was pretty nice but it was way out in the sticks. About the best part of staying in a ryokan is kaiseki ryori - the traditional multi course meals you are served which is usually included in the price. Most of all ryokan are usually a bit more expensive that a standard hoteru so I avoid them now. Overall my advice is to book a few nights if your curious.

    Im After Some Dates?

TAS 2009 dates wont be announced till well after TAS 2008. You can't book a Japanese hotel until about 4-5months in advance except in special circumstances. About the only thing you can do is start doing research about what else you want to see and do when you get there. And start saving those pennies. You could book flights but that would be kinda dumb as the airlines will come up with specials between now and 8-12 months from now when most people are booking.
  20. sorry I have to bail on this. Just been made aware that it clashes with a prior arrangement.
  21. That would certainly be a sight... All the Autech 4 doors are series 3's... perhaps the owner of such a car would have some explaining to do or maybe a flux capacitor under the passenger seat.
