Was down at Bobbin Head last night - Sinking a few beers with some friends - Chucked a line in about 10:00pm - No bites at all.... We were there for ages So we decided to pack it in and go to Narrabeen, just under the bridge there where the wall of granite rocks is. So it was about 2:00am and were we all pretty bored - and then, one of my mates gets this massive bite ! We all thought he was just shitting with us cause we all had no bites at all thru the night. Anyway, he starts pulling this fish in - it was only a small one - but since it was the only catch of the night we all gathered round to watch. We were wondering what it was.... So I get the torch out - and shine on the line so we could see the the hell was going on - And just after I shone the torch on the water/line - this BIG muthafarker shark jumps out of the water and latches itself onto the fish my mate had caught. My mate had a 2 metre wire trace on the line - so the shark got hooked too - it wasn't able to break the line and becuase of the size of the hook (large) , when my mate jagged the rod back, the shark stuck to the line. This shark must have been a good 40-50 kg and was thrashing about - I think it came out of the water once or twice - It may even have been a hammer-head - but it was hard to tell in the darkness. My mate was dragged into the water - he is only a little guy - he is Indonesian you see - not much weight behind him.... So I take over the rod to see if I could bring the shark in. But it too much the shark is very powerful. I was there for a good 15 minutes - feeding line out - Just as I thought that the shark was weakening, I decide to reel it in. It took me another 20 minutes to get the shark about 5-10 metres from the shore. He put up a damn good fight. At that point I knew I had the bastard. I turned around to my mate to ask him to help me out getting this big thing out of the water - I must have let my concentration lapse because the next minute I was in the water.... I was shitting myself I let go of the rod and tried to get back to the beach - But the fishing line wrapped around my leg and U was getting dragged out - I took off my shoe and the line let go - The rod and the shark were gone. I lost one of my Brooks sneakers in the thrashing about - They cost me $270 for the pair - I was so pissed off. I struggeld to shore and found my mate talking to a park ranger - WTF ?? - he was trying to explain our story - Apparently the Ranger was asking for our fishing licenses. I said "No problem, here's mine" - I went to get my wallet out (it has my Fishing license in it all the time) - But my wallet wasn't there - It must have come out of my pocket when I was fighting the shark. I told the park ranger this - but she didn't beleive me. So now I have to go to court. So much for my fishing adventure - the Ranger says I will never be allowed to use my rod again..... Oh well - her loss Damn.....

I'm actually wondering how anyone can loose it in the first place ?? :P Sprung

Dale, A piece of advice from Uncle B-Man. Grow up dude and take it on the chin. Merli didn't mean anything by his post and you need to understand this and get over it. Yeah you lost your licence - But that is your own fault dude. You'll get it back and hopefully you won't make the same mistake again. I suggest you read this thread again, have a think about yourself and take 3 deep breaths. Then have a think about just chilling out, maybe come back to the thread and post what you realised and thought about yourself and your posts in this thread, after you took those 3 deep breaths and chill pill. Benm told me last night on ICQ that his work has this new ultra high res scanner and printer thingy with laminater - they got it got in their marketing department - Anyway, he said he would scan in the VIP license and print out a few copies. So anyone who looses theirs can get a new one. Cheers to Benm.

Actually - I did loose my license coming home from EC on Thrsday - I must have gotton a bit carried away there and on Brabham drive, went round that round about near the Pitt Stop Tav, and they were waiting for me. Got done for over 30 kmph. Then when I was driving to the cop station, my engine blew up again. Got it towed to UAS but they were closed - so I ring John up and he doesn't want to have anything to do with it anymore. Fark man I am sooo pissed. Anyone know what I should do ???

Duncan, Dan and I did the OLT. I think I will pass - Aaron is going to contact us during the week next week to let us know. Brad - I had a concerened phone call tonight and told them what i saw re: your brakes. Suffice to say that I'm sure it will be OK. The bummer is missing out on the rest of the day - But there will be plenty more track days. I definitley want bigger brakes now - And cheater tyres - mine were OK , but with my car, I could definitely use them - Ask Dan about my massive turn 2 lose then correction - I even impressed myself - ha ha Dan was pissing himself laughing in the passenger seat. Nice hi speed, 4th gear drift out the back there and onto main straight. I was complimented by some dude in an Audi S3 when I overtook him down the straight.. ha ha Came back into the pits after my only hi boost run - I blew the pipe of my boost guage - Thank Pete for the quick fix Had a look at my Microtech dash unit for peak boost - hmmmm 25PSI @ 6750 RPM - that would have been in 4th gear down the main straight - Nice !

Well.... I had so much fun today. And learn't heaps too . Thanks Dan for you hints - You should ask for a commission cheque from Aaron...... I've still got a lot to learn, but I think I improved fairly well through out the day. Ha ha - Dan roped me into doing my CAMS C3 OLT - Participated in a 5 lap race - I started at the back of the grid - but I did overtake 2 cars - so I was happy with that ! Very fun day ! I hope I got all those flag questions right - ha ha ha ha ha - I think I did Boy am I stuffed though !
