  1. Without telling us your tastes, budget and reasons for buying all you're going to get is ppl's subjective views. For example, i'd say 33 GTR, but if you told me you were saving for a house i'd say GT-T.
  2. Yeah Nissan Oz should use SAU as it's market research base. They would also benefit from official SAU advisors.
  3. Couldn't have said it better dude. Just imagine waking every morning for work, walking into the garage to start the car and seeing that. You'd be changing undies twice a day
  4. Such a nice view from the fringe
  5. There isn't much you can do power-wise without forced induction. Yeah exhaust/intake/wheels/suspension are where you'd start. Looks-wise the V35 is sexy looking just with nice rims. Don't lower it too much, and be weary of bodykits stuffing the natural lines of the car. Won't need too much externally, but you can spend a fair bit on interior (wheel, gearknob, head unit, amps, subs, splits). I bet it's sexy looking already! Esp. with the sunroof etc. Enjoy champ
  6. Nissan made the Skyline and the Silvia as part of their sporty lineup. Skyline is the masculine car, Silvia is feminine. Therefore the Skyline must be modified with this in mind. Putting feminine sh!t on it like chrome wheels, bling lighting, pumping Backstreet Boys (with lyrics like "oh girlll" ), kits that soften the tough body lines, whistling BOV's- all deride the masculine qualities of the Skyline. I'm not sexist and i reckon women can own whatever car they can afford, but it looks more natural to see a lady in a Silvia rather than a Skyline IMHO.
  7. You can't be serious? Do you work for Nissan? I've got some "GTR Intelligence" for ya. It's called SAU. This one's going to be lapped up.
  8. Meh i'm looking forward to seeing an abo hobbit. That'll make the news
  9. I'll have to make this meetup now!
  10. I agree with the other guys, go the GT2860r-7's And if saving the cash puts a smile on your dail.
  11. Aren't we being a little melodramatic here scathing? I never said anyone should buy a $130-$150,000 car without a warranty. I was trying to make a point about Nissan blocking off market competition and that making the R35 pricier than if grey imports were available- and you've run off with the fairies. How many new engines blow up and cause cars to smash into poles? For that fact, how many hand-built engines, constructed in laboratory-like conditions, stamped by one of top 3 Jap automakers- simply blows up from a manufacturing fault? If it did, that doesn't say much for the R35 then. Of course a warranty should come with any new car, especially of this value. It's idiotic not to be covered. But i also think competition makes retailers think hard about the prices they're prepared to charge. Nissan aren't thinking on this one, they're practically monopolising it. I agree with you that they have every right, because there is next to no spares market for the R35 here, so there isn't much option for grey imports for the average consumer, much safe option anyway. No doubt all this won't matter in 24 months. Many of us will be importing R35's for 30% cheaper than new, with spares available on our shores. At that point i won't give a f**k about warranty. But until that time, i'll send every dollar i have to Nissan Oz.
  12. It's a basic suggestion, but have you tried adjusting idle with the AAC screw? Your idle control sensor could be rooted. Far as i know it's beneath the intake plenum.
  13. Hmmm, i was interested in this meetup, i'm at Greystanes (near toonscabs )- but all i've read is about whores, hobbits, pornos and poofs. What kind of meetup is this? Can i bring my cat?
  14. I hope you get your nuts back on dude.
  15. I agree. But you're mangling my comment, i said: I didn't say warranty was bad. I said Nissan Oz were bad.
  16. My fantasy is ruined But seriously, i've been there on a weekend and it was dead quiet. Meh, we'll see how busy it us when we head up
  17. If you tension the bolts correctly, and use a star-pattern for anything more than 2 bolts, it should be fine. Use a torque wrench if you can get one. Might help.
  18. Fascinating thread. Fascinating discussion. I don't like the news article and i really don't like Nissan Oz. They're imbeciles and disconnected from the Nissan owner's community. Importing is the heart and soul of the GTR here, and they're just going to 'block it off' because they can give us a sh!tty warranty. I don't give a f**k about a warranty so much as a clean car for a fair price. 130k sounds reasonable. 150k is too rich imo, and compared with prices in Japan and the USA.
  19. I think he's had enough of being hated. Can't wait for the Sydney Motor Show. Last year's was sh!t and this time they should have some definite R35 specs.
  20. There are also a few twisties on the way through Leura and leading into Echo Point. It's a cool little detour before we hit Megalong Valley. I'll look into it so i can remember the street names. It goes through the Leura Cascades, anyone know WTF i'm talking about?
  21. Yeah i agree. 0.8mm gap is better. I have 0.7 mm gap and the idle gets lumpier when it's that close.
  22. Just get copper plugs. $25 a set and change them every 10-15,000kms or so. If Iridiums get fouled they're not much use. Yeah most of the servicing is easy. The O2 sensor can be carbie cleaned to wash off the carbon buildup. That should do the trick. Hope the mods get the power you want mate. Good luck.
  23. This is how you learn! I've done this heaps, i've pulled open things and then realised i'm f**ked, but i always work it out (usually thanks to the SAU geeks) I have no f**ken idea how the CAS works so i can't help
  24. Do the mods, you will get gains. The full exhaust will give you meatier acceleration. Fuel consumption= service the car if you haven't. I mean fresh synthetic oil+filter, NGK plugs, clean the AFM, throttle body cleaner, flush the intercooler with degreaser, clean oxygen sensor, injector cleaner and only use top fuel (IMO V-Power or Ultimate). Since i did all this my Skyline pulls 500km per tank (manual).
  25. You need just routine servicing or performance work? Performance workshops, i.e. CRD, might not bother with servicing jobs. Something to bear in mind when you call. I use UniGroup in Girraween, they're awesome with imports but generally won't waste time on regular mechanical work.
