  1. Had to let her go Nat, she got too clingy, and kept putting her feet on the dashboard
  2. I liked the review. Looking forward to Clarkson's take on it ("that gearbox is an absolute shi**er") but for what it's worth that review wasn't pretentious. Could've given a little more background and made the review a minute longer. Thanks for the links.
  3. I'm obsessed with R33's but i reckon they could have included AT LEAST an Oz owned and built R34 GT-R
  4. I'm going to call Unigroup tomorrow and ask them what they know about increasing pump voltage and the pump fuse blowing. I'll see what they reckon and maybe switch a fuse over to take it to their workshop. I'll post up here and let you guys know the progress. Thanks heaps for all the advice
  5. Yeh i got excited... Also i reckon between Top Gear and Fifth Gear i reckon Fifth Gear is the more objective, enthusiast-targeting of the two shows. But i prefer TG, and it's still a solid motoring show...just sometimes all the excitment blurrs the seriousness of the content. Perhaps because FG is much more dull i take it to be more 'realistic'. Meh.
  6. I thought of replacing the fuse and leaving it but i'm expecting to blow it again and being stranded somewhere next time. It blew for a reason so i'd rather test it out to be sure.
  7. How do i keep it above 12v when the system voltage is varied automatically depending on injector demand? 1. I'm pretty sure they wires are free of contact with anything else 2. It's actually wedged in the tank and doesn't move (R33 tank is wierd shape) 3. You reckon try this after using the mutimeter? Hmmm, as with no.2 the pump is a little hard to remove now it's wedged in there. So the new wire from pump relay to pump +ive is basically grounding the pump? Trying to bypass any kinks between the relay and the pump?
  8. Is someone going to finish writing the ten commandments?
  9. The original fuse lasted a couple of hours before blowing. I'm guessing the same as you, that the wiring is grounding somewhere. From looking at the pump i can't see how the wiring touches the tank, but it must be. So you reckon hook the +ive wire between the battery-> +ve pump terminal and measure the voltage? If it is grounding somewhere what's the best bet? Redo all the wiring to the pump?
  10. Thanks for the replies guys. I found a blown fuel pump fuse in the boot (i was looking at the wrong fuse box before), and put another one in and the pump primed. Relief! BUT what to do now? I read the 'No voltage at fuel pump' thread (thanks Govich) and i'm wondering how to solve this. For my limited electonic knowledge, the pump relay is after the pump fuse, so what's making it blow?
  11. I'll test the pump itself of course. How would i go about checking voltage going TO the pump without being able to run the car to a workshop? Yeah the fuses were all ok. I know it was installed correctly because the guy that did it for me has done two 040's before mine.
  12. I changed my stock R33 pump to a Bosch 040 yesterday and it all hooked up fine, drove it around for about and hour. There weren't any issues until in the evening the car just died and wouldn't start again. It had plenty of fuel, the starter was working, it just wouldn't start. All the fuses under the driver's side dash were fine. BUT i noticed the pump wasn't priming anymore so i'm guessing it's power related. I thought of taking it out and hooking it up to a 12v battery to see if it still works. Anyone know what the issue is here? Why would it work fine then just die? Thanks!
  13. But it's not the thickness of skin that counts.
  14. Yeh good advice. Having one or two people with you makes it better between pitstops But i'm not complaining...i still love being all alone with my car, some good music and lotsa chocolate
  15. I own Brighton. You just ruined my night.
  16. I'll drive it there. I'm serious.
  17. You drive a hard bargain Nat... Maybe we'll just stick with the walkie talkies and 200rwkw
  18. The Skyline was the star of the show. Logies here we come!
  19. "The Skyline defies the laws of physics..." Also notice how the GTR was the only car that made him laugh/talk excitedly during both tests. Awesome.
  20. Bought it today from CRD. Will be fitting it over the weekend. I'll post comments if anything interesting happens. I agree with you, the gtst will never surge like a GTR so i think it should be fine. Plus my car won't see the track that much. You're right but for half the price i think it's a good compromise. Ok dude, you're a mix between paranoid and OCD. Lol. I'll agree with that one, only cause it makes me look tougher
  21. Got my copy this arvo. Can't read it cause i'm off on a cruise OMG R33 heaven in this issue. My dreams have been realised. I was at CRD today. Bought a fuel pump. Was Lance the guy that served me?
  22. It' funny to see you lads splitting hairs and getting the shits at each other. Hey i'm not complaining. It's a tutorial.
  23. Awesome work. You've given me ideas for when i do it. I reckon this is a great mod.
