  1. Can you get little RB26 model engines? I'd love to build one and put it in one of these cars
  2. Wow You dudes are true Skyline enthusiasts. I've never seen so much passion! Ace collections, i have an R34 GTR die-cast (not amazing quality) but there's no point posting it after all the others!
  3. Nismo
  4. Damn guys...reading this thread gave me a headache. Let's rename this forum J-Spec Imports... I will assume Nissan Oz will bring in R35's within 12 months. This isn't 1990 and the GTR will sell much easier than ol' R32. Aside from a small number of racing teams and other importers bringing in R35's now, you can be sure Nissan Oz has been in talk with Nissan Jap and also Gov't bodies to cut some deals. There's money to be made here and Nissan will be there with bells on.
  5. Great idea, worth the effort. With a high flow panel filter and this Julia Roberts mouth drawing in air you'll be able to drastically minimise restriction without getting a defect.
  6. Why are you choosing a supercar built by Nismo to a production road car built by Nissan? Two different ends are met in these cars- compare an R35Z to the R34Z. That's logical.
  7. *Sees pics and blows pants* That's awesome mate! Love the turbo and ex. manifold. Very clean job, very heady duty. More pics
  8. Oh shit, i thought i was replying to a new thread How did he find this old one anyway? That's some serious searching tharr
  9. Plumb back is good for lower power set ups. Atmosphereic BOV's are illegal so stick with what does the job of expelling excess charge, makes a cool noise, and doesn't get you defected. Have fun
  10. Good choice if you wanna run street tires at the drags.
  11. This is bullsh!t. I've been followed and fined for speeding a few K's over (15 and under). Cop would've seen the stovetop lights and come running. When i drive the work Hiace, or my old Corolla, i never had a problem even when speeding a little near police. They target us because our cars are loud and proud- but if they meet ADR reg's then i spit at those cops who push us around just to prove the point that- "YOUR IMPORTS AREN'T WELCOME". Reading this thread makes me burn because i know exactly how you all feel People will always try tear down something beautiful or successful- that's the Aussie way and the Skyline is an international motoring icon. We just have to work around it and sometimes bear the problems we didn't ask for or deserve.
  12. At least the Japs won't go whaling their own kind.
  13. 350-400kw atw? Prepare to spend big (c.10-15k) and put up with lots of little issues- especially if the car isn't in tip-top condition. The difference in cost between 250rwkw and 350rwkw is big. For that power you'll need a forged bottom end, head work (cams, port/polish, valves+springs), fat ass laggy turbo, reworked fuelling system, Power FC, twin/triple plate clutch etc... I could go on and list the other things, and some of the problems that might arise from working the car so hard (such as maintaining traction) If you're prepared, patient, well planned, and have the cash you can build an awesome machine. Do some searches in forced induction and drivetrain sections too. Good luck
  14. Damn interesting read guys. Loving the in-depth prep work for the new car. Good luck with it, if it's anything like the 32 GTR sent to Tsukuba, it'll be formidable.
  15. The Z-tune is old hat. Get ready for some brutal Nismo insanity. They're under pressure to be da tuning boss for the R35, i'm expecting something hardcore (bigger power+lower weight) yet balanced (chassis wise). Think 'road legal Super GT racer', imagine that freakin' bodykit and all the carbon...*cringes with excitement* I'm pizzling my dizzle just thinking about it
  16. I just changed my R33 fuel filter the the hose that leads from it to the fuel rail (had a small split, didn't want to leave it). The filter and hose have no fuel in them and i'm cautious to start it without priming the system to purge the air pocket. Is it just a matter of turning the ignition on and off like 10 times to prime the pump? Thanks for possibly saving my life
  17. KKR turbos are good for the price.
  18. For $15K you can have more than 250kw. I reckon only spend what you need to get 250kw (that's plenty for the street) and spend the rest getting the power to the road. HKS GT-RS (or another pick, btw highflow will be lucky to get to 250kw) Injectors Fuel Pump (Nismo/Walbro/Bosch etc) Front Mount Turbo Back exhaust Apexi intake Power FC + Boost controller Oil Cooler Z32 AFM Regapped spark plugs (0.8mm) Good, you already got the clutch. Other mods i'd STRONGLY recommend are: Coilovers 9-10 inch wide rims (on the rear, smaller up front) Uprated brake pads and brake fluid (brake lines too if you can afford) Boost and Oil Temp gauges
  19. Congrats mate. Graph shows some steady power being made. Enjoy it
  20. Seen the R35 too many times now...can't wait for some creative aero kits and massive forged wheels to give some more variety than the small amount that's been done in Japan. To be specific, i'm sick of R35 PHOTOS, if i had one i'd keep it stock and look in awe every day
  21. Seeing all these worked engines is making me jealous... Purple cam pulleys on an RB? Hmmm...
  22. I'm close to Parra JoeCrack you'll love how many Skylines (and imports in general) are in this area! You have to get some of the SAUNSW boys to show you around.
  23. Fuel filter is important. Fuel pump might be dying as well. What spark plugs are you using? Make sure they're set to the correct gap (i'd assume for your car it's 1.1mm gap), consider a new set (get NGK $25) Any leaks in the intake or exhaust manifolds? Check for broken studs on ex. manifold (you'll have to remove the manifold heat shield, easy) Intake plenum leaks? Look at the studs. Otherwise it'll help to do some minor servicing - new oil (expensive usually = better), get the right grade (prob 10w40 i'd say) clean your AFM (air flow metre, connects to the air pod/box) Clean your throttle body with carbie cleaner (will help it to breathe) Otherwise you'll need to get it inspected if these things don't help (they're regular servicing things anyway).
