  1. As long as there's no boost leaks it's more accurate for the nipple to be before the throttle body. It's a truer measure of the amount of boost being used by the motor. If there are boost leaks then the wastegate actuator will need more boost to open the wastegate, and that means making the turbo work too hard, which can be dangerous at higher levels. That said, if there aren't boost leaks whether it's at the comp. housing or not should make little difference.
  2. Hmmm, cool pic (damn i lurrrv R33's ) Have an original glazed for me boys.
  3. I think this thread has generated some awesome points of view. But it's labelled wrong- a fairer comparison is "S15 Vs R34" as Nissan produced them around the same time. The R33 should be compared to the S14. The 33 was made in '93, and you want to compare it to a '99 Silvia? Of course the S15 will beat it, it's newer and sleek. From these labels i think Skylines have the edge. At the end of the day, choosing a car should be an act of passion. You will be drawn to one or the other. I don't know why, but my favourite Nissan is the R33 GTR, don't ask me to explain. I know the R34 GTR is better in every way but i'm drawn to the 33 more They're in different classes also. You should compare classes (based on Price, target market, engine capacity/pistons, AWD/RWD/FWD) i.e. Skyline vs Supra, Integra vs Celica, Commodore vs Falcon. Comparing Skyline vs Silvia is like comparing tits and ass.
  4. Wow...that cordial guy is rich! Hey, hey, hey he's like school in summer time. What a whanker, thinks he owns the universe. If he actually existed i'd 'whoop' his ayse, leave him looking like red cordial.
  5. Thanks for the comment rs73 I was on the phone a few times to an importer working in Japan when i was about to bring a S2 R33 in. He sent pics to my email, talked to me at the auction, told me how he bought an R34 gtr vspec and it just really got me excited. Importing, when it goes well, is awesome. Didn't find what i wanted so i bought one from Oz...wasn't as exciting but at least i got it straight away and also test drove it. You got some balls just picking a car and going for it lol. Can't go wrong with a Skyline anyway mate. The VQ35 is a landmark V6, and the interior is much classier than earlier models. Pics when you pick her up!
  6. You mean a nipple that you connect to a boost controller? On my RB25 the boost line goes from a nipple in the intercooler piping leading to the intake plenum, goes through my manual boost controller, and connects to the wastegate actuator on the turbo. If you've done some welding it's a DIY job, but should be cheap for a workshop to do. Try this thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/In...st-t185848.html Do a search for some entra info, and check the DIY thread. Good luck mate.
  7. Yeh maintenance is needed badly by the looks of it. I did some decent servicing on my RB25 (oil, plugs, air flow sensor etc.) and with a near-stock setup i see about 480-500km a tank. You should be able to manage close to 400.
  8. For a little more money and patience a NEO is definitely better. If you're not anal about a few HP and some extra mileage the R33 RB is great.
  9. Or American auto. One in Homebush, one in Beverly Hills.
  10. C'mon, where's this part 4? Suffering writer's block Adam?
  11. Thanks for adding the post It was already posted in the Nissan news section though
  12. Good my man! Keep us posted what you end up choosing. We'll all be keen to know. Oh, and picsorban when you pick it up
  13. Power to Weight ratios Silvia: 130kw/tonne 180SX:129kw/tonne R32:124kw/tonne Talking about weight, there really isn't much in it, the highest to lowest is separated by 6kw. On the street you won't even feel it. The R32 is superior. The S13 and 180 are little four-bangers suited to someone getting their first turbo car and learning how to thrash and powerslide. Oh, btw an R33: 133kw/tonne. I agree with JAS-25T
  14. You seem worried about losing traction??? Go use a skidpan to learn about throttle-steer and weight shifting. Otherwise get some wider tires to maximise your traction threshold.
  15. Hey guys first time seeing this thread, are these working models? With an engine? That looks like fun, where do you get them from? You build from scratch? How much? Apologies for the myriad questions
  16. Seriously, fuel prices are f**ked. These oil sheiks in Saudi Arabia are taking everyone for a ride . Every day fuel can jump/drop as much as 10c. How is that normal? If a big mac jumped that much i'd throw it in Ronald's f**king face. I'm investing in some shoes with a little 'Nissan' logo on the back.
  17. Yesterday a flash of lightening and the following thunder made me sh!t. Seriously disappointed this summer. By the time the rain stops and the dam is at 1000% it'll be the middle of winter.
  18. As above. Was doing 60km/h on the motorway yesterday. This summer sucks.
  19. I've never been in to 6x9's. They're good for a mild setup, which is what you wanted, but nothing beats ampped splits and a sub... Top work mate, looks very clean.
  20. "I can drive?" "Yes" "Muahahaha" You laughed like a child in a candy store Top stuff mate.
  21. Rice makes us enthusiasts look cheap.
  22. "Adam and Koichi's excellent adventure"
  23. Thanks for the responses. I actually noticed wet piping through the system and found many of the power steering clamps were loose (could twist with gentle touch) so i tightened them and the leak slowed, but wasn't gone. I also think some of the fluid has leaked on my AC compressor and made it seize. The PS reservoir is 50% empty now! So i'm going to do a final run down for leaks and fill it again. Is the best way to fill with the car on, and twist the wheel a few times to help it circulate? Anyone recommend brands?
