Bloody hell. So sorry, especially because it was a family with three kids. Why do things like this have to happen?
  2. Folk on SAU always say: Mod list...1. Intake 2. Exhaust 3. ECU It's right up there with the basics. Just think...factory ECU's are tuned to run on 100 octane fuel. We only have 98 octane in Oz. That's just one reason to modify engine management.
  3. I feel HICAS kick in as slow as 40km/h. If i change lanes sharply it punches into the corner unnaturally sharp. It's easiest to tell on a motorway, but really just change directions sharply and you'll feel the rear wheels squirm a little. HICAS diagnostic is a good idea.
  4. Well the laws of physics say "the GTR possesses much weight and suffers turbo lag: hence i will bog you down off the line". It needs some RPM's.
  5. Go 3 inch (that's the recommended size for the motor) Make sure you get it turbo back. Don't forget high flow cat convertor. This is pretty essential if you want to remove restrictions. I can understand the noise factor. I don't like driving around making a racket and getting seen by cops, or even just being uncomfortable in my daily driver. Look around for 'quieter' systems, or get a silencer.
  6. I bet the ladies call you McGentle
  7. Wow...this thread was an inspiration
  8. You're gonna have to pull the door lining off. There's a tutorial on the forum that explains how to remove the door trim. It's easy, just be gentle
  9. R33 powwwah! Good to see the threads alive again My car has the flu so will rock up with stock exhaust Stop laughing. Don't worry, i'll be the granny for this one but soon enough you'll fear R338OY! See you blokes there, i'll be at the Dyno day too.
  10. Do you prime the fuel pump before cold cranking? I always let it prime (the whirring sound) Old battery? (replace) Dirty injectors? (injector cleaner) Tired pump? (replace) Fouled plugs? (replace $25) Starter solenoid worn? (rebuild it) Crappy oil? (not likely to cause issues, but buy quality stuff anyway!) If none work, blow the car up.
  11. I feel sorry for GTS4WD. All that effort and a mechanic takes over...
  12. My r33 made just over 180rwkw-->cat back, intake, 10psi. Yours if fine...mine is a little high For that power scrap the list, all you need is the cat, power fc (or a retune/piggyback) boosted to 12-13psi MAX and make sure your intake and exhaust are free-flowing (3inch). Give the car some good oil and plugs (i use Motul Turbolight 4100, NGK copper gapped to 0.8mm). The other mods are only needed for higher power, and the turbo will need replacing in that case. Realistically the car will make close to 200rwkw (depending on condition, i.e fuel pump might be tired). i'd just be concerned if the turbo will reach that power. Good luck
  13. I find Just Car to be fine...beCause i'e never needed to make Claim! For my R33 (only a couple speeding fines, full licence, 23yo.) and it's $1800. Is that hectic pricey? I'm reconsidering comprehensive when this 12 months expires, the car isn't really worth a great deal and i can't see the point. Anyway if anyone is in my shoes some second opinons would be handy
  14. My dose gives me an extra 50rwkw.
  15. Was that link meant to work?
  16. On that note i've heard of one GTR tracked with 8L of oil.
  17. I bet even the Toyota engineers are saying "How the F**k did they manage that?"
  18. Don't let your car rule your pocket. I think we've all been guilty of that one time or another.
  19. I think it's ridiculous. What the hell is the point of all that power? If you want to see big power go look at industrial trucks/tractors, highway trains, jet engines- friggen rocket ships for f*cks sake! What i like to see is fast lap times, balance, massive traction, an ALL-rounder. Making massive power in a mass produced engine is great, but it's a waste- WE get it. We've flown to the moon, and sent satellites to Mars. Mankind has made more than 2041kw. Many a time. Move on.
  20. I'm not sure if you need an engineer's certificate (i'd say its likely) but you're going to have to do something about rego, seeing as the engine no. is different. Call the RTA/Ministry of Transport and ask around. I'd make sure, just to save possible future stresses. Good luck mate.
  21. Ok fellas, you've removed so much sh*t from your 32 GTRs that i think you're approaching the practical limits. Modding every single car component in some way really leaves little left to do, apart from perhaps a carbon monocoque. I bet you'd be using 'lightweight motor oil' if you could!
  22. Had my R33 dynoed and it's having fuel supply problems. Was advised to get a new pump (was thinking of Bosch 040) and inspect 'fuel regulator voltage'. The problem is basically when i floor it the revs are slow to pick up and on the dyno i saw on a fuel pressure tester that the engine runs lean. Odd thing is, once in a while i'll boot it and it'll rev easily to 6000rpm. Any second opinions here?
  23. you can get a baffled sump. There's other stuff but i can't remember. GTR owners will know of the ins & outs of RB26 oil issues Hope you get it sorted mate.
  24. This is what you should have said: 2:14
  25. Take my advice. Like me and my Skyline owning mates, learn to drive like a p*ssy in busy metropolitan areas. It's relaxing to know that even if a cop sees you they can flash radars all day, follow you for an hour, and you aren't speeding. I drive like this now since i got fined. Cops can still pull you over without you speeding (warning:defects) but this makes life SO much easier and it makes older people change their opinion of import owners being hoons. Oh BTW, leave home on time
