  1. Well you said it needs a tune...get a tune!
  2. I agree with everyone, standard dumps (entire exhaust actually) has crap flow. Chuck and replace!
  3. Pfft. I got 300 ponies in my trousers.
  4. Damn some of you blokes get your hands on it quick! It's like day 1 and we land a GTR in Australia. No one cared this much when the VE Commodore series hit the roads even Holden fans are (quietly) excited bout GTR! Only the Japs love them more than we do, that's my vote!
  5. Lol, nice one! What's the punch line when he fights his enemies? "FEAR ME, I AM GTRVR38DETTATTESAAWDPLASMABOREDSGTRANSAXLE0-1003.6SECONDS..."
  6. I've driven an S15 many times and own an R33. I agree, the SR is a great engine and the Silvia has a great chassis, more balanced from factory than a GT-T in fact. But no, the RB is a better engine. An extra 0.5L displacement is not too much, it makes it a better motor with MUCH more low-mid range torque. You're talking sh*t to say more cylinders and CC's are bad. Comparing the SR to a heavy V-12, yes the SR will be more responsive. But you're wrong in saying the SR is better (its weaker, i've seen 2 blow in last couple months) and responds better to mods (the same mods on both engines= more KW from an RB). The SR is a four banger for cheap street thrills. The RB is a true tuner's engine.
  7. He's going an R34 GTR? WTF? There's a slight change in the plan. Not a perfect plan i'll add. More expensive (nothing less than $50K), higher insurance premium, more cost to maintain and mod, more thieving eyes on it blah blah blah. It's the best of the pack but comes at a price. If you're happy to make the sacrifice then good luck to you.
  8. Boost it to 22psi and see if it blows. Then you know it's ceramic
  9. The reporter is an asshole. He spilt all that water But the nerd made up for it when he drank the exhaust fumes Funny, our kids are gonna come on these forums and ask "How do i mod my car?" and the reply is "buy a bottle of water"
  10. I think pod's are dyno proven to be a little better. I have an rb25 with HKS pod and it runs well. Stock panel filter is good too, and the air being sucked in is cooler (a pod should be enclosed too for best results) but i'd say get a K&N panel filter for better flow. An aftermarket panel filter VS enclosed pod i'd say very little difference on average street cars. Pods are slightly better i reckon.
  11. Ground-breaking stuff. Great to see the Gibson team pressing hard to learn what we all take for granted when we mod our cars.

    Black R35 Coming

Ahhh, you guys built the crazy R32 GTR that recently raced at Tsukuba? Congrats on all the success And congrats on the R35. Lots of us are dying to see how they go with mods! Damn you have lotsa GTRs, how about spreading it around a little mate?
  13. Limited edition models (like V-Specs or something even rarer i.e. a Nismo version like the 400R/Z-Tune) will probably hold their value strongly, and in some cases even increase! Look at other high performance cars *Enzo*, they're not even race cars, they're collector's items and this might as bloody well come from the Nissan factory with a big carbon-fibre friggin' frame Oh f**k i want one
  14. Yeh i saw that too. It's pretty nuts considering the hardware its got. Lots of other cars with hardware to match can't even make those times
  15. ummmm, which bubble do you live in? *Speeds off in XR8*
  16. IMO I'd be planning for more than just turbo + injectors + pump. I hope you've already got a twin plate clutch and have considered some engine work (top + bottom). If you make 300rwkw (which i hope you do) the engine/tranny will wear much faster. You can rebuild it now for the long-term with forgies, cams, valves, v. springs etc. all to match target performance. Or you can rebuild it once its clapped out.
  17. You don't sound convinced on mods. You obviously want a mild GT-R (which is still excellent!) so leave it at exhaust/intake/ECU and remove the boost restriction is my thought on that. Otherwise i'd fork out some decent cash (like $1000+) on some heavy servicing because it's an old car. If you want to avoid a rebuild then spend the time/money to freshen up the engine, drivetrain fluids and other worn parts (oil/water pumps and things like brake rotors/lines, suspension, clutch, belts). I'd spend big there before modding the car, if at all. The car will run better and do it for longer too. Stronger car = safer mods Have fun!
  18. When it's on Aussie roads you can forget the 34 GTR having blow factor like it does now. On cruises and track days its gonna have the aura of a Porsche/Ferrari/Lambo. It's gonna take a hard 34 GTR (over 50K of mods and some gorgeous styling) to be as fast and alluring to enthusiasts as R35. And YES lots of old farts and drug barons will own this car BUT bear in mind that true enthusiasts will likely garage them up half the week, some with a fair amount of security, and us bastards driving our "old" skylines will still rule the road the rest of the time. R35 is up in the class of exotic performance cars...and how often do you see 911's and F430's and Gallardo's? Not everyday, and only really in more affluent parts of town, but you pay attention when you do. Don't fuss about who's driving them, like some of the boys have said the R35 buyers will likely be enthusiasts- not mid-life crisis cocks needing to enlargen their soggy testicles with a status symbol. So it'll hopefully be a scenario i experience every day when i see a Skyline/GTR enthusiast on the roads: gear down, squirt the engine a little, and then nod to each other as we turn our separate ways. What's not to look forward to about that?

    Gt-r Gt500

Here's the unveiling: Super GT GT-R From the back it gives me goosebumps (no sexual pun intended)
  20. Well, they say two nuts are better than one
  21. Ahhh, so twisting a bolt on one side the thread makes the other (inside the block) come undone? If i got it thanks for that
  22. So its off? All the bolts + support bracket is what it needs? And whats the PS? Does gas spray out when you take it off? Just wanna be prepared when the sh!t sprays at me
  23. Any advice on taking out/installing the studs? They're threaded on both sides and i'm curious how they're worked on. Thanks
  24. My A/C died and mechanic said i need to replaced seized compressor. Bought a 2nd hand one and need to get it installed and the system regassed. Any advice on replacing the comp.? It looks a bitch to get to it. Will replacing it be on an average mechanically able person's list? I'm keen to do DIY if it's reasonable. Or is it soo depressing i should just make a mechanic suffer the work?
  25. wtf? Amazing, seeing the GTR whoop Porsche and Ferrari (whom i love dearly). Nissan have done something astounding- joined the league of best auto engineers on the earth
