  1. F*k! That's up the road from me Maybe i can get a run before breakfast
  2. Sh!t that's tough James, sorry to hear it man. Yeh i agree if it's only cosmetic bits that need replacing you can get the parts yourself and bolt them on. If you need a hand gimme a yell. The sooner it's done the sooner we cruise
  3. I wouldn't bother if you keep running the same boost.
  4. Who cares about that idiot. He was obviously too dumb to be behind the wheel of god. F*k the crash looks so much worse than the Veyron
  5. R34 GT-R (http://www.performancecars.orcon.net.nz/ca...an/godzilla.htm) Length: 4600mm Width: 1785mm Height: 1360mm Wheelbase: N/A Kerb Weight: 1,540 kg R35 GT-R (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_GT-R) Wheelbase2780 mm (109.4 in) Length4655 mm (183.3 in) Width1895 mm (74.6 in) Height1370 mm (53.9 in) Curb weight1740 kg (3836 lb) As you can see from the dimensions (i hope these are accurate) there isn't a huge difference. The only large difference is width (which is most noticable to my eye) which is 10.1cm wider on the R35. I'd say the sculpting of the body on the R35, being more shapely and voluptuous, gives it more visual mass than the hard-lined R34, which looks more like a dart. If the 34 nose was wider you'd find it hard to say there was a massive size difference. Proves how body design can convince you of a certain 'sleekness' or 'toughness' depending on how low and broad a car is, or tall and slim.
  6. +1
  7. *lapses into coma
  8. Looks better than Donut King pink Can't wait to see what those artists will do to the R35 hardware! Any specs at this stage other than exterior mods?

    R35 Gt-r In Sydney!

I drove over the Anzac Bridge today for work and tried to spot the R35 you all speak of. As i crossed the bridge, not looking ahead for the entire length and possibly almost crashing, i'm positive i spotted an R33 and an R34 GT-R, both in white (F*k knows how i spotted them amongst all the other white cars) but no R35. I left the bridge a little depressed...*sighs*

    R35 Gt-r In Sydney!

This thread has given me a bonah
  11. Hey i reckon being a chef is harder than swapping a turbo. If you get stuck you can always eat it.
  12. Great bit of research there SKYPER, I agree with you that a properly matched turbo, boost pressure and intercooler, regardless of size, are more important than just whacking on a FMIC. I have a stock turbo and R34 GTT sidemount on my R33. I chucked the 33 SMIC and when i installed the 34 one the difference was noticable. The factory 33 SMIC is really only intended for factory boost, or a little more. I have a mate that threw a FMIC on his stock turbo 34 GTT and was disappointed. He preferred the responsive SMIC. I have been advised repeatedly from Skyline owners that a stockish setup (esp. 1 BAR or less of boost) really won't benefit from a FMIC. There are more power gains available with exhaust and ECU mods. I'm happy with the SMIC setup, it's zippy and flows quite well for my 12psi. I don't think the safety knock factor really comes into play on hot days with such stock power. For peace of mind just don't thrash it on high boost when it's 35 degrees outside I'll only bother with a FMIC with a turbo upgrade, the ceramic turbos can't take big boost anyway, negating the need for one when the SMIC does the job.
  13. Nice, i'll check out the Redline fluid. Any difference in brands? I'm a fan of Motul
  14. This isn't a major question, but i have a manual boost controller and when i crank it up (stock turbo) the response is good, easily building 10-12psi from low RPM, but hits the rich & retard fuel cut. So i crank it down a little and it doesn't run rich. Only problem is that building boost is slow and i need to boot it to make 10psi, which is impractical as a daily driver. So until a get an ECU piggyback to eliminate R&R what can i do to make all that low/mid-range boost without running up into danger-zone boost levels? Thanks
  15. Regarding 2nd gear, when i change from 1st to 2nd it's a bit 'sticky' on the upshift. If i change at higher RPM, like 4000, it's not a problem or if i've been driving a little hard and the tranny is all hot then the 1>2 change is fine at any RPM. Is this a case of new tranny oil, or bad synchros, or anything else? Thanks
  16. Ok when's the SAU one? I need to dyno my car too, if the SAU one is yonks away then i'll settle for something else I'm sick of the big rwkw question mark
  17. Sydney's roads have become WAYYY too restrained. I am constantly paranoid, even in the work Hiace. Coppahs jumping out of bushes, arresting ppl, pulling over grannies. And that's when they're being nice. When they're p!ssed off anyone under 25 years of age seems to be flashed over and issues a book of fines. I'm moving to the country.
  18. Interesting thread. When i went R33 shopping i went to several Parra Rd dealers. Two in Granville, one had a decent and friendly sales rep, let me go for a test drive without fuss, and let me go when i had a thrash without any problems. Across from him another dealer wouldn't even start the car (which was a very sh!tty example of an R33) unless i paid a deposit. He asked to do business, so we walked to his office and had discussed my finances, employment record, budget and what colour undies i was wearing. I left without even driving the bomb. A week later i saw the exact same candy R33 (recognisable by the rims) with the owner standing beside it on the road and the hazards on. Sigh. I remember seeing the exact same candy colour on an S15 at the yard...does the guy buy smashed imports and respray them himself? Anyway... Went to another dealer in Burwood that i bought one off, he was full of crap too (every single dealer, bar the first one, lied and wanked on like i'm some idiot. One guy even said "the series 1 has more power than series 2 R33". I said, "Well, no, series 2 has more power mate". He went quiet.) I saw past all his lying and gave the car a comb over, test drive, and went home and thought about it. I came back and signed for it, not regretting it since. But my lesson is not to be intimidated by some of these cons, to walk away (i did about 6 times) and hold your cards close. Let the car speak for itself, not the lying bullsh!t artist who wants to get rid of his lemons. Power to the ppl.
  19. Bwahahahaha You apologise so eloquently.
  20. Adz2332's signature FTW He didn't even quote the power of the GTR, like we all know it destroys the GTST or something Legend
  21. Speaking of ATTESA one of the memorable quotes i found on SAU was two guys discussing (i think) the difference between GTST and GTR drag racing. One dude just replied "when you take a GTR to the strip and rev it up to 7000rpm and dump the clutch...then you'll know what GTR is all about." *Sigh* But hey, how the f*** is that good for the car...i don't know...
  22. Don't break the studs. If you're that unlucky you'll have to get the stud drilled out (as was done to mine) and there aren't many thread-drillers in Sydney. If you need a contact for someone to drill a broken stud i have a number you can call. A fresh manifold gave me a massive improvement to building boost.
  23. The dude i replied to just bought his Skyline. Not everyone is as expertly experienced as you mate so, like i did, give out sensible advice that will help other drivers maintain their cars. Thanks for the explanation, i'm going to investigate it asap and forever bury this problem!
  24. IMO you need a mechanic to replace it if you're not experienced. The mechanic took pics of mine and there's all these wierd studs to move, and you need to know how to remove the turbo, plus intercooler piping, without damaging anything. Plus if you do up the manifold studs too tight they can break off and you're screwed again. From what i know the stock manifold is top stuff for being stock, and you won't need an expensive HKS one unless you want to A) Run massive boost B) Install something lighter. It's effective and solid. How do i check it? Thanks for the advice.
  25. You need to take an S15 and GTR for a test drive (ok...that sounds pointless) You'll know what you like more after testing them both out. Keep in mind that we're all talking sh!t about our little experiences but each car will be different depending on how modded and worn/new it feels/looks. Drive and pick. Then smile every day
