  1. I agree, we WILL be the traffic Ahhhh...therefore your car IS a shitbox But i'm not racing you
  2. Seems like there's plenty of keen auto mag writers out there We need an SAU publication i reckon.
  3. Top news mate. Glad to see the justice system working smoothly Phone bills come in handy at times like this! Hope your friend moves on to better things and puts this very tough experience behind him, and his gf too (poor thing ). Yeh those idiots will be rotting in a cell while the honest ppl (us!) will be free and enjoying our cars. I wish you and your friend all the best.
  4. That's right, what's my name Lol Let's change the flashing motorway signs to say "SAU cruise 4/11 meet P6 Olympic Pk. C youz there" And variable speed limit signs say "UP2U" hahaha
  5. I'm also in the same boat; just finishing off a Masters in Journalism. I contacted HPI & Wheels with no response (email). Leads me to believe you need to be persistent with the editors of the magazines you're interested in. Call the switch and try and get a chat with them. List on a post-it what you want to achieve by working for them. Tell them your experiences in the auto industry & with writing (or even photography/video), interviewing etc. Even mention something about engineering/mechanical interests. Knock on their door is plan B. Some references and contacts is worth gold here, but it's not the only way to get into the industry. Just means you need to be determined. I reckon it'd be a top job, so go for it. And with the writing articles thing, it's best (not 100% essential though) to send in published material if possible. But we've all gotta start somewhere! Good luck mate
  6. This one's gonna snowball i reckon...
  7. Brochures are a hectic idea! I see so many Skylines on the roads and most have no idea about the cruises! Nice work James You need an ABN next lol. Good idea for the stopovers/briefing. Chinese whispers ftw! What about a 'Sydney Cruise handout' for everyone on the day, so we know the plan...esp. if it's a massive convoy! Just my 2c brother
  8. Don't worry Charlie, it's a good thing to get rid of the stockie Now the fun begins! Can't wait to blow mine
  9. Get an R33-> most power+torque +tuning potential out of the lot. It also looks good, has more interior room, newer technology, etc. Also less likely to have bad mechanical wear compared to an R32 or S13. I agree, the handling isn't as direct as the others (weight, length) but in context you won't be power sliding everyday anyway, plus with some good coilovers (a must do if you wanna tune) the handling becomes sharp + crisp (i have coilovers...handles like a monster). Pick what you want! Good luck (with the R33 )
  10. Don't worry Liz i've been on a few cruises organised by Assasin, and i've met all the boys- everyone's friendly and sensible We're out to have fun and show off our cars, there's nothing sinister about that! Hope you can make it
  11. I haven't tried it on an RB20 but if you follow the same principle: Intercooler pipe --> Boost controller --> wategate actuator then you're right. Just follow the hosing from the factory boost solenoid and find the factory tee, then replace it. If you want to post some pics i can point it out mate. Cheers
  12. I reckon stick with the original RB25 transplant, but plan to get the bottom end forged for over 260rwkw of power. It's still gonna handle at least 300rwkw with the mods you want, and with some top end mods (cams/cam gears/v. springs/port&polish) will be able to make a lot of power. So you'll save a bit on buying the 25 rather than a 26, and you're not going to be 'disadvantaged' that much with the end result. Thats my 2c
  13. Very unhealthy motor...
  14. Oohhh...that's pretty far...better bring some popcorn for this one WTF? Adding a blower to the VQ? Cops usually send fines within a week or two...maybe u got lucky!
  15. Count me in lads! Even if we cruised to the Cop station i'd be there hahaha Manu! Hope you can make this one brother. I miss the Z We can talk 2008 GT-R as well! Yeh Nath, i reckon a track day is on the cards this summer! That's 2 votes James Looking forward to this one, esp. seeing the 33's come out again
  16. Hahahahahahaha Hahahahahahaha RB26DETT ---> VR38DETT - Aluminium block V6...gonna be one amazing powahplant
  17. Nice GTR. Reason for sale?
  18. I doubt a brand name FMIC will impact performance at low boost; but at high boost the design is probably better for air flow (i'm not 100% on the design differences) but you're definitely getting a better quality product with GReddy and it'll last longer than that Home-Brand-made-in-China-crapola Let us know how the Hi-Flow goes...i was considering doing the same to my hammered stockie turbo.
  19. Hope u can make it Manu. Will be good to catch up Ahem...well as long as u can keep up with the Civic then you're gonna be a hit Bring the Supra bro...it'll give you good Karma hahahaha
  20. Yeh great cruise, and great pics too Best one i've been on! The Sydney Cruise will be hectic What's happening with that video guys? Wanna see some footage yeahhhhh!!!
  21. Any boys from the Gong cruise coming on this one? I reckon it's gonna be a HUGE turnout this time. We're gonna have to put up road blocks to get the convoy over the bridge
  22. Ahhhh...you have it the wrong way around mate. As this cruise was posted on several forums it must abide by ALL their rules of conduct. That's completely idiotic to say it wasn't an SAU cruise and therefore 'we can all act like hoons'. The leader/s of this cruise are responsible for the ENTIRE convoy. Period. You can't hold everyone's hand but it's your duty to set the rules down, which didn't happen from what you guys already admitted. Glad most of you guys enjoyed the drive. Good luck with the next one
  23. Hahahahahahahaha U think it was gonna be a tight fit? lol take a look at the result:
  24. Great cruise guys, saw some awesome scenery Hectic turnout, i reckon about 18 or so turned up. Lots of 33's, lots of 34's and a couple 32 GTR's...not to mention some 31's, an S15, an NX, a Ute and a Civic! Got the pics here, hope u like em. Also big thanks to James (Assasin) for organising it, what a legend Looking forward to the Sydney cruise in a couple weeks boys.
