Lol our cars are crap I thought it would have only a small relation to losing pressure. I took off my side mount intercooler the other week and flushed it out, put it back on and had no problems. Had the man. boost controller for a month with no problems. It's like loss of boost out of nowhere

Thanks, the thread was really good. The pic makes a difference Gonna get under the car, holding some grease, and finger the sh!t out of my gearbox.

The factory turbo's are a common component which makes its parts relatively cheap, think economies of scale. If you need to recondition it there should be lots of bits and pieces for cheap. Wreckers, Nissan workshop etc. should be able to help.

When i depress my clutch (and it's quiet outside) i can hear it squeak (from under the car), and it does it again when my foot comes back up again. Is this a sign of a worn clutch? Worn spring? Or should i ignore it? Thanks

Hey all, running a stock turbo on an RB25DET. Cat back exhaust at the moment. Never had any problems with boost until recently. I normally run 10-11psi with a manual boost controller. Now my boost gauge tells me that when the turbo spools hard at 3-4000rpm the gauge's needle actually drops as pressure is lost, maybe a couple of pounds. If i hit it hard up to 6000rpm it's not as noticable. I checked my intercooler and piping- all ok. Intake pod is ok. Boost controller ok. Boost gauge ok. The ONLY thing that made me think twice was my exhaust. The resonator and piping from it to the canon has rust holes. They leak exhaust gases. Does this create a loss in pressure at the turbine housing? Can this be the reason i'm losing boost pressure? Thanks guys

Here's a pic of my oil filter and something next to it (what is that part?) There's some oil leaking from my car every day when i move it from the garage. I looked for where the leak is coming from and couldn't find anything anywhere above or below the motor. Then i ran my fingers underneath the oil filter and that copper coloured cylinder next to it, both had fresh oil on them. Should i fix this immediately? Can i do anything in the mean time? Cheers

I'm near Parra. Hills is only 20-25 mins from me. I can meet up with u guys and i know some guys that like cruises too. Some good turbos. Who cares if there's not all Skylines, we're all Nissan owners anyway. I'm a performance enthusiast

261rwkw When do u frigging find out?
-
I got the rear speakers out without removing the entire back seat It saves labour time if you just pull the back rest out and lean over it. If ur a shortass it might be harder.
-
Yeh there should be more pics! Baby blue was nuts he said it does about 280-90rwkw - pretty impressive! Speaking of Z's VS Skylines, i'm taking a liking to Z's, especially since they're doing well at Super GT. That Xanavi Nismo Z is crazy, i think it's second in the comp. after the Arta NSX. Go Nissan

I had to fiddle with mine too, cause the speakers were blown when i bought the car. Take as many screws off as you can from the rear tray, entering from inside the boot. It's fiddly but you might be able to loosen a few screws/nuts. The important bit it getting the parcel tray off as it will reveal the speakers and the screws holding them in. You just pull the back rest of the rear seat toward you, and slide your hands underneath the parcel tray, and you can pop it off. There's two clips toward the centre holding it down. Hope that helps mate

Yeh that cop might have helped you to make a mod plan :sorcerer: Supercharge sounds nuts Manu, ur Z will be a gunner. Don't do it too soon, cause i might start to prefer Z's to Skylines Ignore that last comment

Sweet, i'll take off the boost controller first. Taking it to a mechanic to fix the clonking cause it's not exhaust related i'm certain. Only happens when it's driving. If i get it back, clonking gone, but turbo still not spooling, the exhaust is coming off. Hopefully my 33 isn't screwed

Could my wastegate have a problem? Should i undo my exhaust and see if the turbo spools better?
-
That sucks. I only got 6 points too, gotta be careful. Cops are wan*ers. We weren't hurting anyone, we were responsible on roads that, some of us think, have lower speed limits than what they should be. Some places are a pain in the ass. I always see radars on King Georges Rd... When u get ur licence back make sure u come out wit us

I thought my turbo could be stuffed. I've never run more than 11psi and always cool it down after driving. I give it hard every now and then but the problem came out of nowhere. Maybe my cat/resonator have been stuffed too I can take out the controller and see if it helps. It's been working fine though, so i don't see how it could have gone bad suddenly. I'll test it though. Any tests i can do to check if my turbo's blown without taking it off? I've revved it and it doesn't make much spooling or wastegate noise. Sounds like an NA Driving couple days ago my car went hard though i noticed it was losing pressure below 4000rpm and wasn't responsive down low. Now it's worse. Is that a sign of anything?

Hey guys - over the last couple days i've noticed my R33: 1. Losing boost pressure 2. Making a ticking noise near the resonator 3. Making a clonking noise from the drivetrain rear With 1. - Been getting worse, turbo barely spooling, boost gauge not even hitting the '0' by 3500rpm. Usually hits 0.5 bar by that point. Running 10psi with a turbotech boost controller, stock turbo. Engine runs fine though, but i hear a 'tick' sound as soon as i press the throttle from around the left side of engine, near fuel rail and revving doesn't produce much boost. Took off and cleaned my side mount intercooler a week ago, had no probs after that though, pressure was fine. With 2. - Thought might be from couple of little rust holes making noise, but resonator also has a rusted opening around the rear where the 3-inch pipe is supposed to be welded to it. Not sure what its coming from. With 3. - Drove home the other day at 30km/h due to loud clonking noise from wheels/diff, not sure what is was. Haven't been doing burnouts, but took it for a run around some windy roads couple days ago. Had a look underneath the back and can't see anything snapped or loose. Suspension fine, coilovers ok, wishbones, hicas etc all fine to my eye. When i drove it home it was all together, nothing felt loose or weak, just making lots of noise. Any advice or suggestions?

Yeah great cruise yesterday Good turnout for the R33's. Last cruise i was the only one! Power in numbers boys. Best fun was Megalong Valley for sure, little bumpy in places, but that sealed windy bit was tops lol, coming back from the valley i was doing 100km round those bends - but i couldn't keep up with the GTR! Not as much grip, damn RWD Anyhow here's the best pics i took, hope u like! Looking forward to the next cruise, and don't worry Endra, we didn't forget the R32's, we remember how scared they look next to an R33!
