Maybe great for a home user who isn't too well versed in computers and has little bit of extra money to spent on IT - no debate there. But Apple is still crap when it comes to corporate/professional use. Price vs. functionality/security/compatibility is just not there with Apple. But remember - Apple products, like PCs are made by some kids (slaves) in China....

Suzuki Swift Has Become Sluggish
iseekool replied to w34ponGT's topic in General Automotive Discussion
- Check the tire pressures - could be a little low. - Check to make sure it is still running light weight engine oil. - Extra weight in the car. Did she get a big sound system installed lately? -
United Petroleum Premium 100 - Suitable For R34's?

Fair enough. I was thinking back to when Shell released V-Power 100. -
United Petroleum Premium 100 - Suitable For R34's?
iseekool replied to xntrq's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
RB25DE on an R34 requires minimum of 95RON - Says on the manufacturer's brochure and on the manual. But if you need emergency fuel, I can't see any reason why 91 would cause major issues for short term use. Oddly enough I still get some pinging on 95 and throttle response is not as crisp I always fill 98 myself - No pings and better economy. But I must stress the price of 98 will not make it cheaper to run vs. running 95. Filling up with 100 or higher is a waste imho. I believe by filling 98 you will be hitting the limits of the stock ECU and sensors - Filling 98 just guarantees you are definatly well within the 95+ range. -
6rwkw for roughly 1K isn't worth it. Buy a 2nd hand hi-flow cat.

Advice On Buying A Car Time Again!
iseekool replied to hamiltonau's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I thought the G37 are conventional autos. I think the V35 3.5L sedan had a CVT which would just stop working. -
I don't own a GTR, but Skyline/GTR parts are still available at reasonable prices (compare it to a euro car of the same vintage). Not bad going for a car over 10 years old Most car manufacturers only manufacture parts up to 10 years old.
-
I thought that would be important for the ecu, regarding mixtures, shifting (for auto) etc.

Parting R34 Gtt Sedan
iseekool replied to BLITZ-26's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I'm interested in the climate control. PM sent. -
I thought of this idea too, and slowly collecting parts - I'm in no hurry (due to buying a house, Skyline is a much lower priority). My car is an R34 RB25DE neo, auto. Parts so far: - Stock GTt intercooler - Stock GTt air flow meter - Stock GTt exhaust manifold and dump pipe - Davis Craig auto trans cooler Not going for higher power as such. But have a "european car" style setup, high compression engine with low boost turbo - which is still a great upgrade for a standard GT. Have maximum power from low rpm to red line. While keeping it mostly stock. I think it's very do-able for a decent price depending on your mechanical knowledge/skill and toolset. The most expensive things would be a tune/new ECU and possible custom piping. Cost effective vs. a GTt, no - because with a GTt, you get the whole lot: LSD, big brakes, lower compression pistons etc. for the same money. But if you are attached to your car or have put lots of money on other mods already. Go for it - but you will not be at the level of a stock GTt (assuming you use all the standard GT stuff). The real benefit is you will be getting more power out of turbo charging compared to a crazy NA setup for the same budget. You will end up with a car that sits somewhere between a GT and GTt.

Remote Central Locking Scanners - Got Me Worried
iseekool replied to iseekool's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
I have no idea if mine is a rolling code or not. Which now got me more worried. -
Hi guys, I'm a little bit paranoid at the moment. Here is a background of events: - I parked my car and locked/armed it etc. - Eventually I came back to my car and noticed some shady looking guys waiting in their car parked behind mine (parallel parked - but with thier engine still running and headlights on) - they seemed to be giving me the eye. But I didn't really care to take more notice. - At this point I did not un-lock my car - because I was chatting to my mate and had no intention to leave straight away - we just wanted to chill outside the car. - About 15~20mins later, I decide to leave (the shady guys still with thier engine running) - I un-locked/disarmed the car via the remote - After about 5 seconds the guys just drive quickly away. I'm "suspecting" they may have have had some sort of scanning device - waiting for me to unlock my car via the remote, to "copy" the signal from the key to car. Which I imagine they could use to potentially steal my car. - Is it something I should be worried about? or just a big coincidence? Cheers

Nissan V37 3.5 or 3.7 sedan or Lexus IS 350, nothing like a Camry. -
Depnds on what you are gonna do. Drag? Track? Day-to-day driving? No point getting a high stall if you are not going to go drag racing IMHO. As a start - Install a bigger trans cooler. - Full flush of the trans (drop the pan), upgrade to Transmax Z or similar fully synthetic fluid. While you are at it, might as well change the trans filter too.
-
It's considered a 2nd hand item and you are not a shop. So there is no "warranty". I'd not worry about it.

From a mate's experience in his old Merc with an electric fan combo. - Great for heavy traffic in summer. - Engine slightly more responsive. - Heater doesn't seem to work as effective - Takes ages for the heater to warm up. - Less heat soak, pump continues running for a few minutes after engine is turned off. - Controller had some gremlins after working flawless for a year: - pump did not turn on once - nearly cooked his engine. - pump never shut off when he turned off the engine - ended up with a flat battery.

Best Non-Turbo Skyline?

What ever car you buy on your Ps. - Quality tires - Upgrade brakes - Upgrade suspension /thread -
I'm in the IT industry. Both Microsoft and Apple certified. Apple is a POS, that is covered in a nice box. I'll admit they look good... but that's it. - All the hardware is made by the usual hardware manufacturers - Apple Fanboys think Apple actually make thier own hardware - Software is inferior, but made to look "nice" - Security is poor - Mutli user environment sucks (think alonng the lines of Windows 98) - Partially integrates with Active Directory - People say Apple doesn't have any error messages... That's the main problem for us IT guys we don't know what's going on without error messages! - Apple fanboys also say that Apple is faster. BS. It takes longer to startup and since there is a limited range of graphic cards supported - I also fail to see how art/designer types/studio people think that their system is faster than a full blown Dell Precision T5xx. The only Apple product worth having is the iPhone (which I currently own), thanks to it having good Outlook integration and seems to be the "standard" of phones at this present time (Think back to the Nokia 3310). But in saying that Windows Phone 7 (Mango) is also pretty damn good too. Like Bos - I refuse to use iTunes, which is a bloated and buggy POS.

Being Sent To Epa, What To Do With Current Exhaust?
iseekool replied to S3RK's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Get a stock GTt rear muffler (assuming the pipe joints are in the original location). Plenty of flow for an RB25DE and quiet. -
V8 super cars and LeMans probably good too.

I think the problem would be finding a charging point when the do run low and the time it actually takes to charge -
Thinking Of Buying A Great Wall...
iseekool replied to ARTZ's topic in General Automotive Discussion
going slightly off topic. You mustn't be a hoon then. lol. I've never had a tire last longer than 80,000km and I drive like a granny. Brake pads last roughly 60,000km at best. I do around 80%~90% urban driving. Do you do mainly hwy kms? -

Rather normal wear and tear IMHO - Doesn't matter the brand of vehicle. Unless you run your tires to the belts and pads to the metal.... "if" both vehicles were not on LPG, I'd imagine the Mitsu powerplant will be just as good as the Mazda. Adding aftermarket LPG to any vehicle not designed for LPG is considered a modification, so obviously it will be running outside the manufacturer's specs.
