thats what i said... just in a different way... the styling is that of a z platform... had they released it has a top spec performance version of a 350z... there would be no dramas... my drama is that they call it a skyline and put the GTR badge on it... the skyline was always boxy, never swoopy or streamlined. exotic over the old skylines... yes... exotic against an exotic?? naaah... porsche ftw!

So This Isn't Strictly Motorsport...
NZM.031 replied to Shell's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
wow... id go to eastern creek more if there were more hot chicks like that there,... but yeh, there are usually blokes and beer guts, or fatz hanging out at the shell in a g string. if you edited that without the lame singing and shite, put a better song over it... heck, put any other song over it it that would be a great ad for the radicals. -
big sticky ones some have come with Pirelli P-Zeros and some have come with Michelin PS Cups. noone really knows why or which is coming with which... the brakes are ceramic/carbon discs with 6 piston fronts and 4 pistons rears

manifold looks the goods mounted up... hope the adapter plate is better than the camera work.

not quite... its more like being married to "said person" and never doing "said action" in the bedroom, as that, viewed by others is the appropriate location to carry out such activites.... there is much much enjoyment to be had with "said person" in the kitchen, bathroom, hallway, dining room, lounge room, garage, pool, beach, back alley, etc. etc. sex in a relationship is just one part of a big thing, and when it comes to a cool car like this... the driving is just one part of ownership... not like a stripped out cop which is only really good for an hour of thrashing... the GT3 RS is built for the track.. the enzo FXX is built for the track.. the gt2 is just a really really fast road car..

martin donnon, im sorry i ever respected you as a hard core import tuner.. clearly you are arrogant.
-
heeeeey.... i have similar photos from a similar day.. except mine is at eastern creek... you are right... these guys are worth every penny!! they are brilliant drivers... i could barely keep up with the pace on a track day let alone with 30 other cars battling for position... intense stuff!! ive never believed anything in motor magazine... their articles always seem "bought"... just a 3 page advertisement.. GT3 FTW... GT3 RS even better!

Gtr Hinges , Guard Raisers And Bonnet Latch
NZM.031 replied to schnorky's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
there are usually some around the for sale section.. i always thought the guards and bonnet were straight bolt on, the only thing you needed was the bonnet latch... which you can make a gtst one fit, but its dodgy as apparantly. best to get the gtr one. try an importer.. most half cuts come with bonnets and therefore the latch that is needed... pleas post pics when youve done it... of the guards atleast... im interested to see how it looks with the stock gtst rear quarters. -
times yes... but all over the shop, squirrely exits, dirty black lines coming precariously close to the wall, sheer noise and theatrics... i think not. last year i had no idea what times were being done or which car was doing them, and i didnt really care.. clean laps are boring laps as a spectator, 32/33/34 ftw!!

wow... i did not expect that from you.. you just dropped a few notches in my book.. he can have whatever shed he wants, and be whatever he wants.. i know a few people that up until a few weeks ago i had absolutly no idea of the kind of cars they had in their sheds... its his money and his choice... i havent seen him show anyone up yet, i dont think hes even put out a challenge... nor have i seen him say that he does not wish to compare himself with other porsches. porsche or no porsche he has been welcomed to the forum, thread a little off topic in parts but generally, noone has done any finger pointing towards him for owning a porsche.. if you are so insecure about your car that you need to get a drag time or thrash it at a track day or a power figure, then you are only doing it for bragging rights.. you can show me a dyno run that says your car makes a gazillion hp... then im going to jump in my little 150kw gtst and drive off into the sunset.. you are going to go home with your gazillion hp, and be no better off or happier than i am. the only thing ive seen with dyno runs, drag times, and track times is dissapointment and a need to go better and be faster, or make more power.. and for what?? to be better than a set number in their head?? to be better then the guy next to them?? whats wrong with just being content and having fun with your car... regardless of its numbers. mgs is clearly very happy with his car, and enjoys fiddling with it.. he doesnt need to compare it to anything or prove it to anyone... and thats the real winner.

Anyone After A Rolling R32 Gtst?
NZM.031 replied to NZM.031's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
hahaha..... close..... i bought some suede for the dash instead... it was either that or some new castor rods.. i figured there was more attention required for the dash and a bit more time consuming ahhhh retail therapy.... its the one car related thing i do not have to justify to the missus... what the item in question does, how much it costs and the reason why i need to buy it is a different story though. -
sorry, i should have said valve springs, scott said these were the hold up... at the higher rpm they werent to happy. for all the cost and effort putting new springs in, cams arent much more to put in. bakes was happy with the perfomance at 300kw and that was his goal.. i dont think hes ever used those 300kw though so its still highly enjoyable for him.. and if he wishes to, he can go for 400 or more without having to go through the turbo swap again.. and it pulled 290 on 1.1bar... which is on par with his previous dyno readings with scott, it is rumoured that the insight dyno reads 15kw less than others. bakes's is also a very conservative tune as its street driven every single day, he needed it to be able to handle all conditions from summer to winter, and handle a change in pump fuel, be drivable off boost, and comes on boost without any notice of lag, and its very fuel efficient. thats because godzilla motorsport and insight are pals, and converse muchly regarding the tuning of vipec ecu's

sorry steve... i meant the gt3 RS...with the semi stripped interior and lack of alot of comforts.

thats a good point... a porsche 911 turbo doesnt strike me as a supercar, no... but a gt2 or gt3 does.. gt3 being unbearable and impractical on all accounts. on the other hand, the porsche 911 was a supercar in its early release, and has not changed for many many years... its stuck with a winning combo and just got better and better each time.. the point there being that this GTR to the purists is not a real gtr... a great car yes... but without the screaming straight 6 that its had from the kpgc10 and it doesnt have the boxy coupe type shape that the skyline has always had... its more a souped up 350z derived from the 240z/280z/300z platform... to add a little bit more to that... the 300zx was never a race car... it was a sports car.. a midlife crisis car for the man with a tweed beret and driving gloves... never a race car... that was the gtr's role.. it was born out of a need to beat porsches.

haha... ive never done much work in the hunter valley... i just turn up and clock on. -

turn the stereo up... keep driving.. my civic chews oil and has a noise in the bottom end and a noise in the top end and it has had the same noises for 3 years... still going strong... done 276000kms... ignorance is bliss... while ever it is still running and the bog holds the body together, i will keep driving... till death do we part.

Anyone After A Rolling R32 Gtst?
NZM.031 replied to NZM.031's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
nah no price... back into the project again... sorry guys, just went through a phase.. its tough having an undrivable car in the garage.. i just wanna go for a drive in something decent again. no seam welding as i still want it to be registered.. otherwise i would have done that and tubbed the front aswell.. coilovers - no, they were damaged after stack stock i/c - no, had no need for it fmic - yes. -
i think the statement below is what he was referring to what you've just described there is not a supercar... merely a really fast car really well designed for the masses, speed, power and handling have nothing to do with the overall scheme of things... holden could build a commodore to go fast round a track faster than a ferrari or porsche, doesnt make it a supercar though.. supercars are all about the quirks and perks and sheer ridiculousness of the whole ordeal... thats why they are supercars... they are impractical, obnoxious, unbearable and unique.... with all your links, youve just showed that the r35 gtr requires explanation of what it is and what it does, it needs to show what its capable of to earn respect, it may be quicker on paper and around the ring but a real supercar can command respect without even moving. heck, an american made tank lapped the ring quicker then the gtr nissan have made a real supercar before... this is not one of them and nothing like them.

travis... have a chat to bakes.. his is pulling 300awkw at 1.3bar (wanted to get cams this year and go for 350kw), was tuned by scott at insight, and it comes on hard at 4500rpm, pin you to the seat kind of hard... its only laggy if you let the revs drop down.. keep it up in the happy spot (4500-8000rpm) and its fantastic.

if its an NA, try a thicker oil... thinner oils are only really needed for turbos.. go something like castrol gtx2 or gtx 3... with 210000kms i dare say shes ready to collapse.. get a high mileage thick oil and hope for the best.
-
true... but if you dont have the option... then you just have to man up and take control.... or be like me and smack into a gutter and total your front suspension.... much cheaper to replace my front end at least. no amount of technology could have brought it back.. it happened so quick.

whats an lcd flat screen?? youre not watching your r35 though... youre driving it... thats why you would turn it all off... so that YOU the driver are the one responsible for the cars actions.... all of them... youre not the guy hand fabricating delicate parts.... youre the guy standing next to a production machine pressing a button and letting it do most of the work.
