  1. theres a topic on this in the motorsports thread... check there. do you need the crossmember for the sr20?? i have one sitting around.. was thinking of doing the same thing.
  2. is that so.... hmm, i might have to check that, ive fitted them without dramas.
  3. i agree... the best cars are the ones that dont have traction control, automatic gearboxes, flappy paddles, yaw control, abs, dampening control etc. etc. all driver controlled, AE86 FTW!!! the r35 just doesnt grab my attention, you cant lift the bonnet and go "whoa!" its all crammed in there, it looks messy, the interior is horrid, the dash is enourmous as is the steering wheel... ive not ever driven one or even sat in one... ive seen 2 driving and 4 in the flesh and they just dont have a wow factor that makes me want to know more about it... it has about as much gravity to me as a golf r32... i have no doubts that they are not an exhilarating drive and plenty fast.. just not my thing.... and they need better colours.. they just look dull and ordinary. the Nismo GTR is about the only one that ive given any attention to. 100 Cell Cat WTF is with that flange??? fark me!!! my dog can chew neater than that!
  4. it has everything there... i could put it all back together and drive it... the only parts it needs is a lhf flexible brake line and lhf tension rod... the shell is a 1993 model, still clean and straight... pics of the build up so far are here... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Nz...nd-t302564.html
  5. hey guys.. im toying with the idea of selling my r32 gtst that i was/am building up... its complied and registerable, and complete, just some bits are over here and some are over there, and the engine is on a stand, etc. at the moment from the windscreen forwards is completly stripped and painted.. and the interior is completly empty, but not stripped. located in east maitland nsw... easy access for car trailer or tilt tray etc. chassis is rolling... all parts are there, no good bits yet, all stock apart from exhaust and fmic. reason for bailing is i miss driving... all ive driven for the past 6 months is my work ute or my mrs' civic, with the occasional steer of a friends car. im going through a phase where i want an evo again. anyone have idea what its worth as i have no idea?? anyone looking for a shell to do up?? cheers Linton
  6. so where does a jap 6 point, off the shelf, bolt in roll cage stand??
  7. im behind it... as a spectator, so is the missus, old boy, and a few mates... ill be in it in a few years.... id pay $100 entry both days to see the awesomest cars on the planet!!! i totally agree with the great baron.. we are still a young, unpopulated country, with limited (if any) events for ballistic, outrageous cars... most competitions have to race around in different classes, stick to rules and regulations, etc and be well within their limits.. with international interest, this event can only get bigger.. if the politicians and random turds in charge can see it as a good thing, then there will be no stopping it.. it will be bigger than the F1!! or not... probably not... but it will be similar to the old group A days, seeing a variety of street cars battling it out for top spot.
  8. seriously mate... if you have no idea... then please do not post advice... this information is completly wrong. OP, there are many threads on here and ns.com... do a search and all shall be revealed. r32 is same as s13 r33 is 15mm longer and is same as s14. s13 has different ball joints as does s14 but noone really notices from what i can see... im not sure if the r32 balljoint wont fit in the s13 hub but s13 will fit r32, but the actual control arms are the same. if you have balljoint castor rods, they can bolt up to the r33 control arms, if you dont, you may need to re drill the castor rod holes to fit if you want it to move properly in its arc.
  9. umm.... why do you need to use the r32 bushes???
  10. looks great man... real smooth. love your work.
  11. OMG!!! YOU PUT THAT NICE NEW WHITE WHEEL ON THOSE YUCKY RUSTY BRAKES!!!!!!! offset is shit btw.... needs 25mm bolt on!!
  12. thats why its great that he is here.. i for one have very little knowledge of porsches, especially the later stuff.. and the fact that he is here on our humble little forum shows that money aside, he is a regular person, who enjoys his cars, he just has the means to be able to afford more expensive cars, also he is willing to share it with us, he is truly proud of it and so he should be.. hes not rubbing our noses in it, but allowing us to see porsche ownership in real time.
  13. he wuz abducted... you know... by dems little green men.. it happens every year.. its a bit of a "touchy" subject if you know what i mean.. not something he's proud of, but doesnt put up a fight never the less. i wouldnt worry too much... he'll be back shortly... hes a fast finisher. hahaha.
  14. dont be too quick to jump on mechanics man... im one, and i for one try to do the best quality work.. in your instance, it sounds you got screwed a little... but thats only one side of the story.. the workshop may tell another side of it... we'll never know. sometimes car troubles arent straight forward... sometimes they are difficult to suss out and sometimes it comes down to a matter of trial and error and eliminating problems one by one.. one way to look at it is, that for the next 10 years you wont have to worry about your water pump.. another thing is we mechanics are a judgemental lot... when it comes to nasty customers, we be nice to them.... iiiiifffff they be nice to us... we are providing a service because you dont want to do it, or cant do it... if you come off being all "do this, do that, and do it by this time" then you wont come off well.. and generally you'll get a below average job. im not having go at you as i dont know you, and ive seen workshops do it before.. its a shame.. but it happens.. now from what youve said... it sounds to me almost like your headgasket is on its way out.. hard starting, over heating under load, and low boost are all signs of a crack or pinhole in the headgasket. it may also be running leaner, your fuel pump could be on the way out aswell.. the ideal tune is as lean as possible and safe.. it may not be flowing as much as it did when new and the engine is restricting the boost as a fail safe.... i dont know i havent seen the car.. the power reading you got could be because everything goes better when its about to die.. it may actually be going better, or the dyno may be out of calibration, your tyres may not be as grippy on the rollers, or grippier, the air filter may be cleaner, etc, etc.. there are many reasons for a power increase of only 9kw.. dynos are never ever accurate.. they are meant to be a diagnostic tool... ideally used to replicate your car going up a hill under load and see whats happening, without leaving the workshop... cheers Linton
  15. i hope everyones learned a valuable lesson here.. never argue with an idiot... they will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience. close this thread, we've had our fun.
  16. yeah maroon and white looks good... keep in mind though, if you get white rims, you'll have to get your car log booked and it will need to meet alot more requirements set by ANDRA (the australian drag racing association), it will need a proper approved roll cage and parachute... so your probs best to just get silver or bronze wheels... save the hassle.
  17. im sorry... my keyboard is f**ked... i meant to say $8900... so $6500 is a damn good deal.
  18. vorks arent cheap man... but you get what you pay for. ive seen them for around $890 a set (of 4) with really good race spec tyres designed especially to be used in conjunction with those wheels.
  19. you dont get much of a choice with the vorks unfortunatly, as they are a full racing rim, they only make them in special racing sizes... for ideal racing conditions.. you want 17" rims.
  20. valks are shit man, so are volks... do yourself a favour and get Vorks. your lappy is f**ked because you press them hard.
  21. that shit'll buff out. actually doesnt look like theres a great deal of damage... the windows are intact, the roof panels arent squashed, probs salvage a few anyway.
  22. omg!!!! our little guy is growing up... he nearly finished a completely legible sentence.. all by himself.
  23. officeworks... wireless keyboard and mouse combo... $39.00 htast 1% of weat yuve spent udner teh boopnet of yor r23
  24. no hate fest here.... ive harpooned a whale before... let it go though.. best it could do was 12.01 1/4... just could not get it into the 11's, but then again, i had a gtr wang on it.... good for track work and cutting through the air around corners, not good in a straight line though. drftin33.... you're different... the rest of us are mostly the same.
  25. isnt it cool to watch dragonball z when you turn 12 and start highschool??
