Mixed responses you will have for this. I have used this technique for a friends r32 gts-t at those carwashes and all we did was put a plastic bag over the pod filter. my ex bmw i used to hand wash all the time as i would was the car and hose it down my ex r33 i would spray citrus based degreaser in a can over the tough spots and hose down never had a problem but i would use a chammy to dry as much water as possible then start the car and drive it for at least 15minutes to evaporate any water left hope that helps

R34 Gtr Vspec Transfer Case
Johnny replied to Jsikalias's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
What happened to yours? did it break I would try calling some tuning shops and they usually have contacts with part importers. Are r33/32 gtr transfer cases exchangable? -

Use viagra if you want 'response' lolz I read an article about using nos to help spool up a large turbo, i think it was by autosound. Like a 50hp shot on the track can shave a good few tenths off the time. -

Hey guys, Ive been wondering if anyone makes upgrade washer bottles for skylines? I was looking at mine and realised how ugly it is and would really like something in the alloy range. Perhaps even a replacement for the radiator overflow bottle too. Seen some incredible ones by RIPS in nz but at a cost of 500-1000ish, its a price i dont think i could justify I saw on nengun that greddy make one but cant find a pic of it anywhere; anyone help? The sproket thingy is the washer jet any help would be appreciated -Johnny

You are kidding me! in a GTT too, RWD!!!!! still 2.6 or stroker? Well done mate. -
Im almost 100% sure its the battery now cos when i had my old POS, it took sometimes 2-3 attempts to get my engine started. I would definitely get a drycell as ive had a bad experience with my s15; acid leaked and damaged some of the paint in the engine bay. That said, im not sure if some good brands still leak? Unfortunately dry cells are a little expensive with good brands like odyssey going for over 200. Ill check my brand for you in a minute, I paid 110 for mine + 90 for the trickly charger so i wont have that problem again. Check your plugs too, if they need replacing grab some iridiums: Try this bloke, i bought NGK iridiums from him for my beema and he sells for skylines too; very good prices. Performancelub He trades on ebay too so search for him.

oh, hows your battery? when my battery was always almost flat, my car would start-then-stall. It dosent happen now that i have a new dry cell and trickle charger.

thats true; like i said i used the wrong words but use imagination to get an idea of my driving impression

Lolz autocorrect is soooo annoying. not bad avatar huh! In 03 i couldnt afford a brand new m3 so i bought a 325i instead and i must say it was the best car i have ever owned; balance of quality, comfort and design. m3gtr: you forgot to add the rest of my quote; the car reacts to bumps, creases and cambers on the road. I doubt i used the correct wording like 'torque steer' but its my impression.
-
Hey, Car looks nice. the car being on the track is fine just make sure the engine is running well. A side swipe can mean many things; what angle was it at? if it was a T-bone then the chassi could have been warped but if it was just a rebound then it should be fine. what speed also was it hit at drive it on the freeway at over the speed limit and see if the car vibrates or drifts to one side excessively.
-
I posted my opinions on both before but i thought id add one last thing the gtr is not a good cruiser, the combination of engine torque, awd, race suspension and 4 hard/fat tyres makes the car difficult to keep straight, i think they call it 'torque steer' Basically any bumps, cracks, creases or cambers on the road; you must make constant adjustment to the steering wheel to drive in a straight line, I have to keep both hands on the steering wheel to be comfortable. It was a complaint most automotive journalists had with the ford focus rs and its front differential. I will say this though; a basic modded GTR with exhaust, air intake, 1bar of boost and power fc tune will destroy an m3. As i have driven the m3 for a long period i must say it dosent come anywhere near the violence of the GTR.

I believe the bmw m5 has a twin turbo kit which mounts them at the rear of the car. Nets an extra 200ish hp this is the new m5 btw. the older 5litre v8 m5 has a twin turbo kit in the US. -again some useful info for bmw enthusiasts.

Would love to but my loyalties lie with meguiars. lolz

Cool thread, thanks man.

Sure mate, here a link to my dyno thread, second post i have some pics of the car. Notice the mirror reflections on the bonnet lolz. Pics I have used nothing but the meguairs range for a long time, tried turtle wax and threw 2 bottles away just 2 days ago. I have had much experience on my 03 e46 silver BMW, my black r33 s2, yellow s15 200sx. cheers Johnny

Razzaamatazz pantyhose is the best filter around. Provides good filtration with mimimal restriction and can double as a condom if you suddently run out. Find em in the safeway isle for other feminne hygiene products.

Forgot to add The paint test technique -Wash the car and shammy dry -Take a plastic freezer bag and put your hand in it -Feel the cars paint -If the car has bonded contaminants it will feel bumpy, even like sandpaper.

Basically the was finish is only as good as the prep work before application. My r34 GTR took over 25hours over a period of several days to complete and involved alot of elbow grease. I am an avid fan of meguairs and use nothing but! basically to get the best results you must -wash -Use meguiars chemical paint cleaner -Use meguairs claybar and quickdetailer x 2 passes -Rewash -Use meguiars step 2 polish which is a non-abrasive -Finally apply 2 coatings of NXT gen wax. -Use nothing but microfibre towels for removal of products and meguiars applicator pads. -I also covered the car with a satin bedsheet overnight between stages. The wax is a synthetic and will last a looooooong time

Tuning will net you a total of 2kw/atw. If you want my dyno graph let me know. I was pissed to hand over the sub $1000 mark for the power increase of a female vibrator.

Now thats what im talking about!!!!!! Write back when you have driven the car for the first time, every1 loves to read about that. Congrats man, Im now NVUS

s15's are an amazingly sexy shape stock. r34 gtt's are quite ugly unless they have the nismo kit and look quite anorexic. sr20 tuned will make some nice power but must rev and those motors are prone to popping rocker arms and scorring camshafts and possibly lodging in the timing chain. This is from personal experience with my old s15. the NA r33 i owned was the most reliable thing ever! the rb25 is a torquey motor with bigger capacity and after 20,000kms of thrashing everyday of its life it ran perfectly and never broke down. Both cars drive fine though; the skyline has lighter steering while the s15 is a little firmer but feels steady. My verdict is the s15: only 4 cylinders so better fuel economy better stock looks.

Today i added the rest of the bottle of octane booster to the tank containing only about 10litres of fuel. Highest knock reading was 28 at 7800rpm so still very safe but up a couple of points. The road was as smooth as possible to reduce road noise registering a reading. Boost spiked to 1.2bar as it was a hard launch in 1st/2nd. Daaaamn my car is fast: 0-100 in under 5seconds easy! I will buy the product again when summer comes and then do some more.
