  1. I just had that problem yesterday on my gtr and yes the engine was cold. it also happened to my bmw, s15 and r33. Would it be something to do with fuel pressure? try 2 clicks of the ignition and wait till you hear the fuel pump 'whirring' to stop; then crank it. I always start my cars like this now but yesterday when my gtr stall'd i didnt. ??? perhaps some1 else has an idea.
  2. Im glad your engine is in good nick! ill post you my thread with both dyno graphs so you can compare them to yours. do you have yours avail to post on here? Dyno check out the RB26 power thread in the FI section for some more comparisons. May i ask who did your tuning?
  3. The mechanic would probably have disconnected the front drive to run it rwd. Im kinda concerned bout your power though, I had my first dyno run at protek and they only managed 235awkw costing $400ish. Wasnt happy so i took it to CREATD ms and they tuned it to 255awkw costing $500ish. Alot of ppl will back me to say, its all down to the skill of the tuner. have you had a compression test on ur car?
  4. They do steal from ya dont they!!! my wallet hasnt really closed since i got my gtr. Well done on the power but it seems a bit low to me; my car is on 255awkw/270-290rwkw at 14psi with stock turbz, stock dumps, stock front, stock cams/gears. If i missed something here i apologize; perhaps a low reading dyno?
  5. I thought he was Tez' son too lolz. Police are not even allowed to open your bonnet, you must pull the latch and open it as they cant touch it. good cause to search your vehicle is only if they believe you may be carrying drugs; acting suspiciously etc. Only then they are allowed to touch things. Personal opinion: i wouldnt spend money on a radar, i just dont speed when driving A to B. When i want to speed i do it on the freeway at like 3-4am when there is no1 around.
  6. Ive owned a gts4 and now a gtr and i must say that the awd is an amazing addition to a performance car. My gtr makes 255awkw and even in the heavy pouring rain it will take straight off in a straight line without fishtailing. You can get it sideways but it will be more a 4 wheel drift which looks cool to onlookers without you looking like a retard when you stack it into a gutter. I also had an s15 and that thing even with 166rwkw was a handful in the rain, dangerous! but then again im not a good driver, i cant drift.
  7. I kinda want an astra vxr turbo, they are pretty cool and come with a warranty so you can drive it like you stole it.
  8. I bought some about 2 days ago and tested it but no solid results. the thread about it is in the general section, take a look.
  9. how cool is that! but how do you fit inside it to drive? lolz
  10. I dont think quarter mile times are the be-all and end-all of buying a car. cmon the m3 offers launch control but it logs how many times you perform one into the ECU as well as the bmw key and can void your warranty if you do more than say 5. How many times can u launch an r34 before you blow the clutch or gearbox; it aint like the 33 or 32 where you can get one for like 500bux. The getrag is very rare and will b around 3500-5000 if you fark it

    Shift Kit?

Looks good to me! If you buy a bmw m3 steering wheel with paddles it can be installed into any e46 based bmw with a tiptronic gb and allows you to do the same thing. -Some extra info for the bmw fans here.
  12. Barbie girl - Aqua lolz Disturbia - Rihanna Just dance - Lady Gaga No air - Jordin Sparks Energy - Keri Hilson If I never see your face - Rihanna and Maroon 5 These are my current drivin' songs
  13. Hey Ross, thanks for the kind words! Again today i gave my car a thrash and added more of the octane booster and still not changes. My knocks remained constant at 15-23ish which is probably road noise. Like i said before i will wait for a hot day to see if there is any changes but that might not be for a little while. Hope this info saves you from the 20dollar curiosity but ill let you know if anything changes on a hot day.
  14. Item: Nismo Edition NGK Iridium Plugs Age: 800-900kms Condition: Nice Price: ??? 80bux To Fit: Mildly modified turbo cars with usual bolt-on mods Location: Northern suburbs Melbourne Contact: PM or through thread Comments: Was installed when my car was complied 6months ago, I bought a set of IRITOP7's not knowing what i actually had installed and when i changed the plugs to my surprise i found these. Part Number is: T7340-8 -Pics will be posted soon.
  15. Item: Billion VFC Pro - Variable fan controller Age: ? Probably a few years Condition: Nice Price: $150 To Fit: ?? Im sure most cars Location: Northern suburbs Melbourne Contact: PM or through thread Comments: Cosmetically in fantastic condition; comes with wiring loom -Basically it works by controlling either your OEM electric fan to come on at a pre-set temperature or it can be used to control auxillary thermo fans. -Great for traffic or track duties
  16. Item: HKS EVC electronic boost controller Version 3 Age: ? Probably a few years Condition: Nice Price: $180 To Fit: Any turbo car, external or internal gated settings Location: Northern suburbs Melbourne Contact: PM or through thread Comments: Installation and setup manual will be posted on this thread or printed out to send -Basically this was removed from my r34 gtr as i upgraded to a version 6. The in-cabin module was a little too boring for my like and i like flashy things. -Dyno sheet provided to show how well it holds boost. -Cosmetically its in a very nice condition with no real defects and the solenoid looks very clean and hi-tech compared to say an AVCR solenoid.
  17. Goodmorning Tez, long time since i touched base with ya! Ive got some great new pics of my car, check em out mate! New pics By the way, what do you think of the octane boosters, the toluene etc?
  18. ??? Your not Terry's son are you??? If so its nice to meet you. I didnt study much organic chemistry, only medical science. Ph.D.....gimme a couple of years. I will be careful with the toluene, Ive been exposed to some agents similar and have lost some of my eyesight; thats not a joke.
  19. Hey Ross, I managed to buy the octane booster today; its a 'Wynns race formula octane booster' which cost about 20dollars and treats 40-60 litres. I ran my car today and reached a peak of around 15-21 knocks to which i persisted to add the product to around 20litres of fuel (V-power) After the addition my knocks only reached 13-15 constantly over many 2nd and 3rd gear full boost loads. To me its not a real indication that the product is any good but i still have about half a bottle left and i will wait for a hotter day; around 27-30ish degrees to re-do the test. Now road noise is a big factor in the knocking as the tuner, last wednesday who i instructed to get as low as possible said that he couldnt get them any lower even with retarding the ignition and perfect AFR so he is 100% certain that its all ambient noises. Hope you enjoy the read.
  20. Looks interesting; kinda like myface or spacebook. Ill join up and see if its any good.
  21. Ive got this nismo one, its pretty pricey but looks like it came from factory.
  22. I used to turn the overdrive off and let it run in 3rd gear on roads which have a slight incline. Definitely fine: more revs but less load on the engine and less fuel.
  23. When i wanted to buy a new car i went to the bmw dealership and test drove the m3 and loved everything about it, having owned the same model bmw but a 325i i was excited about the upgrade but then i ended up buying the r34 gtr. m3 -high quality of build, heavy doors and nothing rattles -settles down to a cruise on the freeways -better fuel consumption -looks are great but then again so is the gtr -not too bad service costs, you dont need to go to bmw for everything. Oil changes are basically 22bux for a filter and they use castrol edge 0w40, pollen filters and all other basic service parts can be ordered from america for a fraction of cost in dealership. -Engine is expensive to rebuild if you blow it -1000hp turbo kit avaliable from the US via horsepower freaks for 30k aus GTR -More head turning looks then the m3 -Terrible ride quality and too low so the nose scrapes everywhere -engine is always humping your leg like a jack russel with its pink thing hanging out -Dosent settle down when u just want to cruise -Lots of creaks and noises from suspension, interior components etc -Heavy clutch (depends on hd clutch installed or not) -More engine mods avaliable and extracting power is easy -Engine is easy to rebuild if it goes Anyways i probably have forgotten some things but I wish i bought the M3.
  24. So true, Ive eaten kebabs and produced a brown baby boy that looks better then the new rex.
  25. I think it looks better crashed! Maybe someone might actually pay money for it now
