  1. When you look at the list of high powered engines this guy has developed in the last 15 years in Japan from the Drag33 to time attack engines down to current GTR35, you know he has got a little bit of knowledge of what he's doing, plus he's got the runs on the board having built literally 100's of race engines and high performance cars. End of the day its the complete package that makes everything come together to give a car that has buckets of torque, great power delivery on low boost and isnt going to go bang. Also you might want to have a real good look at a few other top Japanese engine builders like Jun etc and see what they do. Are they doing it or have they done it wrong ?? These guys were pushing the boundries of the RB before most owners here were out of wetting their beds. Its easy to say yes this is proven and thats proven but how many of you guys have built engines and own cars like these guys in Japan have built and still do. Have you guys actually been and seen what the Jap top tuners build ??? For example in Australia how many 9 sec cars are there..Japan 10 years ago they were being pumped out left right and centre. Nowdays hardly any and thats due to economic differences e.g Japan is going down the tube big time so nobody has the coin anymore. Sadly the RB in Japan today is a dinasaur, alike to the old golden Holden 308 , yes parts are still available and the odd build still happens but this is due to just being for bread and butter money. The focus now and the in future is well and truly the GTR35. At the end of the day you have to look at what Pauls building here. This is not a knuckledragger engine, its being built for all round high performance and high response so he can take it out to the circuit and go very quick but still enjoy a Sunday drive but have all sorts of anger under the loud pedal.
  2. Got a good giggle out of that Stevo !!
  3. Theres more going on with this head than just a port /polish job. Been all machined up at Naprec to HKS race specs and then some custom work by HKS. It has been designed purely for response and slamming his arse hard back in the seat and fro getting around a track nice and quick. Pauls head has a bit more done to it than mine and has been built to handle 600~650kw if he ever chooses to go down that path. Anyway this is Pauls build so wait a few weeks and he'll let you see whats what and at the end of the day it all comes down to what it does when it's all bolted together and tuned properly. It will be interesting to see how it all ends up.. Hopefully one day maybe a V-cam and those new turb's that Gav has, it would be quite an animal.
  4. The guy in Japan who has done all the port/polish and r&d on the head has built more high powered full race engines, 9 sec drag engines and drift spec engines then most porn stars have ever had roots. And yes its polished as well. Why..you'll need to ask him about it but as one of Japans top engine builders who has built 100's of high spec engines, I think he has a resonable idea of what he's doing. But hey everyone has their opinions. And Paul its 445kw @ 1.3bar
  5. Paul (Piggaz) you should throw a pic or 2 up of your clutch to show people what these things look like after being abused.
  6. No not necessarily true.. It will depend on the type of racing you want to do. e.g doing clubman type events you just pay entry fee , attend drivers meeting and possibly you might have to a physical drive test on short course before being allowed to run full course. Mainly this is just so you know their rules and flags. You will be under much scrutiny being a gaijin and will help to be able to speak Japanese or have someone who can translate for you at the very least. Other options are open drift days, just pay entry and go the hack or with the vast amount of smaller tracks in Japan you can do a private hire for around ,3500yen ~5,000 for 2hr session. For this you will need to become a member of the track club and probably will need an introduction from a member. A lot of tracks have these open days on their monthly schedule so just a matter of booking in and paying the fee. A lot of fun ! Best bet try to get friendly with some local Japanese weekend race crew and you'll have no problems getting out having some fun. Cars are cheap to buy and for a fee can be stored at some tracks.
  7. Looks like the large fonts etc is a Firefox thing on Mac as on Safari and Google Chrome the sites all good !!
  8. I asked a mate of mine at HKS Japan and he said it's a HKS 4 way Circuit and racing suspension kit that HKS stopped producing about 10 years ago. He cant remember the model number but they were available for GTR32/33/34. He said very hard to come by now.
  9. Overall size of font across the page is pretty large. be good if there was custom function to say choose between 3-4 font sizing. Screen shots Cant really see in the screen shots but font sizing for me is like reading a book with large print. Bar that it all looks good !!
  10. Anyway of personally changing the size of the font on the pages ?? Mines for some who needs 1 inch thick glasses ...too big !!
  11. Nismo Opening Hours English : http://www.nismo.co.jp/shop/shop/omori/shop/index_en.html Nismo Opening Hours Japanese : http://www.nismo.co.jp/omori_factory/access_map/index.html Always check the Japanese site and look at the calendar. Red highlighted days are when Nismo is closed !!
  12. Terry I think you'll have to buy aftermarket fittings if not complete kit as pretty sure it comes as a full kit from Nismo. You could get some fittings made up as the only thing you really see is the tank, the fittings are covered in rubber hose. I suppose its how genuine do you want to be. Theres a pdf with the below link that has better pics of parts. http://www.nismo.co.jp/en/products/competition/engine/rb26dett.html#oils If no luck let me know as heading back to Japan soon.
  13. Your kidding right !! I dont jump in on these threads much but I've seen plenty of cars in Japan running 1.3 bar and pushing well over 400kw. I know of a few floating around oz as well. You dont need big boost to make response and power, just a well built motor top to bottom.
  14. The bar has been set...period !
  15. There's a few monsters that will be at HKS Premium day next month, full lineup for the GTR35 GT-R Speed max has not been fully confirmed but there are some brutes on the list I'll be there with bells on.

  17. Surface mail is Land/Air so technically no go. Sea Post..it all goes in a container on a boat !! If your dealing with a Japanese seller then as Roach says he will be over cautious..trust me , he will be at the post office dripping sweat, stammering when trying to post that staff will think he has a bomb in the box.
