Hey Dave Punching in the phone number doesnt always work on Jap GPS as sometimes it cant find the place and will just give you the general area of the phone prefix. Thats when you will need to know kanji to punch in the address of where your going... Most of the time punching in the phone number works but not everywhere has a landline and for example Fuji doesnt have a phone number. Best way is check for a hotel or something nearby on the net and punch the number in. Most rent a car places newer gps can be switched to english pretty easy but if the gps cant find the place using the phone number you will still have to punch it in using Japanese.

Got my EOS 1n mk2 body in at Canon Japan for full service. Dropped it in around 10 days ago and ready to pick up at the end of the week. Got to love the Japanese service.

These are dime a dozen from most Auto shops in Japan and are cheap as chips.

I didnt realise this was the traders forum ? Shouldn't trading be keep to appropriate traders forum instead of whoring for business in regular forums. Just pm the guy if you want to sell parts and keep the regular forums for what they are meant for. Other traders seem to be able to do that .

Nismo Gt500 Rrr Engine Block
elrodeo666 replied to elrodeo666's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Still for sale and still in Japan and can be freighted anywhere in the world !! Price semi negotiable. -
Daikoku is a funny place as usually Fri and Sat nights are the busy nights but you can get surprised and catch it good on a week night and even on a Sunday night. Like Nytsky said around 2 hrs using toll roads to Fuji. You wont need to leave super early but coming back on a Sunday will be a bitch ..period!! It will be busy all around Fuji as its Momiji time (紅葉) Autumn leaves change colour and half of Tokyo will be out checking it out. I'd go via Hakone and have a Dr Spock at Hakone town and continue up the mountain on Hakone pass and Hakone Skyline. Great driving roads, heaps of fun and some great views and history. You can get across to Fuji from there and back to Tokes and into the hell traffic jam. You could try come back along the coast via Shonan then to Yokohama and hit Daikoku from there. Ask your rent a car joint to throw your navi into english which will make it easier for you..well sort of as you will still need to punch in address or place name in ping pong.

Fs: Craft Square Carbon Fibre Mirrors
elrodeo666 replied to PM-R33's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Can vouch for the quality of Craft Square mirrors as have a set sitting in my house in Japan ready to go on my car for when I finally get back to Oz for a few weeks. Good luck with the sale...top quality mirrors and look the goods as well !! -
Might be over kill but I try to drink bottled water only and when I'm at my house I drink from the tap as water as it comes direct from underground volcanic spring and is as fresh clean water as you can get. Have had it tested and I could bottle it and sell the stuff. There hasn't been any bad levels of radiation where my house is (nearly 800plus k's from the power plant) but still very carefull what goes in my body. Problem is the food !! Every week they find hot spots and contaminated food plus theres farmers taking food from dodgy areas and selling in different parts of Japan and saying its grown there. I dont touch anything from Honshu only food from Hokkaido and try to eat as much import food from other countries eg. Aussie Beef. Theres some pretty major smoke screen bullshit going on from the Japanes government and Tepco and I wouldnt trust a word they say. Also theres a few websites going round which show real time radiation levels which is all being monitored by non government organizations but they are all in Japanese only. Japanese government has only now started random food testing in supermarkets across Japan. I think you will find in the future that a lot of people will have been seriously affected by radiation. As for fish from sea... I would not go near it as they have found high traces of radiation 100's of km's up and down the coast from f*kushima. Got a mate who is a fisherman off Chiba and they test the fish they catch and a hell of a lot comes up positive but just under the so called safe limits. Independent testing has found very high levels in the Pacific Ocean over 300km's north and south of the plant. Experts reckon the radiation will take up to 30 years to clean up and break down.

You cant hunt the bears as they are protected but they sure can hunt you. They have been coming into towns quite a lot this year as looking for easy food. There are plenty of deer around and even though they are protected as well I have a couple of dodgy Japanese mates(ones with parts of missing fingers) who pack the odd compound bow int the car on fishing trips. They make bloody good eating. Couple of bears that wandered too close to town and got shot and stuffed...

Been doing a bit of fishing up in northern Japan (NE tip of Hokkaido) as Sept~Oct was salmon spawning season. Plenty of easy fish to catch but biggest hassle is not to get eaten by bears. Its an absolute must to have at least 2 of you, one person can fish and one to keep an eye out spotting bears as they are on the hunt feeding up for winter. Every year a few people get eaten !!

Thought I'd let you know that your car is getting a bit of exposure in a few of the popular Japanese Auto publications (Option,Option2 , Rev Speed) and on DVD here in Japan.

No beers have been consumed for almost a week. I know where Fuji is and know that Tokes can and does get cold and especially coming from an Oz summer it can be a bit of a shock to the system. Yep no need for thermals but when the winds out of the N-NW it can be quite crisp and brass monkey weather. I've seen snow in Chiba. A few safe sappy cans on the way and a few nips of Jack stashed in your jacket should keep you plenty warm when watching outside events. Didnt go last year events but been to plenty of Tas's before. 50/50 if I'll go this year but going to Tokyo Motor show in a few weeks, then Nismo and then Rev Speed @ Tsukuba

Ha Roach you obviously never been at Fuji Speedway late Janaury with freezing cold wind blowing off Fuji...F@#king cold mate and Ive lived almost 10 years in Hellkaido. I'm in Hellkaido now at my house in the mountains and it snowed last night. Tomorrow is supposed to be a nice day so I'll get some snaps. Mate watch the food you eat as there is a lot of contaminated stuff about. Dont be afraid to ask where your meat or veggies are from and if from some of the hot spot areas, give it a miss. Jap goverment is still being extremely sly on a lot of stuff in regards to radiation so just be wary when eating out and its a good idea to buy bottled water and drink as much Sapporo beer as you like.

Got a mate (Aussie) in Tokyo that is a fitness trainer but in all honesty you've got more chance getting work as an exchange lifeguard. You will need primo Japanese and in all reality most Japanese people going to gyms dont want to associate with a round eye. You will also need certificates in how to train people in the most dangerous manner possible. Seriously, if you go in to a commercial gym in Japan you will be shocked at what fitness trainers get people to do. Absolutely no f-ing idea, period !

Rubber bands and shadow boxing in front of the mirror. Bands stretch heaps and let you keep speed. Remember definition of power is strength x speed You want to learn to hit hard then get on the net and do a search on tyson when he was young and being trained by Cus D'Amato. He had Tyson punching and moving super fast but hitting like a mack truck.
