    Mph Vs Power

I bought mine from a wrecker in SA. Facebook groups and wrecker websites

    Mph Vs Power

OS GIKEN triple plate at the time. Have now upgraded to a quad plate as a result of a misdiagnosis. I've got a 6 speed GETRAG though

    Mph Vs Power

i did exactly the same. i lowered rear tyre pressure to 14 and Adam turned up the 2step. next launch snapped the rear shaft.
  4. Gee good thing I didn't go 1.45... bit of stuffing around to squeeze it in. Interested to see much of a power and lag difference this actually makes. Back to back dynos please
  5. OS Giken R3C Triple plate clutch for sale. It was slipping on my car so I have upgraded to a quad plate. Would suit with someone with up to 500kw. We opened it up and it looks to be on very good condition (see pictures) so I can't envisage it slipping at around 500kw of power. Some bigger power cars are running these with no issues. Put a genuine OS Giken pull to push converter on your getrag and this clutch has epic street manners and driveability while being able to hold big power. Pic below and inspections are welcome. These retail for around 3,000 and I'm asking 1,500. Located Western Sydney PM if interested Cheers
  6. For those who are interested on some racing results on the 9180. I ran 10.4 @ 140.68 mph today at GTR festival before my triple plate decided to shit itself. The haltech log showed 2nd, 3rd and 4th had full boost of 30 psi with 35 psi only being achieved in 5th. Now in the process of upgrading to an eboost2 as the profec II just doesn't have the flexibility needed. This will help with more boost and hence more power in 2nd, 3rd and 4th hopefully resulting in bigger mph and lower ET.
  7. extra capacity/built engine makes a big difference. You come on around 1,000RPM earlier compared to my 2.6 with 9.180 - you get going at 5,000RPM where mine comes on song around 5,800 RPM
  8. Ok. Bit of an update Car is now running an EFR 9180. Still factory Nissan bottom end with factory pump and sump. On 35 psi it made 580kw on JEMs dyno. Recent Sydney winter weather has been bumping up the boost and it's hit 39 psi a few times now and still survived. On 39 psi you'd think it'd be 610-630kw on the same dyno....??
  9. Borgy is loving the cooler weather.... dunno if my motor wants it too much longer...
  10. Might try starting in 1st to get the 9180 to come quicker. See how 50km reacts in 1st lol
  11. pretty straight forward to convert although apparently when converting into a 33, you have to remove a part or not connect a part (or something...... my mechanic mentioned it to me once) so on idle/at traffic lights the box just rattles lol. bit annoying but you get used to it. other than that its awesome for street use. Not so awesome for the strip or roll racing as I'm changing into 5th just before the line. Also a bit worried if i break something then it would be a very expensive exercise to repair. Also an FYI - if all goes to plan I'll be heading out to WSID on 11th April to see what this extra power does for ET and MPH. Stay tuned.
  12. I did change from a 5 speed to a 6 speed (with factory 33 diff) between those tunes, which would have a material impact on the dyno graphs. I.e. it's not as bad/laggier as the dyno shows it to be.
  13. that add includes turbo setup as well. has he given a price for just the motor ?
  14. OS Giken Racing Triple Plate. For hill drive, I'd recommend the 8374. 9180 on 2.6L probably too big. Dyno comparison is on the way...
  15. It's smoother than the 8374. The 8374 felt snappier when it came on. This isn't. Low down there is noticeable lag compared to 8374 but once IMO it's perfectly acceptable to drive around town once ur up in the red range. My short ratio getrag also helps with drive ability. Top end is mental. Even as the driver I felt a little scared as too how quickly it picked up speed. 5500 to 8500 is where it all happens on 2.6 so a stroker and 9k rev limit with this turbo would make for an incredible street car.
  16. Picked it up and drive it home in muggy 37 degree weather. Initial impression. It's def lazier than the 8374 down low. You can notice the small lack of pick up and low down but transient response and pick up from say 3.5k and up is very similar to the 8374. Couldn't really give it the beans on such a hot day. I put my foot down once in 2nd and it did take a while to come on song and was only hitting 31psi due to weather. Haven't really felt new top end grunt. Will take it out on a cooler night to really test it but at this stage, on a mild 2.6, the 8374 is a better option for a street car. TBC.
  17. Some more data. 8374 on gate pressure at 22 psi made 390kw 9180 on gate pressure at 22 psi made 422kw Unsure of turbine speeds at those boost levels
