I had a constant clicking noise via air conduit flaps and propeller (on a BCNR33). A quick fix by my panelbeater friend involved 3 steps. 1) Open up air intake option (ie don't have recirculation operating) 2) Spray high quality silicone down each vent through its thin stalk 3) Turn vacuum cleaner to blow mode (if available); but a compressor hose will do the same. My clicking stopped for over a year > repeated the process before I sold the car

Yes Peter, NRMA reduced recently the car's age threshhold from 20 yrs old down to 15. Modifications make virtually no difference to the premium paid; but should be stated, so that replaced parts should conform to what has been listed. After you get your quote, give us feedback (especially in General Automotive section)! Nice surprise in store for you I think.

Is your BNR34 15yrs old yet and does it do less than 9000Kms per yr? If so there's good news!

I'm not sure about your age as a restriction but... NRMA Vintage Veteran and Classic will insure all cars over 15yrs old so long as they're not driven over 9,000Kms/yr and are secured properly. Premiums are much cheaper than Just Car, Shannon's, NRMA (regular) or Dawes. Now the message has gone interstate to include SGIC and SGIO Vintage, Veteran and Classic. If you want your parent/s to own the car nominally, you must be a nominated driver on the policy.

Yes Mark, all who attended to-day will too I stated in my interview that I wouldn't have the cars I do now except for two criteria... 1) Skylines Aust from a friend and network perspective and... 2) A good importer who can check the history of the car, physically look at it (if poss), and then bid (if at auction) a fraction beyond a 'round figure' (according to value). The two guys on either side of me in the pic, own a R34 GT-R V-Spec II and V-Spec II Nur respectively which were sourced from private sellers, before they could go to auction. I wonder what they said in their interviews!

GT-R Magazine... has been in town covering the GT-R Scene in Sydney as well as WTAC. After considering several Importers to interview and take pictures, JLM at Rydalmere was selected to host the 'inquisition' to-day. CEO Todd O'Donnell agreed with the Editor, Shinichi Yamazaki that a group of owners be interviewed about... * their cars * the cars' performance * modifications * how the owners came to buy GT-Rs * what network exists on how the right GT-R can be sourced * what type of activities exist for owners to run their GT-Rs at their optimum * who runs these activities ...and finally, pictures to be taken of owners and their cars. 14 cars and their owners will be featured in GT-R Magazine next year! Yay! Interviews and pics have just finished as I write this. Two DR30s were also sourced including Liz' whose car was also happy-snapped by the Editor himself - most impressed was he! My Mag - Autographed on the cover by the the photographer Takahiro Masuda earlier to-day.
