  1. I've actually asked Todd and Kristian to locate for me, a Lizterry 'er a Kenmeri - lol I wonder what Yamazakisan would think of that! I had trouble explaining to him what my 1977 240K was! Through two translators, it was still so difficult! How did other people's interviews go?
  2. This makes me think Liz, "What did Yamazakisan and Masudasan think of our cars?" I would have loved to have eavesdropped on their conversations on their way back to Narita. I guess we'll find out soon enough...
  3. hmmm... that wasn't newsworthy - lol
  4. C/f Nismo style bootlip for my R32 for $240 will be acceptable thanks. Confirm via PM with details please.
  5. "Fraudulent accident claims throughout certain parts of Sydney" was one theory proposed by investigative reporters for a TV show a few years back.
  6. Todd's going to ask about whereabouts of English Issues of GT-R and also about continuity (and via email if we have to).
  7. I had a constant clicking noise via air conduit flaps and propeller (on a BCNR33). A quick fix by my panelbeater friend involved 3 steps. 1) Open up air intake option (ie don't have recirculation operating) 2) Spray high quality silicone down each vent through its thin stalk 3) Turn vacuum cleaner to blow mode (if available); but a compressor hose will do the same. My clicking stopped for over a year > repeated the process before I sold the car
  8. Yes Peter, NRMA reduced recently the car's age threshhold from 20 yrs old down to 15. Modifications make virtually no difference to the premium paid; but should be stated, so that replaced parts should conform to what has been listed. After you get your quote, give us feedback (especially in General Automotive section)! Nice surprise in store for you I think.
  9. Aaah > Back To The Future ...through an Archive Forum Luke Some guys to-day at JLM were wondering when the next cruise was on! If my car is out, I'll be in! Ta.
  10. Great pics there; assisted by those clouds diffusing some of the glare? Extra filter? What time of day were these taken approx?
  11. Aggroman, Piggaz and myself use Sutton & Son 5 Bellona Ave Regents Park 02-96442628 Talk to Neil. Peter of Bodyformaero and mxfly use G&S Bodyworks 81 Larra St Yennora 02-96812686 Talk to Gus or Sam. All the best...
  12. hehe... Raj. I just happened to have a (SAU) 'Club hat' on to-day. Last month's issue was #118. At $38.12 a pop in Japanese (through Kinokuniya Bookshop), it makes for an expensive collection! These do come out quarterly don't they?
  13. Lol > I had a great deal of trouble explaining through two interpreters in Yumiko and Edifier what a Texi was!!! Liz was laughing!!! I was gesticulating about how cars (GT-Rs) had to go through cones in a form of time trial. (And I didn't have the heart to mention that MX-5s have punched above their weight - ROFL) If Eric, a liaison is established because of to-day, I can't see why all states should collectively negotiate a quota of GT-R Magazines in English come to our shores. Thoughts? Anyway that's now an Exec agenda item - maybe at the General Meeting perhaps?
  14. ...am being coached by Masuda-san as to where I should look - and get that damn cap off! I simply obey. There was a great bunch of Members and Import Customers yes with pristine cars, waiting to be interviewed - and pics taken.
  15. Absolutely Brett; although Andy Middlehurst of St Helens Nissan knew he was onto a good thing by making the ones below official in the UK! Here's one on show to-day. And the BNR32 across the road was another of the 14. Don't the magnesium 7Kg wheels make you drool? VS-II Nur sourced by Todd at JLM from a private owner in Japan - basically brand new with Nissan plastic sheeting over this 'n that. Not one fingernail scratch under the door handle.
  16. But if Steve cannot procure those matching black backing plates Adam, you're welcome to them! Over to Steve....
  17. Well Richard and Bob, we've got more of a following here, with cars to prove it, than in Malaysia I dare say! Thanks Richard on behalf of Liz and myself (and any others who gave our Club the thumbs up).
  18. Thanks Liz. Kamazaki-san asked me Club Qs like... * How long has SAU been in operation for? * When did you join? * What role did you play in the club? * How many Execs are there if you and Liz are no longer Execs? * What do the Execs do? * What does the Skylines Aust club do for the Members? * How many Members are there? * How many nationally? Now I'm thinking that we as a Club should liaise with Kamazaki-san since he's an Editor. He was delirious with joy that such a powerful Club could be operating outside of Japan. He said he was interested in a few things we'd done this year - although I forgot to tell him about Tech Arvos. Ans so, he's interested - genuinely interested in an email detailing events we've held. Todd's wife Yumiko should have an email address - if it isn't in the magazine cover already. There he is here... ^^ You'll notice Takahiro Masuda's name listed there in the index too. And the autograph that Liz, spruce moose and yours truly obtained... Perhaps we should start a movement to have a quota in English sent through to Australia now that Bob has prompted me? Thoughts?
  19. In Malaysia Bob, it's published in English. We'll try and procure our issue in English too - especially since SAU will be mentioned numerous times.
  20. Absolutely!!!
  21. Is your BNR34 15yrs old yet and does it do less than 9000Kms per yr? If so there's good news!
  22. I'm not sure about your age as a restriction but... NRMA Vintage Veteran and Classic will insure all cars over 15yrs old so long as they're not driven over 9,000Kms/yr and are secured properly. Premiums are much cheaper than Just Car, Shannon's, NRMA (regular) or Dawes. Now the message has gone interstate to include SGIC and SGIO Vintage, Veteran and Classic. If you want your parent/s to own the car nominally, you must be a nominated driver on the policy.
  23. Yes Mark, all who attended to-day will too I stated in my interview that I wouldn't have the cars I do now except for two criteria... 1) Skylines Aust from a friend and network perspective and... 2) A good importer who can check the history of the car, physically look at it (if poss), and then bid (if at auction) a fraction beyond a 'round figure' (according to value). The two guys on either side of me in the pic, own a R34 GT-R V-Spec II and V-Spec II Nur respectively which were sourced from private sellers, before they could go to auction. I wonder what they said in their interviews!
  24. GT-R Magazine... has been in town covering the GT-R Scene in Sydney as well as WTAC. After considering several Importers to interview and take pictures, JLM at Rydalmere was selected to host the 'inquisition' to-day. CEO Todd O'Donnell agreed with the Editor, Shinichi Yamazaki that a group of owners be interviewed about... * their cars * the cars' performance * modifications * how the owners came to buy GT-Rs * what network exists on how the right GT-R can be sourced * what type of activities exist for owners to run their GT-Rs at their optimum * who runs these activities ...and finally, pictures to be taken of owners and their cars. 14 cars and their owners will be featured in GT-R Magazine next year! Yay! Interviews and pics have just finished as I write this. Two DR30s were also sourced including Liz' whose car was also happy-snapped by the Editor himself - most impressed was he! My Mag - Autographed on the cover by the the photographer Takahiro Masuda earlier to-day.
