  1. I can only remember the old B&W footage of Fangio fanging it through the streets of Paris in the early hours of the morning. There was an extremely impressive boat chase through the canals of Amsterdam in the film called "Puppet On A Chain" circa '71 I think I've always been on the lookout for this at Cash Converters to see if my memory has built up the awesomeness of those few minutes into an expectation far in excess of what it really is Noel hehe Well, I'll just have to google it think. I've always thought it was better than the chases in Moonraker
  2. Well it contains * isopropyl alcohol * propylene glycol * ammonia I was looking up what these might do to rubber & paint > went off to sleep lol
  3. You Canberrans are always taking out major gongs at every show we run! Example:- R34 GT-R 10th Anniversary by GT-R_Kat + R32 GT-R 21st Anniversary run by SAU.NSW she wins again! Why don't you just stay away and give us a chance? jk
  4. The final application will still need to have a UV inhibitor or UV resistant nanotechnology for the cloudiness to not return within 6 months. Example:- Some polishes (perhaps Nu Finish?), sealants (Optiseal) and waxes (Malco Creme Wax)
  5. That's always the way isn't it? Lol
  6. When the cover's taken off, there's the likelihood that the gasket will swell. So when the cover's put back on, the gasket won't seat properly. In essence, if the cover's taken off again in the future, and if the gasket swells again....
  7. Yes, both are nice. Both have had their brakes n wheels upgraded too. The V36 from WA may not have log book history perhaps? I wonder which Sydney importer it was?
  8. Aaaaah Spielberg's 1st movie.
  9. comments below the clip + in "roadfly" forums reveal more...
  10. Yes as already stated, you can try putting it in and then change the angle for better flow (- comment not meant to be ambiguous)
  11. We have an E39 2003 Bimmer 530i It's a glorious car and we'll keep it for a long time yet (as it's done only 73,000Km). Fuel consumpt'n about 8.7 on Hwy. Bimmers of the period have really good petrol frugality. I didn't recommend it because you're driving for 5 hours and in case the water pump or side tank blows, you probably will be far away from a BMW spares outlet. I would test drive one certainly if it has low Kms and has had its services all complete. It was rated a few years ago as being the best Euro car ever made. A 540i was being sold here on SAU Cars F/S a li'l while ago. It may have sold now I think! The E39 5 Series has all the adjustments of seat positioning you'd every want; and is more comfortable than my brother-in-law's G6E Turbo If considering this, take the car to the local mechanic to download any fault codes on the DME
  12. Glad to hear about good places above... Another one to add to the mix is Kazu (technician) at JapLink Motors 175 Parramatta Rd Haberfield Ph 9716.0857 and Todd or Adam can book you in. Very efficient + they offer discounts to SAU.NSW Members. They're also the SAU.NSW Clubhouse landlord
  13. ^^^ Worth a look > inspection Also with similar Kms... http://www.carsales....e-2007-12785510 I talked with an importer this morning and he said that he couldn't find one around with complete log/history at this time.
  14. LPG Falcon Adam?
  15. Hi, You're talking about the GT500 version of the LMGT4 wheel. I'm getting "PLYNX" here on SAU to make up the hexagonal nut that covers the hub. It won't have the collar though that covers the holes nor the backing plate. PM me your email address, and when the job is complete, I can send you pics. I have 2 sets of LMGT4s, one of which is the GT500 version. So I'll let you see both. The LMGT4 GT500 has a recess in which the hexagonal nut will fit perfectly. Sorry, but as I said, no collar. Tez
  16. Marcus has my details thank you Richard.
  17. In an event such as Lowdown,... a) should SAU.NSW have a banner, a desk with membership applications, display their "SAU.NSW" number plate on a Member's car perhaps? b) would Lowdown give us enough latitude do you think, so that SAU could do this?
  18. Tis good to have anecdotes
  19. Understood. There are dummy lookalike CCTVs that you can buy & then place them near the real ones.
  20. A very good upholstery trimmer is available at 17A Amax Ave Girraween. Michael I think his name is; and he doesn't mind offering advice - or of course, use his services! He's in the same complex as Unigroup Eng.
  21. You don't need to know what oil is being used at the moment. Once it's been changed, then determine what oil is being used and keep an extra bottle as a spare. Keep a log book up to date with an itemised list of what fluids and parts are being used too I'd say.
  22. 6 digit plates don't have to be bent to fit David. You just need M6 gauge bolts with metal sleeves (as spacers) Until you find "LAI", just put up with "LAI.469" to bring the lulz
  23. Once in the 80s whilst a lawyer was spending a sojourn in Fiji, he was informed by his wife that the SL500 he wanted to sell, went for a hundred. He, with his mistress by his side asked, "You mean $100,000 don't you? His wife, a true woman scorned, replied matter of factly, "No, one hundred dollars" and then hung up. Such a car would have qualified would it not?
  24. Trickle charge in the engine bay. +ve terminal underneath the fuse cover "C" - easy! As per above post, a Multi might reveal if it's your alarm system etc
  25. RRP of Hivita Stress (about the strongest B Complex on the market) goes up from $29.95/100 to $49.95/100 from the 1st July ie tomorrow. WTF! I rang them up and told them, "You've killed the goose..." They sent out a rep to explain why > I told him, "You've killed the goose..."
