-
so I havent trained legs for over 5 weeks. First session back i did some squats which hurt to say the least. Anyway, that was monday, my legs are still real tight and it hurts to walk. My problem is that I have to play oztag tonight, any tips on what I should do prior to the game to loosen them up a bit and help me be able to run and sprint????

more videos and pictures of Rebecca for ummm ummm ill get back to on the why later

some good advice on body building here.
-
yep, quick question. Doing the same workout 3x times a week as previously mentioned, do you think I should do different rep ranges to hit the different fibers???

I want to get rid of my chicken legs this year. Never been able to get decent definition in my legs for whatever reason, this years goal is to get them bigger. Also, something was off in my food last year, whatever i was eating gained lots of fat, I had a disgusting little gut on me, looked like a teenage girl who is from some shit hole who got up the duff. This year, I dont want that dumb gut. Not saying I want to gain weight and have a 6 pack, I just want to do it a bit cleaner is all. Chicken and steak for breakfest lunch and dinner or something.

i think i need to squat more.... anyway first day back in the gym for about 5 weeks so weak, lost so much strength during that period its like I am starting from scratch again.
-
dont they also have to hold the bar a certain way???
-
funny story, i was sitting at 71kg pre holiday. go to the states, eat real shit food and came back 66kg.... starting gym again tonight, going to go with a simple full body compound workout for a few months to get back into it. something like this, not sure on the rep range, either aim for 10 reps or a 5x5 program: Pull Ups Squat Bench press Seated Row Military press Deadlift BB curl

whats the difference between tactical krav and krav?

Did you know that there is this stuff that you can sprinkle on your food that will help you lose weight. Doesn't matter if you still eat large big mac meals for breakfast lunch and dinner. American advertisements are crazy ridiculous. So many fat loss ads which are backed by all this research that claims you don't have to work hard or watch what you eat to lose weight and have the perfect body.

Dam and I was going to give alburtrex a go........ In the states at the moment, haven't hit the gym for 2-3 weeks. Feeling the effects already some good and others not so much. Shit food is doing my head in as well. The yanks need some lessons on how to cook eggs and bacon

well I wont be training to compete due to the defibrillator in my chest more for cardio and well fun. ultimate goal is round 80kg with a decent amount of muscle and around 10-15% bodyfat. Just nice and healthy. I am thinking I'll give this a go (not so much the 3-6000 calories a day part or a gallon of milk a day, but a decent amount of food) when I am back from holidays. Might be a good way to get back into training and I'll go from there.

the only spot i worry about is bench, squats and deads are easy by yourself for 5 reps. eating enough needs to be sorted out. I honestly dont think that my issue gaining size has anything to do with how I workout, because I have gotten slightly bigger and so has my training partner. My issue is all food food and more food. My only thought was if this would be a decent routine whilst getting back into the mma. I might still give it a go and if I sort my diet and am not happy with results, I'll work to a normal 3 day chest/tris, legs/shoulders and back/bis also decent post Tom, read the entire thing. Thanks for the thoughts

yea I tend to agree with you Dan, sure if I hate 3k calories a day id put some quick size on, but is it the size you want to put on??? There is no way I could drink that much milk, I literally throw up these days after having milk, no idea why as it never used to happen. Doctor doesnt understand either, just says its Reflux. I might give it a go next year when Im back from the states, see if it and a better diet does anything (not expecting miracles though). Is it the normal 2minutes rest between sets on his routine? Anyway to do it without a spotter? Could you replace say bar bell bench with dunbells? I know you said dont basterdise it, but how heavy can you go without a spotter type of thought comes to mind.

and I also understand that i need to fix my diet to gain weight

what was Rippetoe's program originally designed for? Is it just a beginners workout? I thought more strength training then size or muscle definition because SS stands for "starting strength" if I am not mistaken (which I could be because i am reading it from bodybuilding.com) Also claims that people have gained 30-40 pounds in 6 months, I find that a little hard to believe even if they are eating the recommended 3000-4000 calories a day. just some questions.
-
oh and Tom, what TTT is getting at is a point that I found when googling Rippetoes Most people cant get it through there head that compound lifts also work your arms Plenty and always Insist on direct arm work. As quoted by Madcow2, “Don't **** with this. Every bodybuilder seems to have Attention Deficit Disorder and an overwhelming desire to customize everything.” If you are one of these people note that you have the option of doing the dips and chins which give PLENTY of arm work. Abdominal work is fine to do also if needed But each to their own i guess
-
hmmm, Rippetoes workout is for gaining strength rather then actual lean size isnt it? I am thinking of cutting back to 3 days a week in the new year, but also getting back into some MMA for fitness. Will mean that I will have to eat heaps more to make up for the cardio, but I have to increase my fitness as it is beyond embarrassing.

so thats why you like LaBomba..... here is a easy to understand link: http://cholesterol.emedtv.com/high-cholesterol/effects-of-high-cholesterol.html I have to watch my Cholesterol due to already having a possible heart condition. Not that I know how to watch it

well, he is a different kettle of fish all together. I know that a strong person isnt necessarily not flexible, but he could have his range of motion could have improved with the loss of 15kg. So many variables maybe a little quicker and agile with the less weight, could also be as simple as that is his ideal "fight weight". Also there is everything that Nick just mentioned. Also when I trained, alot of the naturally bigger guys and I am talking more about the +6ft +90kg guys without weights, were harder to submit then the average height guys who worked out. I found it more awkward and a different game. In saying that, I only hit purple belt and wasn't really a fan of BJJ when I was training. One another note, my little brother is over 6ft and 92kg with no weight training. When he was younger, he was like a big breed puppy at sport. His body was to big for his brain.
-
only reason why i ask is he might be able to give you some easy exercises to help strengthen all the muscles and ligaments and whatever else around the knee.
-
when I went to physio earlier this year, he said squatting helps the joints. You probably dont do leg extensions which are apparently the worst for your knee. have you seen a pysio about the knees?
-
wasn't. good response, cheers. Have looked at muscle fibres in the past but can never remember the difference between em. could be right, hell the people i play with have 10-20kg on me and only one manages to out drive me. That being said they all lift. But hell who knows. Benefits are there. surely the one on the left is a walker. and obviously the one on the right............. he is black
-
I agree 100% with you when it comes to talent. How does lifting make you fast??????
