  1. I cant see many going log with their first set of tyres, they will be pitting asap and carrying the second set to the finish expecting 1 or 2 safety cars to remove bent backmarkers
  2. Whereabouts in the US are you? Interested to know a bit about your local tracks! Good to see more track build ups
  3. I can see a good reason to think any number of the local cars will be quick. Dont know anything really about the OS cars to have a feel. They all look the part and no doubt if they are making the effort to cross the drink you would think that their preparation to the event is very thorough. What sort of track temps to the guys as Tsukuba usually see. I know its cold late in the year, but is it cold all year round? Curious to see how their cars go if its a hot day with regards to how they work their tyres over a longer lap with longer radius corners. I suppose the single lap format may mean that higher temps will not really play havoc like if you went to Japan and simply could not get tyre temp in the 5 deg C?!?!?!?!?!!? It will be an interesting event... I just hope that Russ in his RB20 powered sled can get the lil 32 into the 1:48s
  4. Hehe, he is nothing. After a night at the strippers i jumped in the lil R32 and chopped him at Sandown. And ther great thing is unlike my chop on the F430 at Winton this one was caught on tape opening credits...chop, chop....frkn chop! If it had been this blonde there wouldnt have been any discrimination or knokcing back
  5. Is it the same car? The colour makes me want to ask if it is in any part Geoff Fears old GTR (What happened to that anyway?)
  6. Thats where you are wrong! I so wish i could have afforded to lose the 10,000pound bond on the R400 last year. Would have been great to have a real go and use full revs at Spa in the lesser R400. They are so much fun to drive. Tricky pedals, gearbox, no abs, plenty of traction, no power so if you get a corner wrong you cant just step on it and play catch up...it was about a little bit of a gain on every corner apex and so much fun trying to go quicker and quicker...because it could simply go so deep under barkes, be turned in so much later and still make the apex I cant see how something like an R500 woulnt be a blast, competitive and rewarding to drive. After driving one in semi anger i am less excited about trying to go fast in a steel bodied production car. (as a driver) But to spin the tools on one i still like the idea of getting the same car you run to the shops in to be quick.
  7. Be a man and get an R500. Option it with the factory cage you saw n the R300 race cars in Belgium and go scare yourself shitless.
  8. COOL! Thanks for posting. Its got some toe out of turn 1 when you stretched its legs. Sounds so sweet, makes more usable power then any turbo 6 would make. So in the world of crazy conversions i am torn between Chev or 20B (not that i will be doing either...but fun to dream)
  9. Sure he may have been quick in a single seater. He sat in the middle of the car so there was no way of getting confused. But he is sitting on the wrong side of the Lancer for starters
  10. So what was the story behind the R35 binning it? I am sure he wasnt the first to bin it to the Tour???
  11. That is in my list for 2011. I highly doubt my car will make it OS so will be sitting around storage and I think Tasse will be ripe for the bark of a bit of gate and titanium exhaust tunes from RB20 Benny boy, in case you are not stirring and will be looking at a car, I am out of India at end of the month and will be car stuff in Europe in June, so may be able to get pics/videos etc
  12. What? Dumped in a trash can at a bus terminal? I am trying to forget that part of my life
  13. Farking rain at EC...i had never drivne there without a 180km/h speed limiter or with more then 140rwkws. SO when i had the TD06 and some semis i wrangled a trip to Sydney to go to EC...i planned this for about 6 months, and it rained and i binned it It rained so heavy but i refused to park it because i just take it easy in the rain and have fun. But it rained so heavy that water was running across the track leading up to turn 9, (after the quick left hander at Corporate Hill) Hit the water and the car just aquaplaned off the track.... so i make this point because back in 2006 EC did not handle rain or drain very well .... so pray for all the guys entered that it is dry. Otherwise a 1.5L Charade with MRT Swaybar upgrade will be quicker then you.... LOL and their is no shame in that
  14. MR2s The few i have seen done correctly have been great track cars!
  15. R33s have bigger centre consoles for all the boiled lollies and roofies for courting 12yr old girls!
  16. Well your car woudl simply need a re-spray in silver and I would be good to go
  17. I farking hate that i think this, but the only extra weight the R33 really carries over the R32 is from gearbox ad brakes. (from what i have read and understand) And you get easier power, stronge rgearbox and better front suspension. IF the R32 GTSt now has to run in early modern then perhaps the R33 GTS25t makes more sense. God knows that they are actually cheaper then R32 GTSts these days....its funny that R31 GTS-Xs command the same money as R32 and more then R33s. But, i dont care for the rules, if i build up a car it will be a lil R32 so i can make my current car a nicer roadie with some of the std bits. But, what was looking great a few weeks ago now looks shit.... I need to find a boss who doesnt do horrible things to me in uncomfortable places, so sick of being farked around by the man. I cant see me doing anything with my current car let alone a new car for a little while longer yet
  18. I love FD RX7s but i dont fit comfortably in one I wonder why Supras have never been popular? hey have solid engine and gearbox, long wheelbase so shoudl be pretty stable under power etc, good track.
  19. I assume, perhaps wrongly that whilst there are no doubt going to be great drivers punting very fast cars, I assumed that the drivers would be a 1 second gap to a professional driver, so that is another reason why i think they will be a tad slower then the V8 Supercars. Will be great if i was wrong though!
  20. WOH, that will be a pretty big powered rwd Skyline. Interested to see how it goes!
  21. I would only say that if you were in the passenger seat getting a BJ and totally distracted from actually driving
  22. Of course they are cheating. They have uber power and great power delivery. Great chassis and awd system. Great gearboxes, decent std brakes and many only need modded shock bodies to make the shocks adjustable height and accept some slightly different springs to be even better handlers!!!! They are a very quick car and receptive to mods....and they are a $160k. The EVO 9s were the previous cheater spec for the class. The R35 seems to be the perfect car for the class and rules this year. LOL when something is so good straight out of the factory it takes away some of the romance of throwing spanners at them and making them go quicker So cheaterers car. What will be itneresting is to watch someone throw 150k at one and put a stroker in it. Put something like twin TD06-25Gs on it. Put a PPG gearset in it. Throw some uber 6k a corner shock at it. Rip all the mod con luxury bits out of it and try to get it down to around 1500kgs. Not sure what f anything needs to be done to the computers, but if they are like EVOs then there is probably some time in the tuning of the awd system. Surely there are going to be mind altering quick R35s in years to come...not sure you are going to see any tuned 997 PDK turbos in Aus (not that they are eligible anyway) I know the car i want to run, but having a bit of trouble finding the £100,000 to buy it Its cheater spec, but in a good vs evil sort of way
  23. Thats why i woudl love to know how good the V8 control tyres are? Considering that the 2010 lap times are no quicker then 2002 lap times I suspect they are pretty shit in terms of outright speed over a single lap. Perhaps a soft comound semi, in bogger diam and width so able to better manage temps, combined with lighter weights and more power/aero... I suspect you could well be right Duncan, but when you get to the pace of these cars i think you really need to know what you are doing with regards to development so that requires drivers and mechanics... at these speeds a simple sum of parts does not equal pace. So will be interesting to see all the cars with lots of bespoked engineering and how they go compared to a V8 Supercar with a turbo inline 6!??!?!?! ...at those speeds / lap times i am a big believer is less is more!
