Simmons Wheels 18' With Near New Tyres
Roy replied to GTRBRO's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Are you located in Melb? If so would you be able to trial fit on an R32? -
Fark, now i want to get out of crewing at the Alpine and run door to door with the Woo!

In my opinion that is your best bet. These days V8 Supercars run a control rotor Alcon rotor, but in the pat teams either used AP, Brembo, Alcon or Performance Friction. So there are plenty of people that make that dimension rotor. Shop aroudn and find the best price and avaialability and go for that brand. You will find that they all run different pcd so once you decide on a brand of rotor you will have to stick with it which means your custom hats will be specific to that rotor. But hats and brackets are not rocket science and plenty of good brake shops or motorsport engineering places will be able to do them for you. The scariest prices i have ever hear for hats was $600 each and brackets $400 each. I commonly get them done for more like $600 per pair of hats and $400 per pair of brackets (ballpark figures to calculate) But am interested where you are able to get the AP CP5555 for $1200, thats a great price. Cheapest i have ever been able to source them is $1350 each and that was importing them

Troy, a few quick questions...what sort of weight is Oscar? And what sort of power will that PP 13B put out....lol and lastly what tyre size is it running. I am thinking that thing is going to be mentally fast , i mean 10-15seconds per lap quicker then your R34 around the average track!

Sorry, its not often tht i get the chance to be clever and witty, and thats about as clever i get If you need somewhere to stay then there are a few Vic people that either A) stay at someones holiday house where we sling them some money or B) f there is too many of us there are 2-3 usual favs for where we stay. Shoot me a PM when you have an idea of numbers and i can give you the details of you rbest option. I am crewing at the Alpine Rally so will have to give this the miss

They are the bad boys. They are not as pretty as some of the other calipers kicking around these days, but they are still the title holders for best all round caliper. They can saddle a slightly bigger rotor, i have seen them used with 382mm rotors. Expect to pay about $1300 per caliper, and then hunt down the supplier of rotor you want to use and get some custom hats machined up. ($500 each covers it) The 36mm thick rotor helps a hell of a lot with cooling. For example up until around 2002 V8 Supercars used 355 x 36mm rotors for 650hp and 1350kgs. After around 2002 they went 376 x 36mm rotors. They run slicks slightly less weight and more power in a race car. So something similar in a tad heavier car with simlar hp would be enough for what most of us do with cars......well IMHO

The Apexi RB29 kit has not been made for years, not that long ago there was a kit on yahoo at reasonable dollars. In an old Hyper Rev mage there was a comparison and looking at the graphs it was a good thing

You will run in the class with the other 1298cc motorcycle powered, closed wheeled, open top sports cars

I want the seat in the background. My phone's screen blacks out days at a time so email me re that sms i got late And nothin wrong with a CA Will be interesting to be amongst all the NSW Silvias, late Nov-early Dec at OP and/or Wakefield

Fark man, that is a great setup but an expensive way to make 250-270rwkws, (not saying its a bad thing) Just grab a 6boost manifold for $800, a 3071 for $1800 and the fraction of a second (tenth?) you will be slower around a track just means you get more track time then others Twin gates! Fark me, i understand the gain etc, but a 3071 is pretty punchy to start with. Actually, dump the SR20s and throw a TD06 RB20 in there....make it late November after the Alpine Rally and i am in and should be good fun soudning better then all these SR20s
-
S13 convention? Will be interesting to see how the old R32 goes with similarily powered 2L S13s. Be a fun day playing with cars all within 2-3 seconds of one another....rather then the usual Vic days where i am chasing all the Racepace GTRs who are 4-5 seconds quicker with me being the clearly slowest LOL, that is assuming i am not the slowest of all the 2L cars which could be the case around bumpy old Wakefield

If you throw a big enough solenoid and ram on it i am sure you can get the sunroof to drive open in a split second when diving on the brakes so you get a Veyron/Mclaren F1 style air brake.

If its a daly driver then in my eyes thats a perfectly good reason not to go crazy with the cage. I need to carry things in the back set so need to access the back seat area. I drive my car to the track and 4 wheels do not fit in the boot, so i again need to be able to get rims and tyres back there. Also the weight, for a club car that is only used for motorkhanas and a 5-6 days a year at Supersprints, in a car that isnt all that quick then again i see those as perfectly good reasons for going without. Side impact with front legs would be great, but i dont see too many trees/posts etc as road/track side risks. Again, getting back to it being a road car that i haev to drive to construction sites and through refineries
-
I am a lot more excited about these sorts of posts now that my parole officer has got me released from my sentence Could be about to try and beat Snowcone in his electric toothbrush
-
If it didnt have sunroof that thing would be perfect balls to the wall track car. Even as is, when i am back baby i have time off so we are going to have to have a showdown at Wakefield. It has been 6 years since i have driven that place

Seriously, if you are going to be running that sort of power, the best kit you can run that is cheaper then what you are looking at paying for the R35 stuff is some CP5555-****, 6 pot AP calipers. I cant recall the exact few digist of the part number but they are wider and allow you to run a 36mm thick wide rotor. They will saddle 376-380mm rotors and still fit inside the 18" TE37. The R35 stuff is only 32mm thick so only getting so much cooling, with the 36mm thick rotor you get far superior cooling. The AP CP5555 is about the best, most versatile street-performance caliper you can get and doubles with being able to take motorsport width rotors (is 36mm thick) If your car has that much grunt and weight i would not be using the Alcon Mono6 on their 365x32mm rotors.(and i love the Mono6 calipers)
-
Stay away from Endless and Pmu. Good gear but you dont have the range of pads and replacement rotors like you do with the AP, Alcon and Brembo kits. As Duncan said, you will need to swap over brakes-wheels between drags and track stuff. It doesnt sounds like the car is a daily driver so i would be looking at motorsport calipers, not street calipers. Simply because they saddle the rotors better and you can jam a 382mm rotor under a 18" wheel with a nice Alcon or Brembo race 6 pot caliper. New the calipers are about $4000 each, but you can pick them up 2nd hand and serviced for about that for a pair.

LOL, buying from Guildford? Check the numbers match and there is nothing still stashed in teh kick panels

Professional Suspension Set Up Service
Roy replied to greggtr's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I am running custom revlaved and springed Teins from Racepace. I had an alignment at Tru Track around March and the brief drive i had was good. But i have not tracked it with their wheel alignment, But Tru-Track have done plenty of the alignment on SAU track goers cars. I will know later this year when i get home and start punting the thing again They have GTRs doing 60-62 seond laps at Calder so they ovbiously handle well. When my car was at Tru Track they said to me they liked the custom Teins that come out of Racepace -

What times are you doing? Calder isnt really a good test track. Are you going quicker? Your times being all over the place could be the fact that you have better corner speeds and you are not getting too mcuh heat into the tyres so after a few laps your grip is going?????????? If you have tried Centreline then i would be sticking with them, or there i always Racepace who build the states quickest GTRs and also Tru Track. -
What is the ruling on pit lane exits, i think Webber was ahead when he merged into the fast lane...quite often cars have to slow if a car comes out in front, its the coming out in front not the following caar having to lift
-
NOOOOO!! Webbers race screwed, not sure if if agree with that call. The ESPN commentators are saying it was tight bt fair. Oh well, there goes the season Dont know what happened to Webber being 4 or so laps longer then the Fisi etc
-
LOL...come on WEBZ!!!!!!!! Button and Rubens gone and Vettel behind him Fisi will be nervous with the Ferrari behind him Webber heavier then Glock, Kubica an Fisi...can he get a podium?
