  1. If somebody can come up with $800 before i head back OS then they are yours
  2. This stuff all needs to be gone from the boot of my car.

    Finally

The R35 is running a V8 and its suspension is nothing like the road car and runs onboard suspension like an open wheeler which means it runs pull rods or push rods.
  4. He isnt the only guy at CAMS with this thinking. I know there are guys in Vic who think the same way and there is merit to there thinking.
  5. Just put some Greddy, Tomei and Tein stickers down the height of the door and Bobys your Uncle
  6. Yeh but a street car can be fun on the track
  7. Bugger, they 99.99% sold. If he is interested in RE30s or XD9s i have those laying around as well
  8. Looks like these are sold, waiting for the transfer. Other items linked above still for sale
  9. Any offers? I would rather not have to be putting this stuff back into storage.
  10. I have one in Melbourne, i believe it currently has a 86.5mm bore and has scoring in No.1 from faulty ring. Can throw it on a pallet and send. Asking $500 without oil pump, water pump or sump.
  11. So can the V88 still be plug in? Whats the thoughts these days on an ECU that doesnt have 6 ignition drivers. Everybody used to write off my LT8 because it used batch fire sayign it was cheap and nasty...yet 10 years later here we are with batch fire again.?!?!?!? I am thinking about another ecu as the Datalogit cost to dump tunes into my car for my 2nd turbo setup, different fuels, the Gizzmo luanch control i just bought, the fact that i still need an EBC...well perhaps its easier just to get an all singing ECU
  12. Just remember to have random steering failures when/if cars pull alongside you
  13. So can anybody confirm the number of ignition drivers and whether i can run this bad boy on AFMs yet?
  14. Well i am always looking around and if its a CA18DET powered S13 which needs bumper and bodywork and is very std then i would nto be too fussed if you miss it at $5,0000 as i believe you will be able to get better examples for that sort of money
  15. I hear what you are saying, but i stand by the claim that the Elise Motorsport was nothing that special from the road going version of the S1 Exige which spawned from it. Like i said it was basically a M3 CSL with some trick gear. Grab any number of catalogues and you can turn your basic S1 Elise, the pick of the litter as they are a lot lighter then the S2 (the S2 have the same chassis/suspension, its an update of the bodywork and accessories hence the higher weight) into a car that looks like a Motorsport but blows the doors off it as there are off the shelf kits for Audi engine transplants, EVO engine transplants using Quaife boxes etc and the Honda engine transplants using Honda Boxes Hell shop around Japanese workshops and there are some pretty crazy tuned up Elises running around which completely transform the appearance of a std S1 Elise. (pic below) And all it takes to do the cosmetics is a $6000 bodykit which is mostly fibrelgass but part carbon. For full carbon it is a more expensive from memory and cant remember the price. Considering you can pick up S1 Elises for 35k i dont see them as being that different to an Evo 7 or R33 GTR after people have put mega suspension, carbon doors, big dollar engines and boxes in them...completely different ways of going quick. So, sounds like you know all this already, but just because they have the "motorsport" model look of the S1 Exige doesnt mean they are anything special. They are only what they are because of the base model S1 Elise has so much potential. If they have been built up then ok, but if they are the "1 of 15" factory GT2 or GT3 cars etc then ...
  16. I am no expert but i do like my Lotus cars and i think you are off the mark there. The "Motorsport" Elise that you allude to is very limited build, something like 65-75 that was a tad over 800kgs and still only a lazy 200-230hp or something. They are the same aluminium chassis but rather then fibreglass panels they use some carbon. They are not radically different from a standard Elise and can be readily built up using kits out of the UK. They are basically the CSL of the M3 range or the GT3 of the 911 range. Nothing all that radical or crazy. My mate almost bought one of the few that are in Aus. But after driving it he went for the 340R instead as he said it was both quicker and just flat out wilder I think the GT1 Elise was the only one to have carbon monocoque and the sort of crasy stuff that the average guy cant buy off tuning places. But your points regarding running in the GT championship etc and being built to GT2 regs (or has Australia now detuned all the cars to GT3 spec) means that these cars are now pretty out there and in the land of Prodrive Astons etc
  17. There are several ways. For a Skyline the easiest way it to make sure the swing of the boot is rigid to the lock or catch and make sure the spoiler is located near the knuckle on the back of the boot as that is where its most rigid. Or you can drill holes in the boot and mount a bracket of the back of the beaver panel so that when you close the boot the mount sits proud of the boot, then you just throw on the upright and blade There are a few other ways but they add to the complexity of getting the thing open and closed
  18. The RS shocks have the reservoirs mounted to the shock body with a cast alloy carrier where as the Super Racing are on braided line that allow you to mount them remotely like in the engine bay on the strut braces or in the boot etc. Makes adjustments on the fly a little easier
  19. Stick your arm out the window at 60km/h. If the wing has enough surface area then they can start to produce a normal force pretty early, Hence why many are adjustable so you can tweak them for different average speed tracks
  20. Looks like it has a PI Dash to me
  21. I know of 3 examples all from different tuners from two different states
  22. Because its one of my favourite cars i say in, but reality is it probably shouldnt as the thing isnt mass produced and is only legal because of limited build quantity
  23. What do Tein Super Streets sell for these days? The slightly softer Aus spec and the Jap Spec? They worked well enough that Mark and Russ won Dutton Rallys with them and other similar events and were quick enough to be one of the quickest Skylines around Wakefield http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=dHm-uvIt8wg&...re=channel_page
