  1. LOL, thats the problem with Thai girls...you can never be too sure about what lurks beneath
  2. I was thinking that the dif maybe ok, but the pinion/crown wheel would have taken the brunt of it. May be a good time to revisit your final drive ration sicne you are now running an uber RB in an R32 GTSt and i expect you are still running R32 gearing rather then the taller R33 gearing?
  3. I think it will come down to who is going to do the better job, Heikki or Kimi? I think with the pressure on Lewis will throw it away at least one more time before the end of the season and i think the same can be said for Massa. So the question is who can grab second behind their team mate...i think you would have to back Kimi against Heikki.
  4. Its your car...if you plan on doing some track work then nobody better to get to understand what works and doesnt work then you. Perfect situation, you develop as the car develops....win:win I would say majority of the people you throw the keys to wouldnt know any better then they guy with enough mechanical understanding to have built the car. Hell, read a book or three to arm yourself with a plan and go ahve some fun
  5. Out of curiousity does anyone know the Garret equivs? http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/_2003web-catalogu...28_ARMSkit.html
  6. LOL, i know. But i wanted the whole stealth RB20 looking thing. So the height of the RB30 would have given it away. But you are right, then RB25DE with the cams would be a decent starting point, along with the HKS low mount manifold. I often think about doing it myself....but, RB20 is enough for me
  7. I know this isnt the For Sale section, but am putting it here as i would really, really, really, really love for someone with a car that is basically well setup with a turbo setup and good tune to buy the HKS 264/8.5mm cams i am now off loading. Was going to try and get another good baseline before / after but i have lost interest in chasing setup of my car at present. But if anyone else has the motivation to play with their RB20 a bit more...mine is parked at present
  8. Location: Melbourne CBD Contact: PM or in thread HKS RB20 Camshafts Used RB20 camshafts. 264/8.5mm inlet and exhaust cams. Umming and arring over trying them after my last attempt with similar Apexi cams did not yield the results i was hoping. After speaking to tuner again today have decided not to bother. I understand these cams are no longer available new so... Asking $580 HKS Cast Low Mount Manifold & Wastegate Grabbed this manifold after regretting selling my old one. Keep wanting to try a GT3071, 0.63 AR turbo with this manifold on an RB20 to see if it will better my current TD06 setup. Was going to be trialled with the cams above etc. But reality is I am not bothered spending that sort of money on trying new stuff. Just want to enjoy the car now...so wish list is being thrown away and i will never know if the Trust setup can be bettered. Asking $670 for both manifold and gate R32 RB25DE - No VICS Grabbed this complete motor around Christmas last year with a view of using the EAGLE rods, Arias pistons and RB26 crank i had for a sleeper looking RB20DET. With the above gate and manifold with a GT3076R it would be a great package and deceptively look like an RB20. I even have an original R31 RB20DET-R badge for the inlet plenum Comes with loom, CAS, injectors, PS etc etc. So makes a conversion pretty straight forward. Engine is a runner. Comes with a spare RB25DET bottom end which i grabbed with the motor as it was my preference to use the RB26 internals in a block with oil squirters. The bore needs to be honed as there is marks on one of the bores which looks like a head gasket failure before removal. Not sure if thsi block was ever going to be needed, but appeal was that after building the planned motor i was going to be left with RB25 crank, balanced RB26 rods from below engine and an RB20 currently in my engine and thought it would be fun to build a budet banger stroker out of all the gear left over. Asking $950 complete R32 RB25DE and RB25DET bottom end R32 RB26DETT Bottom End This is what started all the mad thinking. Its a freshly rebuilt RB26 to std specs using what i believe to be N1 water and oil pumps (at a minumum are new Nissan OE) and N1 cast pistons. During reco the block was bored and suitably sized N1 pistons were installed. After less then 5,000kms engine developed a problem with piston rings in cylinder 1 so i grabbed it as i was only after the crank for installation in RB25 block. Or perhaps drilling out the head and jsut slapping the RB25DE head straight onto this block. Crank has larger oil drive, was balanced etc along with balanced std RB26 rods with new rod bolts etc (Odds are they are ARP bolts etc) Has a modded sump and came out of a RWD R33 GTS25T Asking $850 Can arrange pictures, but is easier to come and inspect. I am under stating the condition etc so buyer is not disappointed with the purchase. By end of next week (1st Week of October) this stuff is being put into long term storage whilst i am OS, so rather not be paying storage on stuff as i dont think my RB20 is ever going to die Also still have the Work XD9s already posted in another thread for sale, and also a brand new set of RE30 17 x 8.5 +30 that i may part with rather then put into storage. XD9s are as per other thread and the new RE30s need $2800 for
  9. So we will know in a few hours if Hamo's whining whilst in the stand has helped his cause I say burn him...he is more colourful and entertaining when he has hissy fits
  10. Yeh, stuff the car , the girl is tasty. But, the real question is how long has that Cadbury commercial with the gorilla been on tv for? Saw it last night and was in tears
  11. I have had in mind for a long time two helmet designs. Only I want to spend about $450-650 on the helmet and from the quotes i have seen the painting will cost me about $1000-1200. If someone knows a cheaper yet good place to do paiting...i am all ears
  12. Still, repersents pretty good value. it will be interesting to see how quick the car is out of the box. I can see it as my perfect track day due to the NA, good hp out of a std unstressed motor...and tractable power delivery
  13. Have been reading this thread from the start, top work. Have to ask, how much ball ache is involved? I mean give a car, engine and gearbox, what would be a reasonable figure to budget for all the other stuff?
  14. I need an R33 GTSt tailshaft, can you PM me your location?
  15. About 3 weeks ago i thought i was going to make PI, but having to work Saturday morning means i cant fly out of India until Sat night meaning i wont be home until Monday
  16. Man, the Four Floors is going to be a busy place GP weekend. Can you imagine or the extra girls that will be flying in from Thailand, Indonesia, Burma etc
  17. But its an R34 with 6 spd! Gear ratios are already staked closer then the 5 spds, so i wouldnt presonally be throwing the shorter final drives at an R34. 5 spd though could have some merit without making it too busy
  18. lol. Yep, but your car is cool and will be a weapon when it makes it title fight return to the ring. Mine is just getting some fresh bushes and wheels etc. So will still be pushing shit uphil with my index finger with regards to imroving times LOL, i will die trying for my 1:21.4 with an RB20 at Sandown. Have to beat Scotsman's GTR times
  19. woops...doesnt matter
  20. Also depends on which Brembos? The GTR Brembos are more compact then the other common F40/F40 Brembo callipers. I think if you stay with an offset of less then +30 you will be very safe. I am running 17 x 8.5 +30 and I have had clashes with callipers with two sets of wheels, (Desmond Regamaster and Work XD9) Typicall cast wheels means you need to have bit more up your sleeve with the forged wheels typically offering better clearance. But as Nick said, there are plenty of wheels that will fit, just be wary of some of the cast wheels as I have had forged 17 x 8 +34 that have cleared every brake setup I have trial fitted to the car. But then 8.5+ 30 have had problems. Remember that the R33 GTR was 9” with +30 offset and they had plenty of clearances
  21. Baron, i will bring the oxy, you bring the beer. I think its time we prep the S13 and show that intestinal fortitude mixed with the right amount of stupidity and my "nah mate she's flat...i have a perfectly matched set of buffed tyres so she will hold" navigating will have ..... ....people visiting us in hospital. Its up to us to bring SAU together and make our hospital waiting room the socialable meeting point of tarmac rallies
  22. Personally i would be steering clear of the Microtech. I ran an earlier LT8 on my old RB20, ok not an LT12 and they were a bit crude in the fuelling dept. They were also very sensitive to voltage, which is still a common problem based on some cars i see running the LT12. After a lot of time and effort tuning i was finally able to get some reasonable control of fuel, and on an NA car you want the fuelling spot on to give you that sharp throttle response. I know it wil partly kill the sound, but have you considered a big fibreglass airbox for the inelt setup? Filtration will be easier to sort, an important thing for rally car. You can also throw a an AFM on the front of it after the air filter panel. I have seen similar setups on several 80s rally cars running injection. It also means you can run the std ecy re-mapped to your needs. I love what you are doing, every time i service for a friend i sit in the bush listening to all the cars coming through and dream of building a basic NA RB20 GTSt rally car. The sound of the RB20 through the bush would be awesome....
  23. Meh, just go around and get the keys of Tony and if you like take it to your place to trial fit them as they are on the car. Or just swap them over in the garage. LOL, I will buy you a case of beer if you can get the car started and take it for a drive to re-charge the battery. Just not too much gate as the thing really needs an oil change and the fuel pump is a bit ordinary (as you last experienced)
  24. Is this the car from Time Attack? Seems that despite a bit of catch can issue the thing puts out the numbers!
