  1. Want the genuine items but can't find a seller. Could be me being a spaz on the iPad, but in any case point me in the right direction. Really only want front but I suspect I'll have to get all of them..... Thanks.
  2. Getting a new crown and pinion put in the rear diff. LSD and bearings are OK. Once back together again what's the wisdom on running it in. How long how many klms what speed what load figures of 8s etc etc? Thanks guys.
  3. Typical GTR. I know, I'll do _____ simple task. $$$$ later......
  4. Some shots of the guard widening, venting of the guard liner behind the oil cooler and general hotness of my car
  5. Went the easy / smart solution and took it to Micolour to get it sorted properly. Had some other minor blenishes attended to whilst I was there and also got the front guards spaced out for tyre clearance without losing my guard liners. Looks too good to put the gutter back on! I get it back today and will get her cut and polished next week after the rear diff rebuild.....Look out bank account.
  6. So per the adivce I bought the articulated parts of the wiper arms from Autobarn for about $40 for all three, which include a wiper insert. The finish is satin so I'll spray up the main part of the arms to suit. Easy and cheap.
  7. So.......the Autobarn guy didn't really inspire me with a lot of confidence with his advice so I thought I'd come here. The question I have is how I deal with the rust. Most of it is surface but there is one small spot (say 5mm diameter) which looks a little more serious. I'm thinking I sand back the surface rust, dig out the 5mm spot, and then spray with.....? Clearly the black cover will hide any paint I put on there but I'd prefer to keep it looking as factory as possible so can anyone recommend a product that will match the underbonet colour for a silver GTR and that will be appropriate for addressing the rust as described. I think there are paint products that actually turn rust into something benign, but are they only available in black? Thanks.
  8. Oh yeah, the rubber strip does need to come out and I found the only way to do this was to use a flat screw driver blade and carefully pry out the fixings. By the look of them they just press back in so I think this is actually the way to remove them rather than just my hamfisted ways. They are actualy integral to the strip so you can't actually get to them as they are housed within it. Anyhow hope this is helpful to other in the future.
  9. After. Some surface rust which I'm wondering how to deal with. I guess to do it properly I'll have to mask, sand, and use some sort of rust inhibiting primer (which hopefully will roughly match the grey). Bottom winscreen wiper nuts are corroded so I'll loosen them and try and make sure they no not sieze and the bolt thread is still OK. So, under that plastic panel lurks all sorts of mud and dirst and grime which idealy would get cleaned out every couple of years. Another area I've noted that traps a lot of grime is behind the tail lights. I'll get onto this fairly soon as it looks filthy in there. I've actually covered the car with a cover whilst the plastic panel is off as I think water will get into the engine bay without it.
  10. Any dramas leaving the plastic panel off for a while whilst exposed the rain? I note that there is a large opening under the grilled section and I'm unsure where this goes to. I presume it drains as normally water would go through the grill and into it?
  11. How right you are. They just unclip. Buy new springy holders, new inserts if required, check the finish of the springy holders and then buy appropriate spraypack and paint the main part of the wiper arm.How I love this forum. Thanks Artz.
  12. Thanks Sin. I'm not sure what you mean by removing the rubber strip. Do you need to do that to get the plastic piece off the car? Cheers.
  13. No worries mate. Battery World. 3 year warranty which is great as I rarely start my car so it chews through them. Just don't tell them by your battery died. Ill put up the specific code for the battery with the terminals the right way around. Cheers.
  14. Thanks mate. Satin on the black spray pack?
  15. Do you do this? Or just replace them? Mine are starting to look a little tired. If you do paint them can you powedercoat? I guess they're quite flexible and I'm wondering how hard it will be to get it right with all the joints? Maybe just paint the obvious surfaces? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Nick.
  16. Anything I should know about doing this? Take off the wipers and then under the screws? The screws are a funny profile on the head, sorta square shaped. Are they screws or a type of automotive fixing? Just unscrew them? Just don't want to get half way through and find it's harder than it looks...... Thanks guys.
  17. oh and make sure you get the terminals the right way around as they come either way around and you'll find the battery won't fit if you don't observe this.
  18. Just need the standard specs please.
  19. Through lack of use and due care the battery is my car is 100% dead and needs replacing. I tried taking photos of it in the dark this morning to get the specs for it's replacement but guess what they turned out poorly. Can someone confirm the size specs etc. Needed ASAP as I'm out and about today (which is unusual) and I've got an opportunity to pick one up. Thank guys.
  20. Birds I will gift you my Mazda6. I'm sure that's what you meant. New tyres, brakes and wheelbearings - cracking car. Sleep app worked well but at this stage is proving to be more of interest than help. It shows 5 points of deep sleep and 1 point of awake over 8 hours. Deepest sleep at 4.00 and a wake up time of 5.12. Alarm was spooky as it goes off just as you are waking anyhow....Seems like a coincidence until you remember how it works. The acceleromiter dooby in the iPhone is very sensitive and I was impressed how well it worked on its test. Can't get a screen dump or an image file off the phone so can't share. Will take technical assistance. Above performance assisted by an over the counter sleeping pill. Edit, found a way to get the image. Not sure about file format. See how we go.
