Hard to beleive, but the shell website tells me there is none of this for sale in Tassie. BP have 30 locations that sell Ultimate..... Can anyone confirm? Just doing some route planning for a bit of an Apple Isle blast. Cheers.

Any update Defari?

Bet his glass rattles too.....

Thanks guys. Appreciate the responses. Any photos out there?

Ok guys, pretty dry topic but.....windows fully up or down they rattle when going over corrugations etc. I'm thinking whatever locates the glass on its mechanisms (some sort of bushes?) has worn. Be good to know if someone else has done the fix and what it was and what parts I may need before I open up the doors. Any pics of the inside of the door (door skin off) would be good too. Cheers.

Ben, if you're setting up a camera in a car how does size, weight and ease of install matter (within reason)? Not that the rad cam looks that onerous to me (I'm no expert mind you). Obviously it's better to have these qualities than not, but aren't image and sound quality, battery life, easy of use in car more important in this application? Seems the GoPro and Contour do not have the sound part nailed (so I've read on this thread, though have no personal experience). I guess I'm struggling to see how the downsides you've presented really are downsides. Also, does a lack of relative sales imply a product isn't good or perhaps that the application it's good in is limited compared to the other products? i.e. motorsport vs every other possible application? Not trying to be arguementative but since this is a decision I'll be making soon, be good to hear more on your point of view.

Couldnt agree more. The sound is just as important. Seems that's the harder nut to crack than the picture and perhpas the external mic is the way to go. It's hard to beleive there is not an off the shelf tried and tested solution as if there was, surely everyone would beat a path to your door.

Any updates for this thread? Technology seems to move at an alarming pace for these jiggers.

Tarmac Rallying Perpetual Thread
LotusGTR replied to Marlin's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Rear cradle in the R32 needing every bush replacing kinda cut a hole in the video eqpt budget. Real shame though as it does sound pretty race car as it's got very little in the way of silencing. Will go straight to Race Recall and do some homework so I don't miss out for next time. and this is my struggle. I'd love to campaign the old 32 but I know what will happen. My idea of tamac rally is not standing by a dead car comtemplating the time investment of getting there and what I'm now not going to be enjoying.....I'm also not great with spanners so I'll be relying on others a fair bit in the event I find mech problems which I'd rather try and avoid. I saw a team with an RX7 at Baw Baw and they were constantly fiddling with it to get it right (well to go). That there is exactly what I do not want as an experience. So its a bit of a dilemma for me. Plenty of time to consider the options though and I'll keep and open mind in the mean time. -

So hard to sum it up. You remember the 'first time' don't you? First up, commiserations to Snowy. Can't believe how well he took it all. Nasty turn of events but a reality check as to what can happen. The road was sublime and the car was in its element, but it was really when we got onto practicing the notes that it went to the next level. We had a dry-ish run in the morning of the second day and there was no pace car in front and we got to go for it. We stayed on notes until about 3/4 of the way through and had such a terrific run. It was the defining run of the weekend and I'll never forget it. We worked out where and why we fell of notes for the next run, and managed to stay on them a little longer for the next slower wetter run, but we'd made progress and learned heaps. Great weekend socially too, so thanks to the SAU boys for making it a fun one after the driving was over. Now I'm wondering how to approach things. 32R is maybe too heavy, old and powerful to hold together and the Porker is too expensive to crash, so.............showroom Emo? Heresy? May I be banished...... One step at time. I'll do another touring and see where that leads. Thanks to everyone who's given me good guidance to this point. -

Oh how the bug has bit...... -
Per the title and photos. These are in perfect condition save for some insignificant scratches. These have been in my car since 2009 and were bought with track & tarmac rally in mind. They were purchased and fitted brand new from Techsport in Bayswater in 2009. I have different plans for the car now so the original stuff is going back on and some of the add ons are being sold. Spring rates are 8.0 Front / 6.2 kgf/mm Rear or 448 / 347 lbf/in. Springs are non-linear. More information here www.dmshocks.com. Height adjustable, independent compression and rebound dampening adjustment. Comes with instructions and adjustment tool. The car these were fitted to is rarely driven so have had little use. They include some custom fabricated tops (not spherical bearings) done by Techsport. $2,500 and I’ll post anywhere at your expense. You’re welcome to make reasonable offers as I’m unsure of the market price but these have been off the car for around 6 months and I’m not in a rush, so don’t expect me to fall in love with the first low ball offer. Any genuine questions or enquiries are welcome via PM.

Anyone going to the Mt Baw Baw sprint? I've entered in the touring section. Be a good intro for me as I've no experience with this scene. Be good to meet anyone on here if you're going too. Cheers -
Was plugs. Cheers.
-
OK, I'm going to try the plugs and see how we go. I'll ask the workshop but may as well ask here what plugs to use. From memory reading these types of topics the go is to stick with copper plugs and not get anything fancy? Thanks.

Hey Terry, what is 'Nismo Black' when it's in a Dulux Powdercoat Colour Selector Chart? I'm tossing up between matt or satin black powdercoat for a set of rims of mine and can't decide. To my eye your finish looks like satin as it is reflecting some light. Any chance you could confirm? Cheers.
-
Not sure how many Nissans run this size but let me know what you've got. I'm looking for good quality used. Cheers.
-
Same ECU. Power FC from about 4 years ago. Come to think of it the fuel pump was replaced too. It was a new Nismo item, pretty much a bolt in replacement with higher flow rate. Not sure if relevant. Prolly not.

G'day guys. I'll try and stick to the facts. Got the car back from having a fair bit of work done which included, amongst other things, the engine coming out. The only thing I can think of that's relevant to the misfire is the tune which was done as I had new dumps put on. It was OK at first but I think the misfire has progressed (I don't drive it a lot so hard to 100% suss it out) where it is now quite pronounced between 5800 - 6300. It's nmot noticeable in first, but in second and third you pick it up (I'm guessing first its not under as much load and it moves through the misfire range quickly). The upper end of that range is a guess as it actualy goes on to make power again, to the redline. So it's like its fluffing in that range only.....Now, the coilpacks were replaced with new Splitfires about 3 years ago, but I'd be lucky to have done 10,000klms since then so I'd expect them to be OK. Any guesses before I start problem solving with someone who is charging me for the pleasure? Thanks in advance.
