  1. Terrific. See you there.
  2. Wow. Seems it's RB or GTFO.....
  3. Mille Miglia or Hi-Tech in Sydney.
  4. Well I got all excited about it.
  5. Anyone here going to the Lake Mountain Sprint 24th & 25th Nov?
  6. Phone bought. Thanks guys. What a great community and resourse SAU is
  7. Thanks Cowboy. Yes Vodafone are terrible but they are cheap and it's part of an overall company plan so no flexibility there. I'll check out Mobicity. Cheers.
  8. Awesome! LSD won't be much good to you though.
  9. Guys, not interested in discussing Apple vs Android or my choice of a 4s. I'm with Vodafone and they do not sell the 4s anymore so if I want one I've got to go get it somewhere else, mainly ebay. All the usual sellers from Honkers are there and you can get a 4s delivered for about $620 which seems reasonable enough. They all claim to be unlocked and compatible with all AUS networks etc. I'm expecting the charge it up, register it, throw my SIM in (I've got an iPhone 3 so yes I'll need a new micro SIM) and away I go. Anyone had experiences doing this that worked out, or perhaps didn't. Not knowing a whole lot about this area I can only go on what I'm told using a degree of commmon sense, so be good to hear from someone who actually knows or has done it themselves. Cheers.
  10. Argh me harties. All went to plan. Passenger side has a couple more screws. One is obvious as it's in the handle only on the passenger side and has a clip in cover over it. The other you need to pop out the window switch and it's sitting in behind there. Adjustment pretty easy. Took it for a quick drive and to an extent the adjustment has worked but there's still more rattling things in there. Thanks for your input.
  11. Against my better judgment I'm going to give this a go today to inspect the mechanisms that hold the glass, as the glass rattles, window up or down, and both sides too. I'm think there will be some locating lugs and they're worn. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/285604-tutorial-r34-gtt-door-panel-removal-guide/page__p__5164353__hl__door%20skin%20removal__fromsearch__1#entry5164353 Something like this thread but for the R32 GTR would be terrific but I can't find anything. Can you link me up if there is something. If not, could someone give me some top tips. Hard to find screw locations, tricky bits, the overall order in which you go about it etc. Thanks.
  12. This is about 1 hour into the drive from Hobart to Strahan. Haven't bothered to work out exactly where I was. 10:15 there is some good oversteery action. You'll have to turn the sound up as I had the mic on a low level due to the loud zorst. Still distorts....Poor sound at the end is me opening a window as I was boiling hot after the hills run!
  13. I got this now. I've been fiddling around the conversion software and the bitrate is completely proportional to the file size. 2,000kbps seems to give a good enough resolution for the small youtube screen and a reaonsably small file size and upload time. Thanks again. I'll post up some vid I've got later today. I'm a little disappointed in the audio but try to work through this.
  14. Hey Tim. Thnaks for that. What is a typical bitrate? The software is defaulting to 1248kbps. Is this a good start point?
  15. G'day Ben. I took your precise routes both south and then west / north and it was awesome. Absolutely awesome. Best drives of my life. I did about 1300 klms overall and the old girl turned in 14.5l/100 which is amazing. Highlight was the Hobart to Strahan drive which I managed to get done in 3 hours and 18 minutes on wet roads. I probably overtook about 6 vehicles in than time which is around 300 klms.......Drove as fast as conditions allowed the whole way. In the end I missed Hellyer Gorge as the passenger side zorst fell off after which it was excruciatingly loud and all I could do was limp it home to Dev with my 'spirit o tassie shared berth' ear plugs in. I drove for about 30 klms with the zorst dragging on the tarmac as the road was too unsafe to pull over and it was tipping it down. In the end I pulled over the it fell off about 20m behind where i came to a halt. I walked back to it was it was a steaming mess that was half ground away. Had no choice but to kick it into the ditch and keep moving on. Part of the Porker has now been returned to the earth! Mechanic said it wasn't that well supported and the harmonics on the GT3s kinda blast the zorst to pieces in the end which I guess after about 5 hours of flat out driving was what may have happened! I also inadvertantly ran over some road kill in an early part of the trip and I figure that might have done some damage too as it made a hell of a din going under the car. I also had a bit of a tank slapper trying to pass someone in second just after I ran it over. I figured the rears were covered in mammal goo! Very grateful for the advice and can confirm the route is a winner. Only downside is that due to the light and weather the first couple of hours of driving off the boat was in the dark. Will post vids once I can work out a quicker upload than 400 fkn minutes per file.
  16. Guys, just got back from a Tassie trip and have many a movie to upload to youtube. Trouble is the first file (which is typical) is nearly 2gb and about 15 mins long and YT is telling me it's going to take 400 minutes to upload. Seems clunky to me. Is there a smart way of doing this? Maybe file compression before uploading? Thanks.
  17. Richmond Bridge Sunday.
  18. White R33 GTST turning right off the main drag just before you leave Queenstown. Today.
  19. Well I made it. Hobart to Strahan was 3 hours and 18 minutes. Not much traffic on the roads (whistling emoticon). Took another 2 hours and 40 minutes to get from Strahan to Devonport. 6 hours all up. Had a mishap in that my passenger side exhaust fell off.......drove 30 klms with it dragging on the ground (nowhere safe to stop pissing down with rain) before it fell off just as I was pulling over. Damaged the rear bar. Is so loud now I have to wear ear plugs to drive it. I've now got the ferry ride to recover as I'm buggered. Oh, and that was the drive of my life. Utterly sublime. Thanks for your input fellas.
  20. Cheers. So by cradle mountain do you mean via Middlesex up to Dev, rather than Bernie to Dev? If so that's about an hour saved, which could be critical. I'd miss Hellyer Gorge but I guess you can't have it all sometimes.
  21. OK, weather is at worst wet. Low temps are at around 9 degrees to no chance of snow or ice. I'll have to average 80klms/h including fuels stops to make it. I'll detour via West Coast if I think I'm struggling for time when I get to Queenstown. Fuel is at Rosebery and Strahan too if needed so either way I'm covered. The old Porker is getting 15 l/100 even with hard driving so that's a great relief compared to the GTR.... Big day tomorrow........
  22. Cheers for the popo heads up. Whst's the best place for the weather report? BOM or something local? Still keeping an open mind on west coast. If I run out of time I can miss Hellyeah Gorge and Burnie.
  23. Thanks mate. Sounds touch and go. Will consider an East Coast route as a backup.
  24. How long will this take? Was planning to do it Monday. Got to be at the boat 18.30. Google maps say a little over 7 hours which I figured I'd better. Local guy I met said Hobart to Strahan alone is 5 hours.....More locals said there might be snow there too and the road closed. What say you Tassie Crew?
  25. Thanks mate. Caltex is ulseful but United are basically in Launy only with 98. Thankfully BP have their act together and have outlets in Stahan and Rosebery. Pretty slim pickings otherwise, over the westside.
