  1. For the people not being constructive, go away. For the people like me who have to put up with this at work because the boss says so, then goes out, and gets narky when the station gets changed. Just send the bloody email please. Its not that hard. I got a few emails back today, so give it another month or so I might annoy them enough. One even said they have never been dared not play the same song, so the idea IS working. Just a bit of support, come on!
  2. Soon soon if I ever get the barstard thing back! Stupid arse 1 peice tailshafts!
  3. Thing is, with the QLD laws it is resonable suspision. They dont have to prove bugger all. In the future, if someone goes to race you like that, put your foot on the brake. This way its quite obvious you werent racing. But I suggest if you do fight it, do something about your car being in the impound for 48hours (ie part of your punishment) before you were properly convicted of any wrong doing by the court.
  4. Personally Id like to be able to sell my ceffy one day for actual real money. So can you do the same with yours so the market stays ok. I would think as yours is kinda a one of a kind, you have done the right stuff with the stereo etc as well, I would try $17k and take offers.
  5. Oh yeah, and just leave REALLY big gaps in the wet
  6. Ok from what I know, its obviously a thinner oil. So its used when you have lazy syncros etc, the box is still stuffed, but it will give you a bit of time to save. Now when we pulled out the redline oils book to, their shockproof ultralight said in terms of thickness it was near on identical to auto fuild. Its basically due to the additive in it. So your options would be, auto fuild at what $25 for 4L? Some normal fuild and aditive, cost would depend on additive and the actual oil you pick, or the redline stuff at $100+. If the box is RS anyway, just go the auto stuff.
  7. I dont mean to sound rude, but just learn to brake without abs. Technically you should be able to stop faster, if your good it wont unsettle the car as much blah blah blah. You might get the odd lock up here and there, but hey, you get that.
  8. Yes I know, its called payola by some. Just send off the emails please! Do your bit!
  9. No idea. But they wouldnt want to give away only 1 cd. So they would have repeated the songs a fair bit anyway. Really I dont want to hear the same song ever in a 24 hour day on the radio. Dont put a brick wall up, just email them damn it.
  10. Ok, so the other day, I was listening to the radio at work, it happened to be nova, they had their best of CD in again. So the boss went out, I changed it to B105, as thats all it was picking up, and well, they must of had their best of CD in as well. Then on the way home, when I didnt have the cefiro for a few week, I had triple J on, not to as much of an extent, but I think at the time they had all the hottest 100 cds in the stacker on shuffle. So what I would like EVERYONE to do, is email their favorite radio station, maybe with a link to this for the people who choose not to email their fave station. And what I would like you to do, is to DARE them, not ask but DARE them to not play the same song for a 48 hour peirod. By same song I mean, I dont want to hear 20 differnet remixes of the same song. 48 hours of different songs. I think it would be REALLY easy for the radio stations, I have about 25days worth of music, and well put bluntly, I just dont have that much vairety! I know these radio stations do. So easy, email radio station, DARE THEM TO NOT PLAY THE SAME SONG FOR 48 HOURS! I dont think they will do it. contact details... b105 http://www.b105.com.au/contact/index.php nova http://www.nova1069.com.au/onAir/Contact.aspx Just a suggestion with nova, CC the general manager as well. Triple M http://www.triplemrocks.com.au/admin/contact/index.php Triple J http://abc.net.au/triplej/contact/default.htm Altho triple J isnt as bad, they are national, so we might have to really pound them. Also maybe email the hack show there too, they dont always seem triple J bias.
  11. I think the problem with a lot of people isnt so much the supporting mods bit, but the 'other' supporting mods bit. Such as big engine you need big brakes, suspension, diffs, gearboxes etc. They all seem to be after thoughts. Im going the other way, atm, all I need to do is the rear brakes and Im ready for whatever I want to throw at the car, everything else is up to the task. But other than money the reason Im not is I still need to learn how to drive the car properly, when I am 100% confident with how it is now, I'll start with a few small bolt ons etc, and slowly build my way up. If I then find something isnt copeing, that will get up graded before I go further.
  12. Cause that will get the chicks yeah?
  13. End of the day all this only works with speed cameras. If you get pinned by Mr policeman with a radar gun, you cop it sweet.
  14. Other than the options already listed.... Go mental on the head, cams, etc, as much as you can either afford or is posible to do with the head, get the HEAD o-ringed also. Then just keep on buying short bottom ends. Or if you buy a compleat motor, sell the head and the turbo off that. I think you will find tho, it could be your tune, the power your getting isnt THAT much, I think with a lot of head work you could get a fair wack more, and a good tune will get more and make it safer. The swap engine will also be a LOT faster than getting a new one built up. But yeah, unlimited budget, build a fullhouse RB30DET/T.
  15. People, I think petrol prices going up isnt an overly bad thing. Interest rates would skyrocket otherwise. But you can all blame it on China, its their fault. They are building effectivly the city of Brisbane every month. A few WA iron ore mines have signed either 10 or 15 year contracts with China. They are just using so much.
  16. I saw a skyline tonite. It was white, an R33, and had one of those special little wings people get now a days. It also had a stuffed left head light. Btw, if you are the owner of this car DO NOT TAILGATE ME EVER AGAIN WHILE I AM IN THE SLOW LANE DOING THE SPEED LIMIT!!! Then do not proceed to cut me off. If you do it again, look out! Im sorry, I just dont like tailgaters, its my PET hate on the roads, especially when Im in the slow lane! *bad week.*
  17. Thats about it. I could get it legal here, then drive across the boarder and get pinned for it. As the boarder is all of about 50mins away, its not that difficult. That said everything is legal, just depends on how much money you got on hand to bribe the cop that pulled you over
  18. Is this legal? Where is the really fast talking person at the end saying all the legal stuff? I want to hear it damn it!
  19. Well to give a quick update. We rasied the box up another 5mm today, did bugger all. However we also had the rear end up on stands, and took it up to about 100-110kmh, the tailshaft, diff, gear stick etc hardly moved, yet the left rear wheel, and not so much the right rear wheel did start to flop about a bit. Now before you say wheel blanance, I have had two sets of wheels on the rear now, both didnt have a problem before, both now do, at the same speed. However having a 2 way diff, and no load could be playing with that a bit. Anyway, its going on a dyno tomorrow to try and narrow it down more. We have decided to narrow it down to diff bearing, or the tailshaft. But if anyone else has any ideas, post them up, we are all ears.
  20. You know the best way to chose an ECU? Find a tuner that you trust, and ask them. If you find a tuner and go, tune this, and they have never used it before, they will obviously give it a go, but it probably wont be as good. And you have to trust the tuner, its a bit like a doctor, you wouldnt go back if he gave you panadol and a slap on the back if you broke your hip in 3 places. Thats what I think anyway. Also it seems most people are using the PFC as its a plug and play pretty much, from memory wolf, haltech, etc all do plug in's now too.
  21. I gota admit the oil change one isnt hard. I dont even jack up my car now. Just let it drain while Im having breaky on a Sat morning every 5000-7000kms. If one of your mates knows how to do an oil change, get them to show you a few times. The rest if your not experienced and dont have the tools I wouldnt be too worried about, as mentioned they arent going to be done all the time. I would just check out those prices on the motul products, I sware I didnt pay anywhere near that at all for either the oil or the brake fluid. In fact last time, Autobarn, $55.00 for the Motul 8100 engine oil...
  22. Ok, so got the rb25 gearbox in. Car moves, so all is well. Get it up to speed it starts to vibrate. So back the car goes to check if the shaft is actually ballanced correctly and is straight, my mechanic went down with the car, so apparently thats fine. (apparently) So the drivetrain people said the uni's have too much stress on them, the box needs to be raised. So, that was done, was rasied up 10mm, did bugger all to nothing (vibration moved from say 80kmh-90kmh, so an improvement). Now my mechanic is saying it could be my diff angle. As I have those funky pineapple things, and the car being a cefiro, its most probably set up for drift. So, now my question. Is chaning the diff angle going to help, or is the drivetrain mob trying to fob us off. Others oppinions so far is the shaft has a slight bow or bend in it. Therefore meaning even if balanced, it will still wobble. That said Id like to change the diff angle regardless. Also what damage could I be doing by continuing to drive it? BTW, as I forgot. Car is an 1988 cefiro, rb20det, with now an rb25det manual gearbox. One peice tailshaft like the topic says. So any thoughts please post away.
  23. I prefer to say See Fear Oh So who is up for a QLD meet?
  24. I know I dont live down there, but why not have many BBQs? That way if someone cant make it to one, they can make it to the OTHER one, and that way everyone really is pleased?
  25. The Navara speed drive is almost identical to the GTR one. You just take the gear off, and put the R33 one on. Its a bit of a hassle. Its not shorter... Unless you are thinking of something else? And the reason for a one peice was it was going to be $650 to fix my 2 peice as it had stuff wrong with it, the bearing or something. So the replacement 1 peice was cheaper. The apparent advantage is they are lighter, as I had to go for a heavier flywheel in the conversion process, I think its made a difference with the new combo. Im just saying, before you go to do the conversion, see what else is stuffed. If you need a full new tailshaft, allow money for that, if your clutch/flywheel is buggered, allow for that.
