Soon soon! I should get the car back today/tomorrow so I will put as much up about the gearbox conversion as I can. No pics tho sorry, dad took the camera to Melbourne with him. But I searched and never found anything concrete on what needed to be done, what part numbers etc were needed. So I'll put all that up. -
RB25DET s1 clutch slave cyl needed ASAP!!!
dangerous_daveo replied to dangerous_daveo's topic in Queensland
I'll ask the mechanic what I have left tomorrow. Assuming I get the car back this week Im just going to drive all weekend so no probs dropping it off or whatever. But yeah, I shall be trying that place, hopefully the boss wont mind me dissappering for an hour or two to pick something up. -
Or, spend $10k on the car you have now, do say an rb30dett, loads of power both up top and down low. Put $30k in to shares or something, and in 5 years time buy a house, a car, a boat etc

It might be a cef seat... But you would want to be a midget. Mine are like full on rear buckets, its almost just a 4 seater over a 5 seater. And its still hit head on roof like that! But the just have a little hole. You pull down the arm rest, then once that is down you can open up the hole to the boot.

RB25DET s1 clutch slave cyl needed ASAP!!!
dangerous_daveo replied to dangerous_daveo's topic in Queensland
Thats for RB20 ones. If you need an RB20 one sing out man. As I dont need my rb20 one anymore, it was recoed about 5months ago too. If you want it sing out. If you also want an rb20 box for parts... -
If anyone can help in ANY way at all on this one, please do. Im after a RB25DET series 1 clutch slave cyl. Good, bad whatever condition. Also if anyone knows where I might be able to get a generic one new that would also be awesome, in fact probably better. Just any info. ASAP, as the tailshaft should be done by tomorrow so the slave will be all that is holding up the works. *for anyone who asks, yes I do know I have an rb20 in my cefiro, this is for my rb25 box which is now in my cefiro.*

That said, they REALLY dont like southerners. So get those plates changed asap! BTW Im joking, keep the VIC plates as long as you can, its too much paper work for them if they think you are interstate.

Compaired to a $1500 2 way? I dont mean to sound rude, but a locked diff is a locked diff, it doesnt matter how fancy the diff is, or whats in it. If its locked its that simple.

If you stand on the brakes until its on some decent boost it wouldnt be too bad. That or maybe experiment with cams, and go for something really crazy there.
-
Maybe get actual gills put in the bonnet, by using the metal the bonnet is made out of? It is a little exxy, but I think it would look better.
-
Out of interest, have any of you lot played Grand Prix Legends? (older game 60s F1 cars). If so, which is the harder of the two? I found GPL to be a little too much of a challenge considering I dont have any real racing background, they did say GPL would be the hardest game ever made because they didnt have a good FF system in those days. But I found Sports Car GT a tad easy at times. Comments would be appreciated, as NFS is losing its appeal. Porshce and hot pursuit 2 that is, neither of the ricey ones.

I dont think they do, they might. But I look at a skyline aftermarket exaust and its got 'lots' of bends in it. I look at my cefiro one, and its got kinda one kink in it.

VG30DE/TT tranny on RB25DET?
dangerous_daveo replied to DETurbine's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Over here a lot of the time cost wise the option is rebuild box or get a new one. There isnt THAT much in it. Over there I would hope anyway rebuilds of gearboxes would be the same or less. So that would make me think a rebuild would be the best option, and then you know you got new bits, not some 2nd hand bit of junk (which will most likely be fine, but you can never be too sure) -
He also does the 'Jett racing' cars from memory. Few others. Daniel who is next door normally does a lot of the pulling out of the engines etc. Id recomend him highly for the 'mechanic' bit.
-
Mine were Kei Office before the rebuild, and yeah, they were RS. Full on stuffed. That said, where I took them to be rebuilt I would NEVER go back there.
-
JHH for rebuild. At least talk to John at JHH, I dont have the number handy but it should be in the white pages. He is really quite good. But one thing LISTEN to him, do NOT say I am having this this and this. He knows what he is talking about. One case, the guy gave him cams, and well, dont do that when you have a 300zx, it costs a LOT of money to keep pulling the engine out, and putting it back. But yeah, JHH for PM!

If you say the spring are too hard. DO NOT BUY JAPANESE, the reason the D2 ones are going would be they just can not and do not like Aussie roads. I would get yours rebuilt, and get some new springs. Or get something less harsh.

4.9m turning circle!!!??? Is that right? That is insane if it is!

As if you need to save money if your going to the Casino! You ALWAYS win! Hope you have a ripsnorter of a day, and a nice relaxing holiday. And just remember, a quiet Andrew is only a push off the side of the tour boat away

You should wander down a race track and talk to some of the F4000 (I belive it is now anyway) boys. They seem to really like the holden dohc V6, and dont knock the old one too much either. I think some of you need to realise without holden and ford this country would not have its own car so to speak. Do you realise the commodore equivents in the US and EU are FWD? Holden have gone to the effort to change the car to make it RWD, and fit a bigger engine in there etc. Ford went out on a bit of a lim and made a larger capacity dohc engine, then wacked a fair size snail on the side. End of the day, we arent a overly large player in the whole car market thing. Its a shame its gone in one way, but it will be good to see what comes out next. I feel we could have a power battle back on our hands, just this time maybe something more that just outright power and speed.

rb20/25 gearbox differences
dangerous_daveo replied to fangns13's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Just allow to fix up the clutch and fly wheel etc. I didnt, and yeah, it can cost a bit. -
As in mine? They MIGHT be "Otech" thats whats on the auction sheet. But I honstly have no idea. They are red ones

rb20/25 flywheel. same?
dangerous_daveo replied to dnb's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I belive so. Or I should say I hope so, as Im putting a GTR one in the car tomorrow... (car being rb20 powered). Umm, I didnt word that properly. They should both bolt up, I dont think they are actually the same tho. -
I think he would Andrew He would go "oh, there is Andrew hanging out his random van again..."
