I gota admit, I thought I was over protective of my car by a long way. Seems not. Its rarely out of my sight, or someone I knows site. Always locked, everything always covered. Parked away from other cars so they dont run in to it, open doors on to it, but not so far away that anyone can break in without been seen. I always put the factory steering lock on too. Seats back over amps. Rug over cds etc. Steering wheel cover just to cover up its a sports steering wheel. Anything to make my car just that little bit less attractive over the car next to it. Try running a 98octane fuel. See if that helps. But my rb20 in my 1450kg car gets 9.9l per 100kms. Id be worried and start looking for the problem.

Ahh ok, cool pretty simple. What about cross member if you know? Im guessing it needs custom anyway, if so, non issue. And Id guess speedo cable is gtr, same as r32 gtst conversions use?

Do you know whats needed with the slave cylinder at all??? Is it as simple as using a RB25 one? Or does the rb20 one need modding? If so what? And yeah, I knew about the tailshaft, thats pretty much a non issue.

I thought it was up to 25? Dont want to start an argument, but yeah. I think whoever is getting done is asking to be done in that age group. Some is BS, but they are in the position to get dilled.

Going by that, and the other guy that got done for the first time in 5 years that he had his skyline. Im really failing to see how some people say import drivers are targeted hey. Bad luck tho, but you know you were in the wrong, so its all good. I mean, they are right, if you speed one day you will be caught.

I spoke to my mechanic today, he wasnt keen on the idea. Mostly because he has to charge me money to do it, and he doesnt want to charge me that much His words were ''its not that bad yet''.

Thanks for that. Not trying to sound stupid, but you say suits skyline and silvia (should therefore suit cefiro too...) But on the site the part numbers dont match up. I know what its like sometimes tho, different code, same thing, or visa versa. Id just like conformation please.

There was one up here with a 1.3 swift motor and a turbo, and I belive that got a 12.1. Pretty sure it had a bit more poke than that tho.

Because it broke... And then a new one, will break, and so on and so on. Its basically wasting money. Everything bolts on clutch wise etc, its just cross members and tailshaft.

What about the speedo cable? I would assume you wouldnt have to change it? Like you use the gtr one for an R33 box conversion, so GTR one should work fine yeah?

As per topic but expanded a bit more. If I were to buy an RB26 GTR gearbox, with transfer case and all, how would I go about moding it to put in to a RWD RB20 application. Is it just a simple case of unbolt transfer case, and bobs your uncle (I wouldnt have thought so, but who knows). Really Im lost with this one. Ive just done a quick search and got no where. All I know is it can be done, and the reason is it is normally a cheaper option. If anyone has done it can you please post in here asap. I REALLY need to know.

Ok, due to my decision to buy an RB25 gearbox Im going to have to get rid of the RB20 one I have now. Reason for sale/condition of box: front and rear seals are gone, I belive I can get these replaced due to the box still being under warrenty, I spoke to the shop today, they seem happy to do so. The box is still under warrenty from January this year when the seals, and all bearing, and the 5th gear selector fork were replaced receipt for this. HOWEVER, I shall not lie about this, It would seem the gearbox has a lazy syncro or two, thinner oil SHOULD help solve this problem while cold, (ie superlight shockproof by redline, its apparently as thin as auto box oil, IE thin). Once the gearbox is warm, it is as smooth as a babys bum. So put bluntly, it needs either a new syncro, or thin oil to stop the crunch it has atm. That said it might be something else, and you could get lucky and pick up a cheap box with no problems. I just dont wish to waste anymore time and money on it. Where: Logan, in the car atm, so if anyone is quick they can 'test drive' the box. After that it will be at my mechanics for as long as I can leave it there. Included: whatever I dont need to do a gearbox conversion. Should be more than enough for anyone doing a straight swap. The box would have about 120 000kms on it by now, there abouts. Finally price: $350.00 ono. And Im open to offers, really I have no idea what its worth, but put it this way, thats half of my orginal outlay for my half rebuild. Hi, going by the stuff under your avatar you live in qld? If so where abouts. Im interested in the gtr box if I can somehow adapt it to a rb20 in a cefiro. Reason Im not going to find an rb25 box with a rebuild history for $1200, hell I dont think I'll find an RB25 box for $1200. If it bolts up, its a good option. If you can let me know that would be great. Its urgent so location is an issue.

Quick question. I read about these pull type and push type clutches/boxes? Whats the difference and which one do I need? And which comes out in what? Im just posting in this as its fairly recent. I shall keep searching tho.

This is pretty urgent fellas, front seal is leaking on my semi stuffed rb20 box. So why waste money fixing the weak link, and just replace it with the RB25. Cost wise isnt too bad. But basically, I can go read all the RB25 boxes in to R32s but it dont mean squat if the cefiro is that much different. So if anyone knows if its the same please let me know asap. If its no and you know what is needed please list it. If its yes, well shes apples. Thainks, and once again, this is URGENT.

Im after an RB25DET manual gearbox. Needs to be suited to bolt to an RB20DET, so I belive it needs to be a S1 R33 box. Having the yoke and the shifter would be necessary as well. Pref SE QLD, but I can get transport needed. A recent rebuild history would be REALLY good. And freshly rebuilt box not used after the rebuild would be awesome, and Id pay money to suit. But dont BS me, I will want to see recepts for work carried out. PM me or post in here. Or email if your really keen [email protected] NOTE this is urgent as my front seal on my RB20 box is leaking, and will stuff my clutch really rather shortly. The RB20 box can be fixed, but for about the same as doing the RB25 box.

Or a laural? They should be the same?
