  1. You clever bugger, you seem to be right about them using MHI parts. So all they have done for these turbos is add custom housings and mix/match MHI/Garrett parts.
  2. Check out the new Turbonetics GTK series... available in twin scroll housing. http://turboneticsinc.com/turbochargers/gt-k-turbochargers-hpc-billet-compressor-wheels Does anyone know if Turbonetics design all their own components i.e. wheels, housings, etc.
  3. Aside from the issues obvious above, to draw something positive out of it, it seems that the 6258's are a good match to the RB26. Has Full-Race officially offered the manifolds and turbochargers as a kit yet? What would pricing be like?
  4. Still interested mate; give me a call or text if you cant PM Mike 0432 562 025
  5. Just to add, I guess if you take the line that you already have a R33 GTR (i.e. like I do) and then you make a decision one way or another. Sorry, just to keep the thread on a lead.
  6. That is what I am thinking Mike. It is a lot of weight and cost (from an initial stand point and also ongoing maintenance) to remove the front diff and transfer case and all associated components. Will make the dry sump pan easy too. Also, instead of spending $10k on a PPG dog box you could spend a touch more and get yourself a refreshed used Holinger. You know "guys like us" dont have enough money to make any car quicker than competitors
  7. Hey Charles, I have the PSS9's coilovers too they are a good thing.
  8. Oh man, first time someone has given me a proper forum insult "umad"... brilliant; cheers for the quote though champ. Thanks Brad was waiting for you to chime in... oh and mate can you email me still keen for that sump!!!!! Getting drawing of my custom designed pump, will send through details for your interest. Was the reason the Japanese GT cars went with RWD platform for their GTR's to do with rules or for the reliability, weight improvements?
  9. Let me apologise to the forum police. This is specific to the motorsport guys with genuine experience and semi/professional opinion not a bunch of teenagers who want to drift their GTR or do burnouts.
  10. Interesting... would you be as fast or faster as a R32 GTR with the same power? I recognise that there are a lot of other differences. Sorry but I do not know a lot about track times and what is good where.
  11. Congratulations on being the first to make that comment but not the intention of the thread. We are talking about a GTR with less weight at the front (50-100kg?) dry sump with lowered engine (lower COG), no t/case... maybe a seq. gearbox too. In comparison with a similar spec. GTR with 4WD and the additional weight associated... same power i.e. 600hp.
  12. First thread start in this section so please be gentle. Thinking about track/race only R32/R33/R34 GTR's with no 4WD... is the trade off between the weight lost at the front without the front diff., drive shafts and also transfer case behind the gearbox be a greater advantage over the 4WD grip? When you consider when you remove the front sump/diff. you could fit a custom shallow dry sump oil pan, without the transfer case you could fit a ex-Supertaxi seq. box without worrying about the transfer case. The GT cars in Japan were all rear wheel drive only be it for rules or reliability. What are peoples thoughts?
  13. Exactly. So these turbos just have a higher flowing compressor wheel? I guess it has the word of the week in the sale pitch ("billet") so they will probably sell lots of these to people. It would need the surge slotted compressor housing considering a larger compressor wheel with the same turbine side would be more prone to surging...
  14. Did John Munro get a time down in his R33?
  15. Did John Munro get a time down in his R33?
  16. Needed to take some measurements and use as a samply etc, dont really want to go to the trouble of removing one from my running car. Local SA preferred, will pay cash. PM or text/call 0432 562 025 Mike
  17. Mate, do you have a set of uprights for the R33 GTR? (not sure if R33 GTS and GTR are the same, need to check FAST). Mike 0432 562 025
  18. Here you go; I will deliver it for you if you pay my air fare back
  19. A cross section of one of the intake and exhaust ports please, if you dont mind Bobby?
  20. Bobby, do you have any photos of the heads you cut up? Like a cross section?
