  1. Thanks mate!! Yeah already planning Gatebil 2015, I cant wait!! I recommend it to anyone who loves fast cars. May I ask what oil you are running in your diff? How is yours on the street?
  2. Diff is in all but all did not go plan... So got the diff in yesterday and I admit it "was" awesome. Felt super soild and more aggressive than standard. felt like it tightened everything up in the rear end. Was a small amount inside wheel spin on tight corners but totally manageable and very easy to live with. Went to the Skyline Skidpan day in Gympie and it was awesome, very responsive and would kick the rear end out with ease and felt controllable and you did not need to put huge amounts of steering input in to keep it sideways. And then badness happened... It felt like it happened instantly but I just got very loud bangs and knock when going around corners. At first I thought it was a cone but nothing was under the car. I got off the track and just did some tight corners and it sounds like the rear wheels are going to fall off, just loud bangs and knocks and very violent. When driving in a straight line it is fine though, no noises at all. Only around corners. My mate thinks its the oil, it has broken down and not doing its job. Im unsure... Anyone have any input on this? I might try to change the oil tomorrow and see if it makes a difference.
  3. Thanks mate! Your build has been the inspiration for mine! Was so happy to see someone using proper genuine parts and taking the time to build an R32 properly. The exact same approach I want to take with mine and just do things properly first time with no cutting corners. Also love that your car gets taken to track and drift days and your not afraid to drive it hard! I am in the same boat with my engine too... Unsure what to do now, stick with the 20 or go 25? Right now its reliable so I am happy with that.... But the thirst for more power is starting to kick in..
  4. My god that rear subframe looks amazing!! I also have a white Gtst, feel free to check my build thread if you get a chance! Would love some feedback. Do you have any big plans for the engine?
  5. Im from Mooloolaba, own a white r32. Will be at the next Auto one meet for sure... Could not get to the last one as the car was getting painted. I usually go for drives on Sundays around the coast so you might see me
  6. Cant wait for this! This will be my 5th one... Still don't think I am any better than my first time. Last time I went I ran new tyres and this made a massive difference. No more understeer and a much more controllable slide So keen to get out there and meet some other local Skyline owners!
  7. Bought it from Nengun Online. It was damn expensive... about $1200 plus the customs fees. I was looking forever on Yahoo Japan and locally but none showed up, or if they did they were thrashed. Of all the guys I have spoken too who drift and race cars they say the best thing you can do is get a proper LSD, and because I wanted to retain drivability and legality I went for this. Only took about 5 weeks, they told me it was going to be late November but a few days ago I got an email saying it had been shipped from Japan.
  8. Nismo LSD is going in today... little nervous as to how its going to drive. I really want it to retain some streetability. You can adjust its torque settings so I am going to leave it to Medium and have it set to 1.5 way. From all the research I have done these are very street friendly and not a whole lot of noise at low speed turns and regular driving but that remains to be seen. I also went for Fuchs Titan Sintopoid 75W-140 gear oil.. Of all the online research I did this oil was not mentioned once. Everyone seems to say Redline but it was just too expensive and I could not get it in time. The guy at Bursons said this is lightweight and shockproof and the exact same as the Redline stuff. Also said that plenty of race teams are running it now. In fact he only had one bottle left and had to run next door to some Rally workshop to get another for me. Description online: Premium gear oil for axle and transfer gearboxes, formulated with fully-synthetic base oils. Offers best cold start behaviour. Suitable for axle and transfer gearboxes with and without limited slip differential. SINTOPOID LS 75W-90 is suitable as trouble shooter for conventional manual transmissions. Really hope it all works out as I am going to the all Skyline Skidpan day at Gympie this weekend so I am totally out of time if something goes wrong.
  9. Overnight parts from Japan.... Nismo LSD and a couple of other goodies....
  10. Spent the last weekend under the car replacing the rear swaybar and steering rack bushes. Rear swaybar is a Whiteline 24mm. Not super hard to put on, hardest thing was removing the old one, there was not room for it to come out because of the exhaust. No noticeable difference yet, it does feel a little more solid in the rear end but until its driven hard its difficult to tell. I also adjusted it to the softest setting, so might play around with the 2 settings. Size comparison between the stock R32 swaybar and Whiteline 24mm. Upgraded steering rack bushed to Superpro ones. These where a bitch to fit, actually it was just the drivers side one. There is just no room for it to go in and it can only be mounted one way. I got it in multiple times but it was upside down. Just used a ton of silicon spray and tied a rope around the steering rack to the strut brace to lift the rack up a bit so I could use 2 hands. Noticed a big difference with these. Steering is much more direct and responsive. It also feels much more solid. Old Bushings
  11. Im keen for this! I live in Mooloolaba so I can meet everyone there
  12. Could not help myself, here is a few more. Will try to get better ones over the weekend. Decision was made to put on the plates I have owned since I was 23. Actually used to be on my old 180sx back in 2004... funny how fads come and go...
  13. Sneaky shot of how it is looking now... Could not be happier. Paint is all done and factory rear bar is on. Also just picked up R32 GTR Bonnet and grill. Plans this weekend include: Steering rack bushes Rear Sway bar and bushes New Nismo gearknob... (Has an alloy one now and in the Queensland summer it literally scalds your hands when parked outside) More pictures coming very soon...
  14. Will R32 ones be available in the future? Would love to get some
  15. Car is in getting painted right now Following is going down: OEM rear bumper getting put on with GTR Pods. (Old fibreglass bar was filled with bog and cracks) Front bar getting resprayed Roof Spoiler Took the old bar off and noticed that whoever put that vertex bar on has angle grinded off the rear tow hooks to make it fit... This sucks because I think they are one of the defining looks of the R32, makes it look more race car!! So I found a wrecked one and cut them off and getting them welded on. Hopefully get it back this week. Also chasing GTR front guards and bonnet if anyone knows of some up for sale... And in super fun happy amazing exciting news...... I ordered this from Japan! Nismo GT LSD PRO!! Without a doubt the most expensive thing I have bought yet but from speaking to plenty of guys and considering this car is street driven and I just do wet skid pan days I have been told this is the best upgrade for the money. I am sure the old one is worn too and lost any of its "limited slip function" 200,000 kms and and more than factory power will probably do that. So pumped to get it in the car!! Can anyone recommend a good diff oil to use with it?
  16. Almost no difference at all.. Honestly I did not notice any change
  17. Well I am back home now after 2 months of chilling and going broke in Norway so I can continue with the updates. The day I arrived home I could not believe it but the car started first go!! I had disconnected the battery and luckily it is brand new. I took it for a drive and all seemed to be ok. The next day however..... The water line that runs next to the exhaust manifold and around the back of the block had hardened and totally split dumping all the coolant on my garage floor. Thankfully I had the day off and I got some water hose and fixed it. Was lucky I had the day off cause the next day was another Slidewize Skidpan day up at Gympie. Car was amazing this day and I put it all down to running the 17" rims and new tyres, It totally changed the car, so much grip and much more controllable at the limit. I never will run worn down tyres for driving events again, they were the reason the car was understeering so much last time. Not sure if it was going to so many drifting events while in Norway but if feels like I am getting better and can pretty much link all the different tracks they had setup on the day... MAybe time to try it on dry tarmac?
  18. My beast on stock rims at a recent skidpan event R33 GTR rims for the street
  19. Sorry to bring up an old thread but don't want to start a new one as I feel this has been answered but I cant find it. I have an r32 manual with rb20det and box. I also have just obtained a r34 RB25DET Neo with manual box flywheel everything as it came from the R34. I want to put the 25 in the R32.... obviously Is there anything I need to be aware of with the gearbox? I just want to get all the parts I need before hand to make it as easy as possible. Thanks
  20. Just google f**kwithmeyouknowigotit instrumental Most of them are available for free online.
  21. The video I made. Hope you enjoy it
  22. Ha! yeah cheers, I actually chatted to Alexi after that run and asked what was up as you could tell that the car was not making the same sort of power. Apparently something got into cylinder 6 so it was only running on 5 cylinders. Still not a bad effort though!!
  23. This legend took me for some passenger laps in his fully setup drift R33. I got plenty of video footage so will edit a clip up in the next few days.
  24. Ok instead of throwing up all the pics of Gatebil in this thread I created a new thread in the motorsport section. Check it out here GATEBIL 2014
  25. Team Yellows cars always look the goods and are always creating a ton of smoke. This s14.5 rocks an insane 1000HP 2J. This JZX90 was a true stand out for me and doing insane high speed lock to lock fishtails up the main straight all weekend. The other part of Gatebil I had never seen before was the aftertrack party, and I was not going to miss out this year. Lets just say it is insane and basically crazy music festival. The crowd was nuts and a totally different side to Norway I had ever seen. But it was all safe and great fun after a long hot day on the track. Another day and another crazy engine conversion. V8 twin turbo in a golf.... Was so stoked to catch back up with Fredric Aasbo, the unofficial face of Gatebil. He actually bought 2 tees and a bunch of stickers from us!! The dude is so down to earth and super cool!! Another favourite is this RX7 powered by....... you guessed it 2JZ Powah!!!! Tor-Anders Ringnes in his new GT86 playing tandems with Fredrik Øksnevad... That exact moment you take a picture of a cars tire exploding... How to turn instantly your MX5 into an instant smoke machine.... And the winner of the insane engine conversion goes to this little Toyota Starlet!! 3SGTE engine up front.....and one out the back!! Also got to chill with Bil Baldwin, the crazy bearded track official from Formula D. Unfortunately on the Sunday afternoon there was a very serious accident. It was so bad that they canceled the final of the powerslide competition. All the information can be found over the Gatebil website It was a bad way to end what was a fantastic weekend. But still we had so much and it was a great way to welcome us back to Norway!! We will be at Gatebil 2015 and maybe... just maybe looking a little more professional without grandmas party tent!!
