if you were to get it engineered i know Athol has got my mate to put the wog mesh infront of his cooler, so i would be looking at doing that anyway. -
3Rd Annual Pre-Powercruise Dyno Day 18.02.12 Newcastle
Stevoss replied to Stevoss's topic in Events Archive
I was the first up on the Dyno managed a 190rwkw at 13psi untuned with healthy afr's so was pretty happy, specially since my first Dyno run at hunter awd dyno was 130kw :(Was good to see some other skylines, majority were r32's even 1 running a 1jz, good day for along as I was there. A few common skyline problems managed to find themselves but I think faulty coils may be the cause of a low reading for a weapon of a 34,and rb20's with a little heat soak. Other Cars were a decent amount of v8 utes, a few Silvia boys and xr6t with 350kw boiling coolant , which was cool to see in the overflow. Big thanks to the boys, even allowing me to run shotgun to pump some more boost in hope some people got photos. -

R33 Knock Sensor Bypass, Help Please
Stevoss replied to MICLEF's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
whoops, find the knock sensor on the block and cut the end off solder the resistor and run the other side of the wire to earth or use the wiring diagrams on here and cut it at the ecu and wire it to earth. -
if you have a decent builder they will neutral balance everything, 1 thing at a time, so you would only need to make sure the clutch is also neutrally balanced then you should be able to swap no worries.

R33 Knock Sensor Bypass, Help Please
Stevoss replied to MICLEF's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
from memory you need to wire in a resistor to earth to replicate a functioning knock sensor. here is a link http://forum.nistune.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2003&start=15 -

its exactly the same to the 040 except you put a barb fitting in the rail end and the filter sock on the feed end.
-
depending on where you have your turbo timer wired in you may be getting a voltage drop, because its probably not straight off the battery.

Top Feed Fuel Rail To Suit Standard Plenum
Stevoss replied to Stevoss's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
sorry i meant to update this thread i went and talked to my local Efi supplier and he said he has sold the fuel rails and injector set ups to install on a standard inlet manifold, i think his supplier was "premier parts" or something, will know more when i get around to it again i suppose. -
044 intank is win, it was very easy to do i dont know why anybody has problems, hardest part was opening the lid and cleaning the fuel sender which is a must do when you have the tank open
-
wont be going there then.
-
checked your timing with a timing light, i know they have issues with the cas offset, they are a weird number compared to some other nissans.

a guy up north does it http://driftspecpainting.webs.com/

Thank you very much rob82 you were exactly right, Noob Mistake, i worked it out it was the 2 pins 12v and signal were connected wrong, i was looking at the plug when wiring but should have been looking at the afm, swapped them around and bingo 0.52v at idle, doesnt matter with the 2 inner pins as they are both earths. hope this thread helps someone else out if they come across this problem.
-
i will check that now, it makes sense.
-
found a thread on ns.com with the same problem have sent him a pm and hope to get a response. http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=434324 also checked out to make sure i am getting 12v and earth at both pins on the car. resistance of the afm between pins is as follows 5.390kohms Signal - ground 0.2ohms ground - ground 12.60kohms 12v - ground 18.25kohms 12v - signal http://300zx-twinturbo.com/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=efec&dir=&config=&refresh=&slide=111&cycle=off&scale=0&design=default&total=190 had a look at that i am going to check for continuity from the ecu to the pin b, i dont know why that would be a problems as i have the standard 1 on the same circuit and no problems. i datalogged while trying to blow on the element and it didnt make any difference to the voltage on nistune.

i bought a brand new z32 afm from my local Efi specialist and after wiring it as per the diagrams a) empty b) signal to ecu c) ground d) ground e)12v f) empty i installed it and plugged in. switched to the reds ignition connected up the laptop and clicked consult on the nistune, looked at the afm voltage and i am getting 3.079v without having the car even switched on, i was thinking that it still should be reading about 0.5v even though it has a higher resolution??? Dodgy z32 afm ? part # 22680 30p00 a36-000 n62 7z15a unisia jecs corporation made in Japan Genuine Bosch. hmm any ideas?

to test the cas on the bench you will need to use a oscilloscope, this can also be done by petroject.
