  1. Power FC doesn't control knock it measures it and you have to control it. The Link (and Vipec, they are the same unit) using a knockblock system can self manage knock..
  2. I am sure the correct answer is the obvious one. Go your radiator shop and ask for a new one. Even if they have never heard of a Stagea they should be able to look through their Natrad catalogue and find one for you. They simply match the shape, position of the inlet & outlet make sure it has the heat exchanger for the autoetc and they should come up with the right one.
  3. $400 in NZ. Do a search or trawl back through this Stagea section - there are a number of options in Aus.
  4. And get a mate to drive the car and watch the road while you're watching the instruments!
  5. Genuine HDI is only $545 http://www.performance-wise.com/page43.htm
  6. Rings, bearings, rod bolts.
  7. A low temp thermostat won't cool a hot motor. When the thermostat is closed little cooling takes place. When it is open it makes no difference what kind of thermostat it is. Apparently the purpose of a low temp thermostat is to promote more even warming up of the engine. It won't solve any overheating problems but it will get your heater working more quickly in winter.
  8. Get a cheap new thermostat and spend your money on the radiator - if it is original get a recore (especially if you have an auto you don't want an a/market ally radiator).
  9. Yep Venom looks the goods and not a bad price eother. Thanks people.
  10. Does anyone have information about cat converters for high power (say more than 300kw) engines? In NZ it is now a requirement to run a cat and you can't get a cert or a wof without one (except for track cars). I have searched this forum and spent a few hours on the internet. The best cats seem to have a steel or metallic rather than ceramic core but very few state a flow figure or even a power rating and most have a maximum diameter in and out of 3inches with the odd one at 3 1/2 inches. Those that do give a power rating seem to max out at 300kw. This would be enough for most street applications but I am sure that as these regs have been in place in Australia for a lot longer than in NZ and there are quite a few street cars with more than 300kw you must have come up with some solutions or does everyone just replace the cat with a straight pipe? Are there cats bigger than 3 1/2 inches or do you have to run two pipes and two cats to be legal? Would be interested to hear if there are any single cat solutions for big power applications!
  11. Read the Rb25DET turbo upgrade thread above and all will be revealed. 270 -300kw is doable - key to not killing engine is tuner.
  12. I often can't find posts or threads using the search function even though I know they exist. I sometimes have better luck just googling the question and often getting directed to the SAU item. Not wishing to knock the SAU forum in general - it is a great resource.
  13. Any quality atf - pref synthetic - you can use it for the attessa, auto, and power steering although Nissan will tell you to buy their $$$$ products.
  14. Yes you will likely break some studs. Get 4 new ones. Yes you will need to tune the engine to run 16psi. There are PFCs coming up you just need to look harder. Alternatively you can get a Z32 ecu and Nistune it.
  15. You must be kidding! My RS4 with an RB25DET made over 200awkw with stock injectors. Anyway don't bother with the fpr - get some better injectors and an aftermarket ecu for a start.
  16. OK including postage (in fact its nearly all postage just clearing the decks) it would be NZ$40 If you want it please supply a delivery address and PM me an email address to which I can send a Paypal bill and I iwill clean it up and post it. If you don't want it that's cool.
  17. I would have said Link but didn't want you to think I was just saying that because I have one. If your mechanic can install it, great. I have heard there are no good tuners up your way - you might have to take a trip to Sydney ( if conditions allow) to get it installed and/or tuned!
  18. Humble apologies - didn't make it yesterday - will do today!
  19. Don't worry what your mechanic thinks ask the best tuner in town what he prefers to use.
  20. Small difference in offset should be OK. Was anything done about the ecu when the +T was done? e.g. ecu from turbo car? If not what are you planning - some kind of pigyback unit?
  21. I have one but I'm in Auckland. I'll get a price for postage tomorrow and if its in your budget send me an email address and I'll send you a photo to make sure its what you want.
  22. Pull it out and spray it the colour of your choice.
  23. read carefully "other things sourced from States"
  24. I think there's two or three around. Here's one: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/226938-lpg-stagea-rs4-series-2/page__hl__lpg+stagea
