  1. If you're buying second hand injectors of unknown origin get them tested (and cleaned if necessary). I bought a set and they varied by 10% - couldn't use them. I would tend to buying new.
  2. Quite a bit of work - you'll have to modify the sump for 2wd and the g/box to get rid of the transfer case. Can you not sell them (sell the g/box in the Stagea forum!) and just buy an RB25DET?
  3. If you are only going to run one fuel pump you will need something better than a Walbro (and directly wire it for full battery voltage whatever pump you get). Forget the pod just use the standard airbox with a highflow filter unless you're keen to build a shield around the pod. Change your brake fluid to something like Motul RBF600. You can weld a mount for an external w/g to the ex housing of the turbo. I have no experience of NOS but it sounds like overkill on an unopened engine at 300kw.
  4. I just get a black spray can and paint the i/c (just the front face) and piping black.
  5. R32 GTR 4.1:1 R34 3.545:1
  6. As in Nistune chip and tune? Yes
  7. If you want to Nistune it you'll need a Z32 ecu.
  8. How much power are you looking for? I have bought a Sinco Customs manifold similar to the 6Boost and looking at the work that has gone into it even though I can gas and electric weld I wouldn't even think of trying to make one. Stocker is good for 300kw or a bit more at a pinch. No need to make provision for external w/g as you can run it off the exhaust housing of the turbo when you get around to it.
  9. E85 is not available at the pumps in NZ and very expensive to get. Note OP has a supply of toluene available at a good price. Petrol is not very good for you either - no-one is planning to drink the stuff. Surely there are some old racers out there ( and we are talking 5 -10 years ago) who can advise of any downside to Toluene as a fuel?
  10. Toluene used to be very popular for making racing fuels with mixes of between 10 -30% which gave an increase in RON of about 3. It is lead free and doesn't stuff O2 sensors. It will def make your car go faster if properly tuned. I don't know if there are any longterm downsides. As to toxicity - petrol and petrol fumes already contain aromatics and are bad for your health so in all cases avoid the fumes and getting it on your skin.
  11. Just keep turning up the boost until you hit R&R (which is designed to protect your engine anyway) and then back it off a little until the R&R goes away. And make a note to yourself if you want any power mods you are going to have to get a chipped ecu or an aftermarket one such as Link/Vipec or PFC.
  12. Get one you won't regret it.
  13. My Greddy copy was NZ$350. ( http://www.trademe.c...n-345171267.htm Home made versions are $200 -$300 - why would you bother? Here's a how to make the simplest version: http://www.skylineowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=70143&highlight=diy+plenum
  14. My previous S1 had an aerial behind the mirror - I thought it was for the remote for the a/market stereo!
  15. When to use synchro: pulling your boat out of the water, pulling a horsefloat (or race car trailer) out of a paddock, when your car's snowed in at the skifield...
  16. According to the turbo instructions the fitting of the water lines should facilitate water continuing to circulate through the turbo after the engine is turned off (brain fade - by means of the principle of hot water rising - can't think of the word for it at the moment) if that helps!
  17. You have to get someone like Toshi or Dr Drift to make you a new chip. Better still get a Nistune.
  18. Wheel alignment specs. You won't be able to get as much castor as me without a/market arms so just get as much as possible on left and then 1/4 deg less on right. Wheel alignment specs.xls

  20. Buy the nistune chipped ecu from KJB-R33. It will almost certainly work and if by some chance it doesn't you could always on sell it - its only the price of the Nistune chip anyway you could always take that out and it would be worth the price.
  21. I've been around almost as long as 66yoHugh but I don't pretend to know everything (or anything if you like). I don't like stretched tyres or noisy bovs but I am quite happy for other people to. Its not the disagreement that's disagreeable its the unnecessary abuse -- I thought that was what Sylvia forums were for! Peace and Love ...Bob
  22. When you say creep you don't say how hot its getting . Is there a real problem?
  23. Ecu talk is great - you can plug it into your laptop or get a little lcd display to sit on your dash.
  24. You should have looked into the availability and price of tyres before you bought the rims. Still not too late to sell them and buy some more appropriate to your needs and budget.
