  1. Thinking of making my own to take 2 full sized panel filters fed by the snorkel and another inlet at the front fed through the spare intercooler hose hole.
  2. Depends on what kind of cooler it is. With some designs it will not fill properly from the bottom.. If you turn it on its side and have entry at the bottom that will be ok or have the inlet and outlet at the top.
  3. Used to happen to my RB25DET at only 7000 rev/min max. It is a known issue. I don't know why there are so many different answers. One theory is that pressure builds up in the sump preventing oil from returning. In any case restrictors to the supply and extra drainage seems to be necessary.
  4. Disable it you don't need it.
  5. When you say rebuilt did you get new pistons? A few people have had problems with the pistons supplied for neo engines and ended up with very high compression ratios suggesting that the pistons were not really suitable.
  6. You've led a very sheltered life.
  7. RB30 will give you heaps of low end grunt esp off boost c/w 25
  8. If its the sensor with the indicator then it fires the airbags (and pretensions the belts). Mine turned to red after my smash. Very definitely necessary.
  9. Why are you posting in the RB30 section? Read the Rb25DET turbo upgrades to see what people do to make more power. If your car is stock it can't really be tuned but see if you can find a local member to take it for a test drive to see if there are any obvious faults that need urgent attention.
  10. Can you feel a difference in the lines going into the cooler and coming out? If the line coming out is cooler then the radiator is doing its job. According to Earls you should filter the oil before it goes through the cooler. Will try to upload diagram.
  11. You may be able to shift the power band a little with an adjustable exhaust cam gear (as well as first enabling vct).
  12. All R32, 33, 5sp 34 and Stagea manual boxes use gear oil. Only R34 GTR 6 speed Getrag boxes use trans fluid.
  13. There's an ARC smic for sale in the Stagea parts section. This is great option for an easy upgrade for an S1 ior S2 Stagea using stock mounting position and hoses! I was looking for one when I had my GCG highflow - would have been good for 240kw at least (but now with GT3540 and RB30 gone to HDI fmic),
  14. What piggy back ecu? Nistune fitted and tuned for around $1,000 is fine on an auto.
  15. Yes - have a very heavy duty clutch. Not a problem on the road or track but can be a pain in the Auckland traffic as car is my daily driver. However am managaing without power assistance!!
  16. Google is your friend. Here is an English language manual: http://justskylines.com/knowledgebase/assets/PROFEC_B_SPEC2.pdf
  17. Bluebird one I believe will do
  18. Recess for clutch does that mean you have power booster on clutch pedal? I have an R33GTR clutch pedal on my RS4T but no room for the power booster Yes get an RS 260 if they are not too dear - worth it for the better brakes, stronger rear end and engine is easy to get a reasonable power increase. Get a Nistune chip, better dumps (don't know what exhaust they have but look at that) steel wheels for turboand a good ebc and wind the boost up. Stock they are a bit of a slug.
  19. Moral of the story is don't ring transport and if you get asked (unlikely) just say it came like that from Japan and is stock on that model of Stagea.
  20. If you look on the Japanese sites there is quite a bit of Stagea specific stuff comes up.
  21. Get it rebuilt - it will need balancing. Good work getting it out in 2 hrs.
  22. Depends what kit you are talking about. Shocks and springs, no.
  23. Thanks for that PDF - simple when you know how...PITA when you don't!
  24. Piant Paint code is on the plate on the bulkhead. Pearl white may be B2F5
  25. Talked to the Link factory in regards to high revving RB26s and they say they reccommend an alternative triggering system. Doesn't apply to me as my RB30 won't be going over 6800 so I don't know what people are doing but there are two or three different approaches. I read about a year or so ago that Unigroup had such an alterrnative triggering system?
