  1. Is he still alive?
  2. Ummm... if my car was on fire, I would not keep driving with my seatbelt on, but stop the car and undo my seatbelt. Just personal opinion though
  3. Can you mount it under the front of your drivers seat?
  4. ROFL! No, I think his budget would suit secondhand re-treaded chinese-branded tyres. Seriously, I think The Tyre Factory are probably the cheapest.
  5. Oh yeah, I forgot a point. Usually the expensive R34 GTRs are highly modified, as dezz mentioned. So you still more bang-for-you-buck than Euro rivals. But that's not your motivation for getting Euro cars, though, is it matty1989? Oh sorry, I just realised from your username that you must be about 19. I guess getting laid as your number 1 aim is life is not too anachronistic then.
  6. Well, I must admit I don't read through the entirety of multipage year-old threads when people dig them up. The value of something isn't determined by how much people are willing to sell it for (eg., the guy trying to peddle the crap $100k number plate on eBay), it's by how much people are willing to pay for it. Sure there are 100k R34 GTRs, but they won't sell when there are 40-50k R34 GTRs. So I would like you to compare the cheapest 40-50k Euro rival to the performance and reliability of an R34 GTR. And I agree with you, a stock R34 GTR will be blown away by that V12 twin turbo Merc which costs 10X more eg., $440k... your point? Seriously, if getting chicks is the main factor dictating your car choice, then you should buy a Ferrari replica for a 1/10th of the cost. It's fake, performs crap, and you'll have no respect from any guy, but the chicks you'll try to pick up with it won't know
  7. Lol, neither do I, but it would be cool if it were true.
  8. If it was a twenty year old Celica it stands for what it is... FR TRIP. eg. having a TRIP in a Front engine Rear wheel car. If it was a newer eg., AWD/FF Celica with a cannon exhaust, then you might be right.
  9. How often do you see old maseratis on the road full stop? There's a reason for that. Some of them are probably now recycled sheet metal lol.
  10. If you braked suddenly or crashed, wouldn't that just fly off and make a crater in the back of your skull?
  11. umm... reliability .... and a car which would actually do well at the track?
  12. Wow... a reply from the ancient annals of SAU-VIC. Yeah I ended up buying my R34 GTR from Melbourne... about 10 months ago lol. Umm... I wouldn't say most. Out of the 15-20 I test drove when I was looking (ie., all of the Vic ones for sale at that point), only 1 had been graced by the touch of the Master. A lot of these are FOB or interstate rides. Although, I have heard that some of the NSW ones, especially from some specific traders have had quite... crash-intensive histories, explaining the unbelievabe low-mid 40k asking price. Well NZ is likely the most southern country which has Skylines, and we all know that's where Reece McGregor's skyline was born, bred and broke the world 1/4 mile skyline/GTR record.
  13. Wow..... GTR ute. That would be one awesome ride for a tradie.
  14. Bad luck, sorry to hear. Usually in the modified car scene you really do get what you pay for. LOL.
  15. HMAS.33 - that is the best ever plate!
  16. Hi guys, this has been bugging me for a while. In my R34 GTR, I have a switch located down and right from the steering wheel, underneath the driver's side air-con vent (see pic). The red light flashes when my alarm activates. I have tried flicking the switch, without any noticeable difference, whether driving or not. I have asked this same question in the Vic forums, and no-one knows what it is, so I thought I'd get some interstate opinions. I really didn't know which forum to post this in, so I just picked the most popular one. Apologies if it's in the wrong place - mods please move if this is the case. Things it is NOT (I have personally tested these out): - Kill switch - 2WD/AWD switch - Low/hi turbo boost - Neon switch (I have never had those eyesores) - Airbag suspension - Anything alarm/immobiliser related - Fuel pump switch (stock fuel pump) - Cheat switch (flicks on stop lights to fake out chasers on the track) Thanks guys.
  17. Wow, what an ambitious project. Wish I had the patience for that. Love to see the results and vids. Good luck.
  18. SE-bound silver R34 4-door on St Kilda Rd, around 1730.
  19. icic Racepace just k/d
  20. Good stuff. Will be doing that.
  21. Sorry to hear that. Was it a large sum of money? Live and learn I guess. I definitely won't be doing the same.
  22. I'd be VERY interested to see your dyno, just to have a look at what kind of job they do with the -7s. If you want to know more, PM me for details on my experience with the tuning from that workshop.
  23. Wow guess foxes aren't like cats then.. can't land on their feet properly.
  24. Really? Who? How?
  25. Didn't we see this post before? I'm having deja vu.... but can't be bothered diggin it up.
