  1. http://www.theage.com.au/world/south-korea...90205-7yle.html I feel so sorry for her. Hope she passes before she dies, although she'll have to double her test score. Dementia sucks. Although I would have thought the houses in Sth Korea are sufficiently narrow that a scooter would be better.
  2. ROFL. Wow, that is such a dastardly evil invention! Would be great for those tailgating douchebags as well. I checked though - unfortunately it's not.
  3. Hey guys, just wondering whether it's actually illegal to have an aftermarket bonnet? Reading through VSI, it sounds like I can legally have Z-Tune bonnet (being of a type offered by the manufacturer for the vehicle as an option for that model or series). With a body kit, as long as the ground clearance is respected, I guess it is completely legal? I am aiming to get the Z-tune body kit. I heard something about fibreglass parts being illegal but CF being ok, but might be just a rumour. VSI8.pdf
  4. No sounds or icons light up when idling and flicking back on forth with the switch. I might try the cornering thing when it's raining, just to make sure So I guess the other R34 GTR owners don't have this switch? Maybe it's just a dummy switch installed for looks lol.
  5. Cool. Will be interesting to compare dynos and first impressions. Look forward to it.
  6. Thanks R31. I am not technically minded enough to fiddle with the hand controller for fear of screwing up the settings, so I will talk to the tuner about it later on when I get the AFMs. As a side note, as previously posted a long time ago, the boost gauge in my MFD occasionally doesn't work (ie., not showing any boost), although it drives the same. Could that be related? I might have to take you up on that offer during a random meet/cruise, although I'm afraid I'll pine for the SS's afterwards .
  7. Sorry, this thread is like 2 months old. My memory doesn't extend that far Yeah, that is good. I heard another safest car park from the cops is the one in Fed Square, as it has video cameras on every level. Other CBD ones eg., all the Wilson ones fall down in that respect. I had to learn the hard way. Don't leave valuables in cars!
  8. Lol flog lights. The compartment lid is for the moneybox... can't see wires in it. I checked and you're right about the red light. It would be awesome if I had a 2WD/AWD switch there without knowing it.... Wax On, Wax Off, Drift On, Drift Off.
  9. Lol I tried it and it doesn't actually seem to do much when the car is stationary. Not really game enough to fiddle with it during driving, in case it kills power or locks the steering or something bizarre.
  10. Nice one! Thanks. Is this likely to be an ongoing thing?
  11. Full aircon, spirited driving for about 1 hour. Oil max: 90 Water max: 92
  12. I think if you have a huge body kit and draw attention to yourself, the custom plates would be just more noticeable than usual plates. Good to hear on a stock-looking car that cops don't pay more attention. Both equally suitable
  13. Hi guys, this has been bugging me for a while. Any idea what the switch does or what the red light is? The switch is located down and right from the steering wheel, underneath the driver's side air-con vent. Thanks guys.
  14. Glad to hear you got your money back, although it's a huge personal blow to lose your car. Are you getting another skyline? Why level 6?

    Bp Ultimate

Really? I always heard that BP ultimate was the best, and the overwhelming majority of Jap car drivers seem to use it in preference. Considering they're all similar price, I just stuck with it because it would have a lower probability than the others of being an inferior fuel, as well as being the most populous service station around my area. Don't know what it's worth, but certainly BP ultimate has a lot more info on the website vs the pathetic one paragraph descriptions of Vortex/V-Power/Synergy 8000, which all seem to have been written by the same guy. Most likely BP has better web designers/marketing managers, but it doesn't hurt. I did here something about all of them coming from the same refinery, but I guess the difference is the additives they put in?

    Hey

    Welcome
  17. Hi, yeah standard engine throughout. -5s can go to 340+rwkw, but I think the awkw figure would be lower. I also wanted a very conservative tune and the Nismo AFMs are yet to go in.
  18. Hi, thanks for the opinion. I told him reliability was the first concern, so I wanted a very conservative tune. Second concern was response, and top-end power was of back-seat importance. Yeah, I know the first tuner did a pretty lousy job. I just blanked-out the workshop's name before R31 gets on my case for spreading possible libel . I figured if I am going to re-tune the powerFC, boost controller and cam gears, might as well get a bigger turbo and injectors at the same time. Sorry, not sure what AFR it is running at the moment. How do I find that out? Guess it will change anyway when the AFms go in?
  19. Yeah, I feel for the poor little possums. Although sometimes leaving water outside just invites mozzies to come and spawn in there... disturbing.

    Bp Ultimate

Hahaha, sorry should have been more specific. Found out both BP stations near my house have run out of BP ultimate - my usual fuel. Still the case today. So if there is no BP ultimate, what would people recommend as the next best 98? Did a search, but didn't turn up anything.
  21. Nice red R34 GT-T in Melbourne Rd, Newport this arvo, number plate SAM-***. LOL
  22. Cool idea. Lol..
  23. Have a look at my new thread with my dyno just above. There are others who have posted similar threads. I just got my GTR back with -5's. Reasonably happy with them. Not much steam below 3.5-4k, but a pure wall of speed from then until redline. Never drove -7s or -9s, so can't compare. I guess it really depends on your driving style and where in the rev range you usually are. -7 and -9s appear to come on slightly earlier but lose a bit of puff at the top end, so should be more fun in city driving where you hardly go above 60 km/h.
  24. Got the R34 GTR back from the local tuner's, who happily has an AWD dyno. Stock engine. Pre-existing mods - Apexi PowerFC and boost control unit (re-tuned this time) - HKS adj cam gears (re-adjusted for more initial response this time, was too retarded before ) - HKS split and dump pipes - HKS hi-power catback exhaust - Apexi pod filters Was making 269 rwkw (at high boost apparently) from previous tuner when the car wasn't mine - see Dyno 1. New mods which just went in: - Garrett 2860-5 turbos (upgraded from stock turbos) - PWR 700cc injectors (upgraded from stock injectors) - Awaiting pair of Nismo AFMs (probably good for another 10awkw, says the tuner). Currently making 290 awkw, which I guess is around 320 rwkw - see Dyno 2. Unfortunately, it is hard to compare the dynos as one is RW and the other AW, and there is no RPM on the x-axis of Dyno 1. Personally, I feel the response is similar to before, maybe slightly laggier, but the mid-top end is a lot stronger. Let me know what you guys think of the tune. By the way, I feel as if the idle is not as smooth as before - the rpms swing between 750-1000 rpm. Is that normal? Thanks guys, greatly appreciated.

Hey guys, do you know where I can find it? Almost had to push my car home when I found out at my local BP. Had to fill up with Vortex... ewww
