  1. It weighs over 1920kg, is a "luxury all-wheel drive" cruiser. Not a hardcore performance car. I asked the engineers yesterday (trade day) about it and asked if it was STi/Evo/Skyline fighter and they said no,, it's aimed at Audi RS6 or Falcon GT. And why are all commodore drivers wankers? Just because their automotive needs are different to yours you use childish insults? I'd rather be a wanker than a narrow-minded bigot
  2. Advice? Like slow down? Like that 4-wheel drive won't prevent you losing traction? It's good but not the duck's nuts. It sounds like you need to get some more experience learning the car before you go out and imitate Skaifey. Harsh but the truth. Try an advanced driver's course or skid-pan day. Invaluable knowledge will be gained by you... As for repairs, you could be up for a coupla grand (at absolute most, incl towing fees) to correct it all. Swaybar is cheap but to fix a wishbone you'll need to dismantle a fair bit in the front end. Losta labour there bubba. You might also need to get a chassis engineer to check you haven't bent/twisted the chassis. If you did, you could be looking at a write-off...
  3. Shrub32, the rest of that interview (not published on that web site) has Leone Daphne saying that "I can't see where it would fit into our price range [above or below 350Z], we wouldn't sell the required numbers and even if we could, the cost would be prohibitive." I don't like your chances. It's rumoured the new (G36???) Skyline four-door will be sold worldwide. If it was, we'd get either British or US-spec interior with Jap-spec engine and unique suspension. Daphne is hot for the up-coming Nissan GT-R (it's no longer badged Skyline) but doesn't yet know how much it will go for. The good word around the industry is that it will be more than $100,000 (remember it's Nissan's "Halo" car to sit above all others.)
  4. Watch out for car-jackings. A fellow workmate's brother was car-jacked in Ryde last week. His ride? A grey R33 GT-R with 18s.
  5. Buy a flying carpet. It'd be like, "Hey, here comes Abdulla...."
  6. I'd like to see a full showdown between Skyline and *insert V8 of choice here*. Here are the challenges: Drag Race (3 passes) Circuit Race (5-8 laps) Dyno run (3 passes each) Shopping run (take your wife/girl shopping and load up the boot) Designated Driver run (take your mates out for a night on the town) Boat Tow (erm, do i really need to explain this one?) Push Home (after both cars f^&k themselves, the first one to be pushed home wins). Any takers? LOL!
  7. Go the Mini Cooper S with the Works kit on it. Much, much faster than a normal Cooper. It'll show the Hondas and most Nissans the quick way around a tight race track.
  8. The Wheels and Motor timing equipment is SLOW if anything. Like what Rob said, they're also carrying a full tank of fuel and a passenger plus all the Correvit/satalite gear.] From my own experience, High 13s if he can drive, mid 14s if he can't. Any slower than that and there's something wrong.
  9. I'd by a Nismo March, or a Maxima. True sporting performance. LOL
  10. Fooli sik, bro! Moit, you need to be puttin da fluffy dice on da schmick Shkyline, hey! Youse will be pullin awl da chickies! :bahaha:
  11. V8 GT-R? Hmmm, more American wishful thinking? Serveral sources close to Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn have been quoted as confirming the Yanks would get a stroked version of the Infiniti Q45 bent-eight while other markets get TT V6... Speed mag had a test of the HKS TT G35 Coupe in the latest issue. Apparently it uses Garrett turbos and looks very OEM, AND it apparently also had Nissan stamps on some of the custom pipe and intercoolers
  12. Guilty, do you know what Pinto (as in Ford Pinto) means in regional Mexican? Hey Lozza, sorry I couldn't make it out to Terrigal last night! Work ran late and the traffic on the freeway was shiteful!
  13. It's probably gunna look like a beastie G35. That's what the smart money's on...
  14. full license since Mar 2001. Lost 5 points in one go in Jan 03 (under taking and 25km/h over limit). Never been pulled over in any of my own cars, it's the cars i get from work that cause me trouble... Oh, and my lead foot!
  15. Hang on.. Something's very, very wrong with this thread... No-one's posted any mindless abuse, complete with bad spelling. This CAN'T be a versus thread! IMHO, my money's on the thread to win...
  16. LOL @ Duncan. I say go whoever wins!
  17. I think Skyline vs a kid in a wheelchair My cousin is in one and I'm sure he'd be up for it. We'd just have to let him charge his batteries first. So who's man enough to put your worked GT-R against a 16 yr-old in an electric 'chair
  18. The new (MY04) GT2 Porsche is even more powerful, but it's the torque that i love: 3.6L TT with 700Nm! The "Red Rose" spec TVR Cerbera has more than 328kW, try 360kW from a 4.5L DOHC-per bank V8. Then there's the T440R racers with 344kW/470Nm from an NA 4.4L 6-cyl. There's the gold Meguiar's TVR Cerbera show car in SPEED 009 (on sale now) with 414kW from its 4.2L V8 as well... Also, the Gen IIIs are seriously detuned. By how much? Well, the "unlimited-edition" LeMans C5R Corvettes that were at SEMA a couple of years back have stroked to 7L, run twin turbos and put out over 1300hp.
  19. The whole IRS/wheel package/steering set-up is different. It's a totally different feel. I've had a steer in an XT on a skid pan with the base handling, tyres, steering, no lsd and traction control switched off. Yee haar. The XT is sooo different to the XR which is a different feel to the R34 again. As for Porka vs Merc. It'd be down to the drivers on the other 364 days of the year. But the Merc's quicker off the mark (750Nm does that!). The Ford was absent at this battle, although we DID pass an ED XR6 on the way to the track...
  20. Erm, yes they are allowed for road use. Just not here, although that's nothing new (BMW Z8 Chev Corvette, etc etc???) By the way, the fastest car on the road is the Dauer 962 Le Mans Porsche. it is a road-legal 962 LeMans-spec Porsche racer that can hit over 400km/h and does 0-100km/h in 2.8-secs. It has leather interior with full sound system, no ABS/Traction Control and it's rear-wheel drive. Oh, and it's also radar-proof! Check it out on www.962lm.com
  21. No Rezz, he would be speaking through broken teeth so it'd sound like, "We'll zho on! shange zhe fushing tyshers"
  22. It was another ATCC driver with the initials CMcC. He's driven quiet a few Porsches and took the GTP championship and Porsche Supercup back in 1994/95 in a Porka... He contributes to magazine, whose editor drove an XR6 in Targa Tassie. Woo hoo! Tied that one together as well! LOL Now we shall let it rest...
  23. Actually, TVR reckon their engines aren't suited to turbocharging or supercharging (i had to speak to them about some of their products). They were saying you can have too much power in a lightweight car, especially with the accelerative characteristics of a Big-Ass Single Turbo (BAST - that's a technical term for you newbies). The T440R is highly tuned, but not tuned to its max according to an engineer called Berkcroft (that's his surname). They were saying a 4.3L super-tune unit could crack almost 350kW, from an NA six cyl!
  24. I think the Speed12 racer's already gone there Roy. Also try the TVR "Black Cat" T440R. It's lighter than the Cerbera (kerb weight of 950kg) with a psycho 4L six (328kW, 460Nm). and it's NA. Don't ask me how they make those numbers, i just know they do. Currently, there are 5 in the world.
