  1. and yet, i'm guessing all that was less than a set of OEM pads and rotors
  2. Anyone heard about the Sydney boat? has it landed etc?
  3. Been a bit of rain lately. So what size tyres did you end up running?
  4. Yes the wheels and tyres looked great actually. Was there any consensus on the lost time? tyres?
  5. There is a good video of the test track around somewhere. I cant see it being more than 10km for 3 laps or so.
  6. Well i bit the bullet today and purchased a set of 18x10 Enkei GTC-01's with 295/35/18 RE55's (in SR compound) for my R35. These are about 26.1" tall - so should be ok (i am hoping!). Plus i can swap these front the back and left to right (I dont care about the directional thing with these tyres really). All up the cost is reasonable, wheels + tyres together are about $1k less than a new set of TE37 rims alone. Hopefully running 295's front and back will help correct some of the understeer too.
  7. I've been quoted $2.1k - but yeah it really depends on so many factors.
  8. Thanks for the info Gibbo. FWIW, i contacted Just Car Insurance and they said they flat out CANNOT cover the R35 due to the value of the car. What's the deal with that?
  9. wow, sounds a tad overzealous! interesting though. Goodluck getting people to accept that sort of thing. Personally i think reality will set in soon enough, when that $45k hoist is collecting dust.
  10. The more info the better yes please Question to ponder: how many track days per year would you say the average ADM R35 owner will do? Are propspective owners mostly track day junkies? or is it once or twice a year, or practically never? Personally i think they are mostly enthusiasts, at least with the initial batches. I just dont see such people paying excessive prices for servicing or parts.
  11. The Nittos on the red 35 dont look that bad because they are a tall tyre (275/40's) at about 26.6" whereas the stocker wheels/tyres are about 28" - a set of 285/30/18's (more common, say RE55) would be only 24.7" tall in comparison, which i am guessing is too short.
  12. Shannons have given me a quote for an ADM R35. It's a good price too, considering the value covered. They know about the car and seem set up to quote for it now. If you have a CAMS license, it's even cheaper.
  13. My $0.02: anyone who is going to regularly track this car will not be able to service it through Nissan. Warranty? what warranty. To be frank i don't think many cars which are routinely flogged around a race track are serviced by a new car dealership/service depts either.. I could be wrong, maybe it's different in the supercar world, i dunno. They either do the work themselves or take it to a trusted shop, or a bit of both. Maybe if you do one or two track days a year, then maybe you can deal with the dealership workshop, maybe.. The ambiguous thing with this car is the fact that Nissan recognise this as a part-time track car, so they have attempted to cater for it in the warranty/agreements/servicing etc., spooking people no end. With many other cars it's just not a question that is asserted. Sometimes that is better, don't ask / don't tell. Most people signed up without knowing any of this. I am over it, i dont see any way for me to legitimately retain warranty. I don't care anyway, why would i pay $10k for inappropriate rotors/pads if i am serious about track fun? You just wouldnt. Just pray the box or motor doesnt blow up..
  14. yes correct, USD. And that was a special price i think. Normally they are north of $400. I've been shopping around for aussie dealers/prices, and they are about $600~$800 each here.
  15. they certainly do look goofy on the 18's but i reckon the rubber available in 18's (say RE55 or the dunlops) is ultimately going to be quicker than the R888's
  16. Not sure about the next round. It's at least a couple of weeks until delivery, probably more. So looking a bit iffy
  17. Well it seems Enkei 18" GTC-01's clear the R35 brakes, these rims in 18x10" only come in 22mm offset, which apparently is all good. http://www.nagtroc.org/forums/index.php?sh...c=29400&hl= These rims are relatively cheap in the USA (about $350 each) Anyone know of a good dealer to source Enkei's in Australia? Or else if anyone has a set of GTC-01's in 18x10" they want to sell, let me know
  18. I understand where you are coming from and i know all the history. I've organised several of these days before including a few where SAU members have been invited and attended. Please, let's not use this as a platform to air old wounds yet again, it will just spoil the day and make matters difficult for those who have to deal with track management. I am over the whole 10.99 thing. Having said all that, places are running out, with about 37 taken in 48 hours. If anyone is interested please let me know asap.
  19. 1. If you run quicker then 12.0 seconds you need an ANDRA license. 2. You can't run quicker than 10.99 or quicker, regardless So.. you can make passes all day long over 10.99ET, no problem The basic constraint is you cannot run 10.99 or quicker.
