  1. I have been told that (from a dealer/service perspective) that the fluid needs to be replaced if it has exceeded 130*c Best call and ask your dealer/service people though
  2. These might help: Console (right-click save-as, PDF) Instrument Panel (right-click save-as, PDF) Let me know if you need anything else
  3. Th GPS says i was doing up to 220km/hr on the straight there so i guess no speed limiter! The tyres are great, they take a little over a lap to warm up properly though, so maybe not the best for sprints i dunno (sprints are less than 1 lap warm up and 3 flying laps). I dont mind the flappy paddles as they are really, reminds me to brake and gear up/down without an extreme angle on the tiller.
  4. hazard a guess there will be at least two in front of me at Wakefield
  5. Thanks for the Pic!
  6. I am still getting used to the AWD thing (coming from a monaro!) so it's still a bit strange to me, but it seems brutally competent thus far. And I am sure a bunch of JDM's have be thrashed around a track here, in fact i know they have (quicker than me, which isnt too hard, got my L plates on atm)
  7. white looks sensational, the only issue i have with white - it makes the car look even BIGGER
  8. I took the R35 out to its first supersprint event today - round #2 of the NSW Championship at Oran Park GP. It was a shitter of a day, with rain coming and going all day. My R35 is stock EXCEPT for a set of 18" RE55's (which cost HALF the price of the OEM 20's mind you ) Given it was my second day at the track with this car i'm still learning how to make it go fast; but the supersprint format doesnt really give you a lot of track time... I was at the track for 8 hours and had about 15 laps in total. But it was a good day nonetheless, catching up with everyone, and some track time in between the drizzle. I managed to get some good clean laps in, and the car didnt miss a beat! I am really starting to love this car as i push it harder around a track. It just soaks it all up! Observations with the car: Transmission temps were fine - given it was only 3 hot laps per session i didnt see more than about 110*c which is quite manageable really. So quite ok for supersprints. The seats have a great suede finish which keeps you well planted, i dont know if i am going to even bother with the harness on this car. Stocker brakes held up great, better than expected. Although i expect the cross drilled rotors to eventually crack (badly). Rotors still look quite ok atm however (i did a practice day at OPGP on thursday, so in total i've probably done 40-50 hard laps, i think i've used about 40% of the OEM pads thus far. Results: I ended up with a PB of 1:17.3 for 3rd outight, breaking the type 2 and class 2D lap records along the way (finished first in tyre and class obviously) So how good is this car? It's a GREAT package, but i am starting to think how much better will it be with some more focused track mods? Natsoft results: http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results....04/2009.ORGP.S1 If any of you are considering supersprints, send me a PM and i will help you get started! We're off to Wakefield in a few weeks, whohoo!
  9. Great to see they have backed it up. But given all the past controversy, why didnt they run the stock wheels?
  10. To answer my own question, the limitation is in the camber adjustment bolt itself. As John D says, there isnt much more in it than 1.6*, which seems a tad tame IMO. Still, there you go.
  11. thanks for that. With respect to max camber, is that due to a limitation of the camber bolt/adjustment or the wheel/tyre itself? I am running +22mm offset track wheels on the front (they stick out a bit) and it seems there is about 20mm clearance remaining on the inside (between the wheel/trye and suspension) so nil issues with clearance there, if you know what i mean.
  12. Has anyone adjusted the front camber on their R35 themselves? I've done it before (trackside) on other cars and it was quite trivial. Sometimes suspension gets out of spec, gets knocked around hard on the track and moves, or you have wide tyres rubbing on struts etc., so i want to know how it's done just in case. I am yet to get under the car and see but thought i would ask if anyone here has done it themselves, if there are any tips and/or tricks. cheers
  13. The Cobb AccessPORT is a flash tuner, it will rewrite the factory calibrations to give you enhanced power. It reflashes the factory computer. I dont think the aussie version is quite ready yet though, or at least the o/s versions havent been tested on ADM cars.
  14. Yes Nissan can do a finance lease. I dont know i it's through Nissan exactly, but the finance manager in any dealership shoul dbe able to help you out. If you have excel, try this formula: =PMT(0.06/12,36,-150000,150000*0.4) 0.06 = the interest rate 36 = the number of payments (months) -150000 = the amount financed 150000*0.4 = residual It should give you a good estimate on the monthly payments (obviously plug in your numbers as appropriate)
  15. I had a blast, the R35 is a bit different to my monaro..... i managed a 1:17.5 so i am pretty happy with that.
  16. Thanks Martin. I have your oil sitting in the workshop ready to go in. So anyway 120* is a big no no? I can get over 90* just in CBD traffic.
  17. I should add, i've been told (by the dealer) the stocker tyres are $1200 for fronts and $1300 for rears. Ouch! The RE55's above are HALF that cost.
  18. I took my R35 out to Oran Park today, i was keeping a close eye on the trans oil temps. As has been discussed on threads hereabouts, the temps got to 120*c only after a few laps. My dealer told me the other day "you'll never get to 120* don't worry" (when discussing the whole warranty thing in relation to track days). - obviously they didnt push the car on their recent drive days Anyway, how hot is too hot? and when should we be looking to replace the oil? If i were to follow the dealer requirement, i would be changing the oil tomorrow costing the best part of $2k, which is ridiculous of course. Thoughts?
  19. Hey guys I took my R35 out to Oran Park today, and tried out the Enkei's + RE55's Net result for me is: the RE55's were about 2.5 seconds faster than the stocker Bridgestones (whch i didnt find too confidence inspiring to be honest). The RE55's were AWESOME. Yes it looks goofy, but i will take the 2.5 seconds and stick with goofy
  20. I've seen the AP replacement rotors for around $850AU each - pads, it's really variable depending on what you want.
  21. I think it's about tractability within the confines of the street. I drove mine to work the other day (through Sydney CBD) suffice to say the next day i took another car.... some cars you can happily wind the motor out (on the street) at least to some enjoyable degree - it puts a grin on your face. You just can't do that with the GTR (not where i live anyway). Yes it's totally capable as a "daily" but you'll often feel like there is a carrot being dangled in front of your face - a carrot that you just can't have.
  22. OPGP and yes, i have the GPS/Driftbox timer
  23. Personally, i wouldnt buy an R35 as a 99.9% daily driver. You just can't use it to any degree of the potential on the street. The amount of satisfaction, enjoyment and results (lap times) you would get out of the R35 on the circuit will however far eclipse anything for the money i reckon, which is why i bought one. To be frank, i think you should keep the beemer. Just IMHO; i'm sure others will have different opinions. Goodluck with your dilemma
  24. I have the best part of 1000km on mine, and off to the track tomorrow
  25. is there any way of retrofitting the CF card / slot? I wonder if the wiring harness is set up for it already
