  1. Chris, I know supplier of GSM tracking systems if you need a solution, bloody awesome price for the units as well, have one in my GTR at the moment B.
  2. I have a unit coming soon that I am going to trial in my GTR, gives you tracking via GPS, contact via GSM (2g), and gives you the ability to control aspects of the car, such as locks, ignition, etc. Will be pretty cheap, but I want to tinker with it before I go advertising it. B.
  3. You have confirmed you have leaking injectors, and then you say you have poor fuel econemy, I am going to sound a little smart-arse here, but I would put some of that poor fuel econemy to the fuelt hat is leaking out of the engine block and vanishing down the side of the block, instead of into the cylinders for combustion. Make sense? B.
  4. For Japanese imports, you can purchase an FM Expander from Jaycar, ebay, DSE, Tandy, etc and this will increase the FM frequency by +10 and +20mhz, so the head unit's 76.9mhz will become 96.9 mhz and in Sydney will then pick up Nova96.9FM, etc. If you have already replaced the headunit with an Australian unit and still having troubles picking up the headunit, there might be an antenna remote wire on the factory wiring loom which you need to connect your antenna wire to, and this will activate the car's stock FM amplifier module which could help you out. Personally, I have never had good quality FM signal through a Japanese head unit and FM Expander because there is to many signals conflicting, but then I live in the Willoughby area with SBS and Channel 9 and ABC Bradcasting towers in close proximity to me as well. B.
  5. I had an issue in my 180sx as well, was a pinched 0-ring, took the injectors out, replaced all the 0-rings and had the injectors ultrasonically cleaned while out of the car. Turns out, my injectors where so far gone that 3 of the 4 where stock open to some degree, and the 4th was spraying all over the place. Cleaned the injectors, re-fitted them with new o-rings. The difference was amazing, and something else that I found was the injectors being stuck open mean that fuel was leaking into the cylinder when the engine was shut off, and if left overnight would eventually soak down into the sump and foul the oil as well, so I had seriously thin oil, and fuel leaking outside of the engine. Also, as Adam said, any track that is worth bothering about will spot the leaking injector patch and immediately turn the car around as a risk. Thanks, B.
  6. Sounds like a loose wire issue to me, I hated the clip-on wires that came with mine, and ensded up splicing up further from the loom and soldering and shrink wrapping the wires, they never came off, never came loose and did the job. B.
  7. My smash repairer has a front cut in, for panel work only, so the rest will be up for sale very shortly, I will speak with the guy and let you know what he's doing, and what he will have left over B.
  8. Which company do you work for??? Do you also do alarm systems? B.
  9. I regularly float around in Brisbane, my parents live in Deception Bay... Will be up again in October. I got myself an R32 GTR, sweet beast. Hope to maybe meet a few people next time I am up B.
  10. Yep, bike licence gone as well, it's touch, but them's the way the cookies are baked.... If it was P-plater bike licence, and open car licence, the only thing not linked is the BAC of the licences, so you can have 0.49 BAC on your car licence, but you cant drink at all if you plan to ride. Sorry to hear man, but the bus and train look like safest ways at the moment, but saing on fuel means modifications when the car is back B.
  11. Hmmm, sounds like they need a few more lines, another person, and a decent phone system.... B.
  12. Incorrect. I have had MANY incorrectly issued tickets, they simply cancel the incorrect ticket, and re-issue the infringement correctly. First I ever had was speeding at 7am in the morning when it was 7pm (was re-issued) I had a use mobile device while driving, issued at 7:50am, when I was infringed at 8:50pm (was re-issued) Got infringed for doing a burnout, car type was incorrect, (re-issued) was infringed for driving an 'unsafe vehicle', they spelt my name wrong (re-issued). The moral of the story is that they will null and void the original infringement, and re-issue you a new fine. The only thing complaining will do is extend the amount of time to pay before SDRO come in and start causing headaches. You want to avoid the State Debt Recovery Office, as they make mroe mistakes than you could believe is possible, and this alone will give you heart pulpatations. B.
  13. I lurk on a huge list of forums, lol. And your dead right, dont try to fix the remote if you dont have a fail-safe plan, that's just asking for trouble, and will put you into a bad situation. With my previous car, someone installed a cheap ebay POS alarm, and wired it in quite stupidly, so I had the car towed (became unstartable) to an auto electrician and set him to task to remove the mess and set the car back to stock. He did this, and then I went and got a proper alarm system installed in the car. B.
  14. Could be dried out Solder points inside the remote. B.
  15. You will have low brake pads, might look all meaty and full, but the inside pad will be metal on metal. Time for pads all around. B.
  16. Lol. **slowly speaking** "I am from Ca-na-da AYEEEE".
  17. 6 maybe 8 what?? Days, weeks, months, years?? B.
  18. Chris is right, knowbody that cares about their own car's security will release this sort of information. If they do release this, I am sure Moderators will remove the information and warn the users putting it up as well. As for finding this stuff out, get a Multi-meter and get to work looking for it yourself. B.
  19. Gad to hear that people have been caught, if they where caught and the cars recovered they where good, but not good enough. Hopefully you get the rest of stock back and the other cars as well, but in saying that, there would be massive amount of hiding going on at the moment with the other pricks, and at the end of the day there would be more involved for such a large heist, and you wont get all of the buggers. Hopefully you guys are back up and running and back to normal business operations shortly. Cheers, Brian.
  20. MY other question with this thread is at the start your asking about the system, but at the end, telling everyone you know all about it. If you have done all this research and know your shit (and trust that your information is factual from the people you have it from), then why bother asking the engineers and mechanics that HAVE worked on both systems in here. I love these people that come onto a forum to ask a question they think they already know the answer to, only to try and crush people when they reply with information that doesn't match your 'researched' info. B.
  21. Just drain and re-fill, no need to use water or detergents, etc (infact DO NOT use water or detergent). B.
  22. Do some more research, here is a hint as well. Not everyone that sounds clever on forums actually knows what they are dribbling sh1t on, some people might sound intellectual because they know the terminology, use long words with more than 4 syllables, and seem to have a high post count. Something else to remember, just because someone has a high post-count doesn't mean anything they have posted is worth reading, it just means they have been tapping away at the keyboard to long. Post count doesn't equal truth, fact, or quality. B.
  23. JDM cars have to follow some form of Design Requirements just like car manufacturers that make Aus Domestic Market vehicle have to follow ADR. For Japan, they are required to be speed limited to 180km/h, but there are quite a few examples shipping without this limit, although they ARE modified. I have a blitz ECU in my GTR, and on the dyno she pulled harder than a horny teen all the way to 234km/h in 4th gear, so 5th should get be to somewhere like 260 at redline (if there is no speed limit higher). B.
  24. Foam will make a difference, heck stuffing your doors with the neighbour's old clothes will make a difference, but the thing is you need to use more foam or thicker foam than you do the Dynamatting or dynamatt extreme. When I get some money together (repairing car + Wedding hurts funds), I will be dynomatting my doors, floors, backseat, boot, and even tossing as to taking the sound sheet off the bonnet, and layering it with dynamatt before putting the sound back on. On know it will make the car heavier (about 60kgs all up) but with the dynamatt in all those areas, the weight is evening distributed, will keep the cabin noise down, and also help with engine noise outside the car. B.
