sorry got another question. if you do stuff up the timing and hit a valve while turning crank "by hand", how do you rectify issue? do you unbolt tensioner and remove belt immediately to start over?

hi thanks for the guide. just to clarify when you turn the crank by hand clockwise for 2 revolutions and it all lines up, it basically means the engine is in TDC (top dead centre) right? therefore you can tighten everything, re-assemble and start engine with keys?

r33 gtr brakes would be brembos. series 2 DOES NOT have brembos. no revision on engine so emissions doesn't change. only an updated series 2 ECU a Bump in torque to 362 from 342 nm. other changes - Factory option of Pearl white/Bayside blue in coupe version.

tell us your build intentions and your driving habits first.

apart from engine mods, don't forget to focus on suspension, brakes and drivetrain. -Coil-overs / dampers -Bracing -1.5 or 2 way diff -6 piston brakes or overhaul factory brakes -Fatter rims with good tyres.

white smoke on rb26 usually means turbo seals. have a look in the coolant reservoir tank. can you smell oil? incorrect anti-freeze ratio can also cause white puffs of smoke. do full coolant flush from block and see how it goes from there. my gtr does it on WOT. no biggie.

quick question. is it considered illegal to DE+T in NSW? would i need an engineers certificate? what about emissions? thanks

To be honest, i'm looking for a semi-budget build for daily driver. i won't be getting massive power nor going to tracks. i will be doing much of the work myself in the backyard so labour cost will be saved. Question, would it be easier/cheaper for me to do a DE+T conversion? that way i don't have to worry about DIFF ratio/gearbox related issues. Thanks

Please don't mix up GTR and GTS appearance together. I'd agree the series 1 r33 gts isn't that spectacular with it's low duck wing and bad front end, not to mention the interior but r32 gts isn't far behind. r34 gtt in stock form isn't great either. narrow front fenders and boxy rear end. I'm sure a Series 3 R33 GTR in Midnight purple does not lose to a R32 OR R34. BTW, despite what many think, r33 gtr isn't the heaviest. R34 GTR V-spec weights 1560kg. 33 V-spec only weights 1540kg.

toffy thanks for the reply. yeah rb26 would be desirable but it's expensive to maintain whereas rb25 is cheap. yeah most likely i will buy a manual stagea half cut. diff ratio is an issue. just wondering though would it be easier and cheaper to convert the DE engine and making it a DET instead of doing a drivetrain conversion?

Hi all, As everybody knows R33 GTS-4 sedan never came out with a turbo version. I may be interested in transplanting a RB25DET into series 2 R33 GTS-4 manual sedan. i think this setup will be very practical for a daily driver. sort of best of both worlds. Could someone please fix any steps that's incorrect or missing. - RB25DET manual engine from STAGEA AWD - Stagea engine sump? - Stagea gearbox? - Stagea ECU? or does it needs after-market ECU for tuning? thanks in advance.

never seen a jdm 32 this clean. won't last long.

a smash repair is essentially a spray painter. vice versa. the damage doesn't look bad at all. if your a handy person you could fix it up yourself for under 50 bucks.
