  1. Dan, there actually some good octane boosters out there. Besides orange is pretty. Can anyone CONFIRM where Peak get their 98 octane from. Is it in fact BP or is it from Singapore?
  2. Maybe try Josh on this forum. His logon is JSAI & the website is www.jsai.com.au I think.
  3. Do Unique do them in Carbon or just fibreglass?
  4. BAAASTAAAARRRRRRD. Sorry, that was uncalled for. I had thought that some with end fences (ie a right angled bit on the outside) would be slightly less lethal. Nonetheless I am quite sure plod wouldn't understand. No appreciation.
  5. The aero bits at the sides of the front spoliers that generate some extra front downforce. They are usually left unpainted.
  6. Is it in any way wrong that dive planes make me all moist?
  7. Did you touch it inappropriately or just lick the glass?
  8. Hmm, I doubt that somewhat. Numbers have been on the increase over the past few years & the trend predates drifting at the circuit. Besides, from what I have seen most of the drift spectators are 15 years old so not really willing to spend the coin on a $200 membership.
  9. There are a range of pod filters that fit different sized AFM's. So have a look. The advantage of the Apexi set that matches the Z32 AFM's is that you can bin the rubber hoses - these when old/tired have been known to suck in & restrict flow to the turbo. AFAIK there is no difference between the range of the Nismo units & the Z32 units, just the size of the housing. Irrespective of which unit you choose (Z32 or Nismo) you need to recalibrate the ECU. On a Power FC this is easy, but it is still worth checking the AFR's on the dyno once the job is done. Make sure you get some plugs to got with the Z32's AFM's. You need to splice these into the wiring of the car. Can anyone confirm if the Nismo unit is a straight plug in, it the same as the stock plug?
  10. Yeah, fair call. I was suprised to read about it in Auto Fiction a few weeks back. I thought that it had been long dead & buried - not that anyone was grieving over its loss. The WASCC run a good event - you can see the improvements they make year on year - even if the view is of ever more corporate hospitality and from further toward the left hander before the run down to Kolb. Besides this state government & motorsport don't mix. On the flip side WASCC membership numbers have been steadilly increasing over the past few years so they are obviously doing more than just running a good V8 event.
  11. Gees fellas be carefull, according to the state government it may get out of hand... http://www.theage.com.au/news/SPORT/Ferrar...0524082620.html Apparently these uckwits can't tell the difference between an F1 fan & a bogon doing a burnout in a VN Commode.
  12. Easy, really. If you want to run a stock airbox go the Nismo units. If you are happy with pods (particularly Apexi ones) the Z32 option is probably better. You can get a ready made set up from Nengun. http://www.nengun.com/apexi/super-suction-kit-z32-80mm-afm You can get the pods to run with the 65mm units, too.
  13. Well I had issues with 255's on the rear with +22's, so yeah I reckon you could have problems. But having said that there are two other things to consider: Camber settings make a BIG difference so have a think about how much you want to run before you select the rims. You can always run spacers on a larger offset rim. Not ideal if you are buying new, however. This photo may help:
  14. Remember - more offset equals less trackwidth. Why not just buy two sets & use one for the road & one for the track? Don't think the +28's are much of an option, however.
  15. Well, how about at the front. Maybe... I have some 255/40/17 RE55's on +22 offset rims (17x9) on my R32 R. Ride heights are 255 & 245 front and rear. At the back the tyres scraped the guards a little & so I had the lip rolled. Problem went away. I wouldn't be too confident that the rears will fit & allow you to run a small amount of -ve camber, ie one degree or less. At the front with the -ve camber I run (just over two degrees) the car will happilly run a half inch spacer. So a 9" +12 offset should be fine & probably at 9 1/2" will be ok too. You may be better off running +12 at the front & +22 at the rear.....
  16. So is it still the same spanker who is lately talking of a V8 street race in Perth - again?
  17. You may be a little harsh, but only a little. To their credit PIMM have spent large on the engineering studies etc to get the approvals & the project to where it is, ie they have some land & an approval. Their "fleet of earth moving equipment" as far as I know consisted of a bulldozer pushing over some trees. The council (one of them, just not the Bunbury one) has given them an extra year to get the thing built. PIMM wanted two. I guess the whoile thing hinges on PIMM getting the necessary finance/backers to get the place built. Personally, I am not holding my breath.
  18. Thanks for the info. The inherent problem is that you basically need to have the camera set up before the car hoves into view. So I guess if I use the ISO settings available & then go from there. Will play around with the exposure also.
  19. The RB74 is a harder pad. It will put up with higher peak temps when braking without fade (reltive to a standard pad). It will also squeal more when cold. Having used them I would point you in the direction of the Ferodo range instead - particularly the DS 2500 which is a better pad than the RB74.
  20. Don't forget the data logging & ECU's have come on in leaps & bounds.
  21. Please don't take this the wrong way because I am sure Josh is a nice bloke, but I am not driving from WA to NSW just to see him. Now that may show a lack of commitment on my behalf, but so be it.
  22. I have the same, but with 80mm Z32 AFM's. Will these fir and/or can they be made to fit. If so interested in a CF cover.
  23. R32 GT-R's (As opposed to GTS-T's & other models) were made into 94. There were a couple of minor updates during the model cycle, the second being the more significant. These cars carry the BNR-3***** build numbers. Yes, V-spec's are available but will cost you quite a bit of extra coin. IMHO there are not worth the extra asking price....
  24. Please don't make the mistake of assuming that to handle well the car has to be stiffly sprung. It has been said that what is good for handling is good for ride comfort. Spring rates of 10 front/8 rear are high, much higher than you need for the street. Stock rates are only about 1/3 that. You should be focusing on sway bars & dampers as much as springs. Spring rates are either kg/mm (Sometimes Newtons/mm) or pounds/inch. The higher number is invariably in pounds/inch (lb/in). A 3.6kg/mm spring rate is the same as a 200#/in spring.
