Destroyed R888 - Too Low Pressure?
djr81 replied to MrStabby's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
What was left of the thing by the time you pulled up/got back? Yes it is possible (Although Id reckon unlikely) to pull the bead off the rim if you went really hard on low pressure and hit a kerb etc. Maybe warm them up at a slower rate would be better. The other way works too but is a lot of stuffing around. But all up it sounds unlikely. The things were stretched on the rims I trust? -
Nah mate that's ok NSW is a bit of a drive from home. All I would say is a couple things, actually make that three. 1. Having the damper set soft makes springs feel softer. It is not a good thing however as generally underdamped springs tend not to handle as well as they should. 2. Same, same for under inflated tyres. 3. Hillclimb speed is usually about confidence. It is common to go seconds faster as you build familiarity with the circuit. Anyway good luck to you if you are happy with your car & suspension. Just not sure 13kg and comfortable belong in the same sentence. Your car would have left the factory with a spring rate 3kg/mm or less.

Brake Upgrade Front Only Bias Issues?
djr81 replied to LuckyTune's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The ABS in the R32 is rubbish anyway - it is slow and generally pretty ineffective. Just be thankful its not all of that and leaking as well. I have found the Brembo setup with the Vspec master cylinder to be a little rear biased in any case so if you are happy with the pedal travel it is probably not far from being ok. Did you fit a master cylinder stopper? -

You may want to consider a different master cylinder to match the piston areas so you don't end up with a long pedal. -
13kg springs are very comfortable for street use????? What did you use for a benchmark, your skateboard?

Be fine as long as you don't go over 80km/h. -
Rb26 Catch Cans, Baffle Plates, And Vacuum Pumps.
djr81 replied to No Crust Racing's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
1. No, not really. They don't add much. 2. If you don't have a sump drain you have to drain the catch can itself which is annoying. The separator doesn't need draining which makes it easier. 3. Probably but the merits of all this stuff are debatable. 4. The problem comes about with long periods at full throttle and full revs with cornering forces thrown into the mix. Not something you should be doing on the road. A small amount of blow by will carry a small amount of oil out of the breather of the catch can. Which makes a large amount of mess. The alternative is to scavenge it through the turbo suction (This is what Nissan does) which puts it back through the inlet system. You get oil in your inlet this way but it needs to quite a bit to be a problem. At the end of the day if you are happy with the Hi Octane separator I would run that. If it helps I have one at home I no longer want. -
Means Ferrari will be running their engine with the last of the tokens used for upgrades. Be interested to see how it goes. Not sure why Kimi didn't get it. 10 place grid penalty probably wont hurt him anywhere near so much.

Has to laugh at Horner on the tellie back peddling and opening the door on an RBR Renault for next year.

Check the power steering fluid level while you are about it.

Simon may. He is the king of stock bottom end GTR's. -
Most Nismo upgrade parts (the suspension links etc) are just stock items with harder bushes or with slightly different lengths or drill locations. To the extent that I wouldn't bother with most of it. I only bought the stuff because I could not find the dimensional information I was after. Still have the castor rods sitting at home. I did like these more, however and will have to chase them up at some stage... https://www.z1motorsports.com/z1-products/z1-motorsports/z1-motorsports-r32-adjustable-tension-rods-p-8629.html

Don't know how directly this applies to you but I have the equivalent arm from Nismo in an R32 GTR part. The only difference between the Nismo and the Nissan part (other than the colour) is the outside bolt hole (on the left of the first photo) is drilled offset on the Nismo item and centred on the Nissan one. This gives you a few mm longer affective arm length for some more camber and trackwidth. If you care not for those things just go buy a stock Nissan set which second hand I imagine you would get change out of $50.

Have these - the second of the two is probably not so common.

djr81 replied to Mark R33's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Quick question - does it have stock or aftermarket cams in the motor? Sorry to be a pain but could you please post one of these - preferably the last one. It would help me heaps. Car looks the business by the way. GLWS. -

Have you checked the crank trigger (crank angle sensor) output or swapped it for another? -
Good People Need Help ! R33 Does Not Go Shooting
djr81 replied to gromovkirill's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Is this correct? The engine runs well up to 4000rpm? Above 4000rpm it misfires? You have changed the spark plugs and bought two new coils to check those. They are good? I cant understand the following "pump weighs 2.9 bar pump gtr" Is this a reference to the fuel pressure? -
Is Anyone Selling Any Skyline Offsets
djr81 replied to Rado33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
If yous less prefer Sydney pickup I have 22 offsets which is 32 offsets or 33 if hektic stance offsets is much more preference enough. -
How much are you paying for your DBA rotors? And how many times do you multiply that by for replacement and/or machining? Not all PMu rotors are two piece they have a number of different one piece options. Anyway there is an option there. How cheap or how hard he uses them is up to him.
-
Waste? Have had project mu on my car for years. They cope really well to track work and don't crack like I have experienced other rotors doing. The 2 piece I have on the front of my GTR have stood up really, really well. Something I cant say for their equivalent in a DBA or an RDA. So, yeah, if waste is fixing it once, properly, then waste away. You don't need to spend big dollars on Pommie stuff.

Fixed.
