  1. Clearly there is some contention about how much front wheel torque is supplied at cruising speed. I have found in the 32's I have run that there is a little supplied at about 100km/h. So I dont think any fault codes will show and I dont reckon there to be anything wrong with the system. AFAIK the attessa works in conditions other than large front/rear wheel speed differentials.
  2. They all put a little bit of torque forward at light throttle at that speed. The system is fine.
  3. Dude RB26's dont have hydraulic lifters. But they do have very noisy injectors. And a propensity to run big end bearings.
  4. Think the two companies are under one listing on the German SX? You never know how much influence any one person has on the car design or the business or if it just that the wind tunnel calibration is shit. See how Sam Michael is going at McLaren for example or how Ferrari went in the last few years.
  5. Yeah Bottas is beating him but neither look like race winners given the car isnt much chop. But the reality is nowadays you dont make it through the junior formula without bulk coin and even into F1 without backing. Have a look at what rubbish aero has done to their share price. http://quotes.wsj.com/XE/XETR/WGF1/interactive-chart
  6. Well the block is sorted to 86mm and the JE rings are on their way from the US. Next up is pistons. Could someone who has some laying about help out by offering a measurement of the ring lands on a forged RB26 piston? I have attached some measurements of an ACL piston - just not sure how much they vary from brand to brand. 20130621130016.pdf
  7. Why? He can actually drive a bit when he isnt doing stupid stuff and he brings in masses of money to Williams. It is easier to stop a driver doing dumb shit than it is to make a slow driver quick. So they will keep him until either his money runs out or they can find someone faster (With money).
  8. Well their fuel economy sucks teh balls - both MB & Nissan. So dont expect them to suddenly come good in the enduros.
  9. Yeah it is for this reason that alot of people use 6 point harnesses. They may chafe your balls but in the event of something serious happening they are worth the discomfort.
  10. As above 200rwhp at 4000rpm is a good indicator of response. If I remember correctly Poncam B's wont do it - the A's are better the difference being limited to a shorter duration exhaust. Also the choice is not just R, A or B Tomei will grind you plenty of other options.
  11. Are you really a fan, or just saying that because you are afraid he is going to glass you?
  12. Well one RB & one Ferrari anyway. With the MB's fading after qualifying well. Atleast that is what I am putting the housekeeping money on.
  13. Sorry I meant in qualifying - the race and qualy have blurred in my addled brain into one boring continuum. Bottas effort on Saturday being the only highlight. But then again the Canadian GP was so dull I basically slept through it so anything could have happened and I would have missed it. For me keeping track of how Massa is going nowadays is a bit like following Marussia, ie something best done by other people. Still, PR blurb aside he was lapped by his team mate which isnt good. But probably not as disheartening for him as for Kimi. Silverstone will be equally as dull seeing as it tends to show up the speed differences in the cars much more than other tracks.
  14. Really? He has been doing a better job, but a good one? Fernando lapped hin in Canada before Massa put it in the fence.
  15. You must be trail braking alot to carry a locked tyre that far into a corner or is it that you had to stay on the brakes late due to an earlier lock up? I used to use RB74's. But I found that once they went away due to heat they never would come back. Not sure why. The DS2500 feel as though they have changed in the last set I bought. Alot more bitey when you first bed them in. After a few kms they reverted to how they used to feel.
  16. Would it be a bad combination? Yes.
  17. Hmm maybe Webber should just sign up to be number 2 to his mate Fernando and be done with it. Lotus are on the path to be busted arse broke so am not sure why anyone would want to go there. Hoping Kimi does end up at RB if Webber doesnt resign.
  18. The likelihood of them being bent is pretty small and even if they are Nissan arms are cheap as chips to buy second hand. So I wouldnt factor that in. Easiest way to tell is to look at them. If you want to go DIY I would remove the arms etc and then take them somewhere and pay them to press the bushes out. You can install the new bushes and refit the arms etc yourself. Then just get it checked over and aligned. Will be massively cheaper than the Nismo option.
  19. You might want to actually say how long the springs need to be and what diameter. Might help.
  20. Have heard good things about the Project Mu pads. Also Ferodo DS2500 are good too. Neither are particularly cheap - if you are not in a hurry try getting the Ferodos pads ex US.
  21. Was nice to see Fernando having a go for a couple of laps. Sort of reminded you of what F1 was like before it was ruined by shit tyres.
  22. Which will be a surprise to no one. Team cheater get away with any and everything. Cause cheaters are important to the sport or something. Maybe the FIA shoud have asked them if the rule should be applied? They used to do that in the good old days.
  23. Frank hired his own daughter. She is deputy team principal.
  24. What choice do they have. Look at how much money Lotus lost last year. If Williams did that they would disapper in a heartbeat. Lets hope their new CEO will be better than the last.
