  1. But if you have the same car, in the same area , etc and the only difference is you are really old like Terry, what is the price difference then. I would say it would not be $100s Even if you are the same age and looking for the best deal this thread does help anyone looking for alternative company's prices for the cover .
  2. Like most con men, they are believable, so you never know. By the way, I bought 3 cars from his father and had no problems
  3. Hi Hayden , at the risk of boring other members that know the story, lol I knew nothing about Skylines and bought the car on a whim form EL, paint was crappy looking but liked the way the car looked and felt good behind the wheel.I was lucky, the car was sound, no rust and had a new worked motor +. The price was good considering the work that was done on it and I had the paper work to prove it. BUT , Edward Lee advertised it as a 800HP R34GTR and only need the final tune to get around that mark. It went to the tuner, he said it would need a boost controller, contacted EL and told him it need the controller, he said OK and I gave the tuner the go ahead to install the boost controller and was going to sort it out later with Phil, when I finally contacted EL (Phil) he virtually told me to piss off as they paid for the tune and would not pay for the controller. This pissed me off but I liked the car and thought I would see how it drove home after the tune. The car had an OS Quad Clutch, T78 turbo. It tuned to 338awkw, this sounded OK for me, more than enough for a street car, little did I know until I started to drive home down Pennant Hills Rd just how wrong I was, nothing much happened under 5000rpm , had not driven a stick for 8 years and with the Quad clutch and no torque down low, it was ride em cowboy in peak hour traffic all the way to the freeway, it was a crappy ride home 330klm and it broke down 40 klms from home, it did get it started again Asked EL again to pay for the Boost controller and he told me not to bother him, deal was done, not so. I contacted Consumers Affairs and they went to see him, Phil had the bloke wait for over an hour outside his office and when he finally spoke to him, to was rude and dismissive. He had no fear of Consumers Affair as they had no power in this type of situation as they could not make a judgement to have EL pay for anything ( as I understand it) But the CA bloke phoned me and told me to try NCAT as they did have the power to do something about it. I did and I also told them that EL misrepresented the car as being an 800HP machine , just to rub it in a bit, I only wanted the boost controller paid for. EL said they would take the car back but not pay for the boost controller, in hindsight, $1100 would have been real cheap to get rid of the car if I knew what was going to happen, lol EL had to go to the NCAT office, as I was living over 200klm away from Sydney I did not have to go to the first hearing and we used a conference call. I will tell you this, Phil did not act like a dick with NCAT as he knew they had the power to force him to abide by the judgement. If businesses do not abide by the NCAT ruling they can have their license suspended and I guess in some cases , revoked ! I was paid for the Boost controller and that was just the start of shit with my car dealing with arseholes in the Motor Performance industry. But there was a happy end and the car is mad Then not long ago Edward Lees finally got caught up with and closed down. But as everyone expected, here they are again. I would have thought they would have had their Motor Dealers License taken off them, forever!, BUT with the dumbarse weak laws and the people that administer them, others will have to suffer with this mob! ANYONE that buys a car or has work done on it should document everything, try to get answers on emails or texts, phone conversations are next to useless. Keep everything until you are sure, VERY SURE everything is OK
  4. I was one that bought a car from EL and they had put a " V-Spec 11 " logo on the back , lol, .
  5. I wonder if he is doing it legally and if the powers that govern them know he is back in business ?? Not trying to hide the association with Edward Lees Imports ? Stocklist - Edward Lees Imports - Japanese Cars and Imported Vehicles www.edwardlees.com.au/stocklist/ ... inch deep dish alloy wheels, front and rear air-conditioning. Call Sunrise Cars 02 97440539. Go to SUNRISE CARS .com .au to see a detailed video of this car
  6. NO surprises there, the Teflon Kid strikes again, lol It is good to know who he is trading under, probs a relative
  7. You have to slow down mate, my back hurts and I am getting tired just reading what you are doing, LOL Enjoying you build
  8. It might be outdated already, 8474 lol
  9. It was easier to get to the moon and quicker . lol
  10. From what some blokes said about busting the factory box with my 3.2 , I think mainly the 3rd gear , I was a bit spooked about smashing though the gears, but the coppermix handled it and a few other crazy blokes gave it a wack and no problem
  11. HI Raj, I have this clutch and love it for a DD. I have just under the 740BHP recommendation but have 1000Nm around 4000rpm it seems to cop anything you throw at it.
  12. Just do it for yourself and I am sure you get some great vids and have fun doing it. You can even do the same places but approach it differently , lower, higher , faster, slower, just different and just get to know what you are doing, and ideas will come enjoy it
  13. Thanks mate, I have the car going in to change all of the bushes and have new rear camber arms fitted, While its up I will get the mechanic to do it with me.
  14. thanks for your info, I will see if my mechanic up here and check it out, it is annoying having paper work that says there is a Nismo 2-way LSD and everything points to it not being a 2-way
  15. From what I have found out about the 8374, it is about the same 800BHP as my PT6266 Gen 2 , but spools quicker and better transient response and the 6266 is pretty good but probably works better top end. As far as I know they rate most turbos at BHP (crank) With a 3Lt the 8374 would be great, been in one and it flies. I have a 3.2Lt and if I was going for good response and mad top end I would go 9180 as they also seem to get going similar or better than the 6266. I am sure there are some blokes here that can steer you in the right direction.
  16. Hi Chris, that's what I have been thinking, but now with the 8474 in the wind , I think sales will slow down for what could be "The Old Model " 8374 ????
  17. If you were to have a guess Dan, when would something like this be finalized and in production or the bin. My problem is time and waiting 6 months, a year or so is not going to happen and I would still have to go with the 8374 and install the speed sensor, but will wait until I see what is happening with the 8474
  18. Would they release that type of info if it had not been tried and tested? I doubt they would mention it and definitely not show the graph if they were having problems. I would think it would stop or at least slow down the sales of the 8374 by releasing this type information, but ????
  19. Resurrecting an old thread, I believe there are different settings you can use with the Nismo 2-way and I was wondering if anyone has a Nismo 2-way LSD in their car on the softest setting. When I bought my car I had some old paperwork and one from Advan Performance back in 2009 stating the car had a Nismo 2-way LSD, I know most the other parts are there as you could see them. But there is no clunking or any other noises and drives great in any conditions and slow speed ? Is there any way to tell without pulling the diff apart ?
  20. There is some info on the EFRs on this thread, might help . "Borg Warner EFR Series Turbo's V 2.0" From what I have seen the 8374 should liven it up a 1000rpm ish earlier , looks like it really gets going @ 4000 RPM now
  21. how does that work ?
  22. Some job mate, looking forward to see the outcome
  23. Just had a look at the wiring pics and had an instant headache
  24. Until these threads on CTP started I did not know there was any difference in costs depending where you lived etc, I thought it was a flat rate across the board and as usual the good pay for the bad
