  1. BP 98 RON fuel has consistantly tested higher then the competitors when it comes to the actual RON rating The higher the RON the less likely your engine is to ping and detonate i.e damage pistons and other internals Don't waste your time with Shell or the others I have heard horror stories here in VIC... everyone in the know here uses BP 98 only
  2. Totally agree with you however I bet these guys could produce some invoices, packaging or something to prove that the injectors are brand new bosch items. Our friendly Ebay dealer can only talk the talk; he can't back it up with any evidence or proof and he has been given a couple of oppurtunties now. Maybe he is being honest, maybe not... I am personally not willing to gamble $400 on it. Good luck to anyone that tries... please let us know how you get on
  3. So you were testing out these brakes for the first time on Sunday @ Sandown as well? I had a similar experience, very happy with the brakes but they definately need a good bleed after the dry sessions later in the day. The brakes got a damn good punishing and I'm using Penrite SIN (600f)... I might look at some cooling next up (UAS deflectors maybe?) BTW your R32 looks and goes hard, very nice work in the engine bay too. I'm glad the first run on the track with the brakes and engine went well for you. You've got some of those GTR boys looking worried!
  4. Bang on the money there jjman! I asked him to prove conclusively that they were factory 550cc JECS saying that if he could he would shift a lot of them through SAU and he just came back with that same old tired line... Becasue of my "aggressive" email (LOL) he cancelled my auction bid (so that worked and I'm off the hook!) and I have ordered me some Tomei 555's. It sounds like you are going to use these injectors anyway and by rights they should do the job fine but you have been wronged big time! It's always the same old story with Ebay; buyer beware and even when you are you often end up losing out anyway... Good luck mate
  5. Well I've been ripped off plenty of times before on Ebay and doubly shafted by PalPal and there BS money back guarantee so don't have much respect for the site or it's many dodgy dealers. If you agree that Petero'nell got shafted by this same guy and take into account the fact that I had just bid (i.e. committed) $400 for the same product from him then why wouldn't I be a bit pissed off? It's only an email FFS and if he is legit then he has nothing to worry about! To be honest I'm not convinced that they aren't what he says they are... he has explained why they have tool marks on them (which I had also already mentioned in this thread i.e. during the flow testing process that he does - not the JECS factory) but I don't understand why he needs to re-test them surely they all come out of ther JECS factory within 1 or 2% of each other anyway. In the guys defence he could be buying bulk lots that don't come with fancy packaging and warranty cards as these things are for retail only and not bulk products supplied to the trade. P.S most people complete the feedback on reciept of the goods (as Ebay and the vendors keep prompting you to) not many wait until they have installed and tested the product weeks or months later. I think this can skew the results for products like this, once you have left feedback you can't do it again or change it.
  6. Umm have you read this thread or are you just trolling?
  7. FYI - I emailed this guy overnight and here is what he had to say for himself (which is what he has maintained in the past... maybe he is being honest?): Hello I just put a bid on these injectors for an RB25 on ebay and I am not happy... I have also just found on a forum someone who purchased the same items off you and said that they are not brand new and in fact had tool marks on them etc (see link below) http://www.skylinesa...32#entry5898332 It is not in your best interests to be ripping off the Skyline community here in Australia and around the world. Just be honest and save everybody the f**king hassle mate; own up to the fact that they are re-manufactured and not factory 550cc JECS items. It is really worth being dishonest about these things? There is a lot of heartache and money on the line here with high performance turbo charged vehicles. It is dealers like you that give the good, honest Ebay dealers a bad name... Replycleaninjection to me show details 11:58 PM (9 hours ago) they are brand new injectors. They are flow tested before they are shipped. The marking you see are making the removing tool from the testing rail. They are brand new injectors not remanufactured. I have great feedback to prove. Not one customer complained about used or remanufactured injectors. Everything that is listed in the auction is exactly what you will receive. 8. Nice to hear from someone that has first hand experience with these turbo's Interesting that the GCG hi flow ($2k on GCG website) was so similar in performance to the GT-RS on the dyno... It is certainly a good option to consider. The 2835 Pro S seems to have been superseded by the GT2835KAI but I don't want to drop the extra $500 on it... the GT-RS is already a stretch and I need injectors as well! (got a good price on some Tomei 555cc) Cheers man
  9. Thanks for the info mate The GCG high flow option ($2k) doesn't really seem that cheap considering the HKS is a brand new turbo with complete kit ($2.7k) and has much better performance. The SS-1 looks like a nice option also but Hypergear has only just finished the R&D on it (like last month!) and he is only one man with limited resources so it is still pretty much an unknown quantity at this stage (as well as being a bush bearing) I want to do this job once and do it right, I have gone for the best bang-for-buck option on everything else for my car so far but I do not want to compromise on the turbo or engine performance. Your opinion of the GT-RS seems to conflict with many others here on SAU... a kid with ADHD... cut and thrust driving? I thought the GT-RS was supposed to be the ducks nuts? i.e. smooth and responsive - am I missing something here? I will look into the ProS Cheers
  10. They quoted me big $$$ and were one of the most expensive quotes that I got... drop Jesse Streeter an email mate
  11. OK thanks mate. I am just not going to pay at the end of the auction if I win the items on Ebay... at least I still have a choice at this stage... Ebay sucks it is just full of dishonest wankers like this! Have you left explicit negative feedback on Ebay for this vendor so others are saved from the same fate? I know JECS are good injectors and that they make the OEM injectors as well as after market items which are re-branded by some of the big names but selling these high-flows as brand new items sucks big time. If the guy is this full of sh1t about the product I wouldn't trust him to do a decent job of high-flowing the injectors... why would he when clearly he doesn't care? Ebay don't care either as long as they get their cut and PayPal's money back guarantee is a load of crap... I've been down that path before! FAIL Good luck and keep us posted how you get on
  12. Damn it!!! I just ordered some 550cc JECS from the same guy today Are you sure those tool marks aren't just from where they have been flow tested? What other evidence is there that they are not new items? what packaging did they come in? I have exchanged a number of emails with this guy and he insists that they are unmodified, brand new items... Please keep us informed of what transpires between you and this dodgy prick Cheers
  13. Thanks for the heads up mate Jesse Streeter has made the HKS option look very attractive... I think that is the solution for me
  14. That is porn! Nice to hear from a happy HKS customer... enjoy mate
  15. I was quoted on a full bolt on kit to suit an RB25 so I'm assuming that it comes complete with everything I need including housings etc
  16. Thanks I've dropped him an email
  17. Sorry for all the questions here but I have got some pretty good prices on the Garrett GT2871R kit for the RB25. Would this be the closest Garrett solution to the HKS GT-RS? What are the pro's and con's of the GT2871R vs Hypergear ATR43 SS-1? I am after a reliable 250rwkw responsive, driveable street/track car and I don't mind paying for a good turbo if it is warranted
  18. Wow it looks like Stao@Hypergear might be on to something good with the ATR43 SS-1... It appears to have GT-RS like response and power for a fraction of the cost and the money saved would be well spent on injectors and a tune! The SS-1 also bolts up to factory dump pipe and water line plus comes with a new oil line so doesn't require much effort to install over stock. Can an HKS GT-RS really be worth it at twice the price??? Decisions, decisions
  19. Thanks for the feedback guys I will look more closely at the Hyper Gear SS option for sure After ringing around more I have found a few Aussie dealers who will do the GT-RS for around $3200 which would be a similar $$$ total as getting it from Nengun if the GST was applied by customs. Based on this info I think Nengun are now out of the equation.
  20. Hi Guys The title says it all I guess... Nengun have the HKS GTRS for about $2850 delivered which is the best price I have found on-line. It is a farken lot money but from what I have read it is the ultimate turbo upgrade for the RB25DET in terms of responsiveness and at power levels of up to 250rwkw. Does anyone know whether this kit can be had any cheaper than this price? or locally for similar money? Are there any other truely comparable turbo kits available for less coin? Is there anything I need to look out for if I go ahead and deal with Nengun? Their "no returns" policy is a little scary to say the least! Cheers
  21. Look mate I couldn't care less about the guys personal life to be honest. The problem has been resolved but it could have been handled much better by both the retailer and (much more so) the wholesaler so let's leave it at that. Road Test: I took the car for a good drive today, bedded in the pads and then went for a spin through the hills and I am very happy with the results and the K Sport brakes. It's difficult to describe the changes but there is definitely more pedal feel, braking is smoother and the pedal is easier to modulate... I know it sounds strange but it really does feel like you have more brakes... much more actually! By comparison the old brakes now seem more like an "on-off" switch and the K Sports like a dimmer switch where you can easily and precisely modulate the braking. This precise control was especially noticeable just where the ABS starts kicking in and you want to just back off the limit ever so slightly They were really quite confidence inspiring after a while and I cannot wait to see how these things perform on the track!
  22. Hey mate it is a pretty complex topic and Google is your friend here; try searching on DVT and brake disk runout there are heaps of web pages & PDFs on the subject from all the big players in the game. Good luck!
  23. Finally the moment of truth! Went for a big drive today just taking it easy on the disks for the first 200km and every thing seems really good so far. My rear disks have also just been replaced and I put a new seal kit in the rear calipers that previously had a sticky piston so the first thing I notice is that I can't hear the rear pads dragging on the disks any longer. As others have reported with the K Sports the brake pedal seems to engage the brakes at a slightly lower point but it is not significant and I was used to it in minutes. I did a couple of low speed hard braking stops and it certainly seems easier to make the ABS kick in as you'd expect. The brakes also seem to have a better feel to them... maybe more direct and responsive? It's hard to say until I give it a good spirited run. I didn't have any shims to fit the RB75 pads I got for the K Sports so I was worried about noise but so far so good in that respect too. Will be giving the brake pads a proper "hard" bedding-in tomorrow. It is great to be driving my Skyline again P.S I kind of thought that the anodized orange calipers would look a bit gay but the actually look great on the car! Will post a pic soon.
  24. The new disk rotor fits perfectly 0.04mm runout
  25. They have and I'm not here to bag them... just give other SAU members a factual account of my experiences good and bad. K Sport brakes still appear to be good bang-for-buck and I'm sure my experience is not the norm out there... I just can't wait to get the car back on the road... even better the track to put these new brakes to the test!
